Martinelli's Apple Juice, fresh squeezed orange juice, and innovative cream cheese flavors led to an instant attraction. This place is so tried and true. I ordered the Classic smoked fish bagel for 12.75. The bagel did not come toasted and it did not need to. Extra points because this bagel included capers and that to me makes a delicious bagel sammie. what stood out to me was how crunchy the toppings were in the bagel. I got the egg everything bagel with avocado smash overall, I thought that the bagel was OK. The avocado smash was actually really good. It had a good flavor and had some spices in there to really kick up that flavor and there was a good amount of Schmear in it so I feel like I definitely was able to get a lot of that filling which was nice because some legal places don't provide a lot of feeling the only thing was, I felt like the bagel itself was a bit salty too salty for my taste. I think that if it was a little bit less salty than it would've been perfect, but the bagel is itself was pretty soft and I thought overall the flavor was there. It was just a bit salty overall and I thought that just brought down quality a little bit but I would definitely go there again and get the bagel again. Top 3 bagel sandwiches of my life. We ordered online on a Sunday morning - got 2 coffees, a Bart's ham and egg on an everything bagel, and a chicken chorizo & eggs on a plain bagel. Both were ready on time and the baristas/workers were friendly and kind. Both sandwiches were worth savoring. The chicken chorizo had a good balance of saltiness and spice, but the jalapeños were a step up to the overall flavor. Seems like a solid deli experience with good coffee! I know that they make their own bread/bagels, which is worth a few stars. It's unfortunate that not every business greets you or answers your questions with a welcoming demeanor. The people at Bart's are low frills but they seem happy to be there and it shows in the warmth of the business (personality, not temperature) and the quality of their product. It was probably a 3, but I ordered on UBER Eats so it looses some freshness during travel.. the pork sausage was a tad spicy.. the everything bagel was good but not toasted as I irdered.. Born and raised New Yorker here and I declare that Bart's are the best bagels in PHL. Having lived in other cities, I realize it's all relative when it comes to bagels outside NY. But regardless, Bart's is definitely a winner. My go to is an everything bagel with tofu cream cheese, lettuce, tomato, and cucumber. The bagels are perfectly chewy and the tofu cc is solid. I unfortunately grew up in such places that bagels from everywhere else have been ruined. Those place being Northern New Jersey, and Nassau County Long Island. It makes me insufferable about slices of pizza and the "perfect" bagel. So far here in Philly, Bart's narrowly beats out Kismet. While the bagel was AMAZING. What I was truly surprised by was how good Elixr Cold brew was. They were both very small bagels and neither were toasted as we had ordered. The scallion cream cheese bagel had barely any cream cheese on it so it was very dry.
