Food is generally quick, however at $8 for an egg and cheese sandwich the egg should not be cold and wet and the bagel shouldn't be burnt. Quality has really gone downhill in the last year or so. Only valid bagel on Temple's campus. I'm from NJ, so if I say the bagel is good, it's good. They are only open as long as they have stock, so get there as early in the day as you can to get the best bagels and spreads. I went to The Bagel Hut recently and ordered a BLT on a croissant. Within a few hours, I started feeling extremely sick, and it turned into five days of food poisoning. I couldn't eat anything else during that time and was completely miserable. Not to mention that the sandwich that got me sick cost me $9 !!! When I finally felt well enough, I went back to let them know what happened -- not to yell or demand anything, just to make them aware. Instead of listening, the staff were incredibly rude and actually yelled in my face, insisting there was "no way" their food made me sick. I've never been treated so disrespectfully by a business before. Even if they didn't mean to cause it, a little empathy and professionalism would have gone a long way. After this experience, I'll never be going back to The Bagel Hut, and I definitely don't recommend it to anyone. read more

They pack the bagel, it's a lot and feels like it's 10000% worth the price, it's delicious, flavors are so good and their bagels are toasted to perfection. Flushing out all these good reviews from 6+ years ago My order was just bad, First time i went i got an everything bagel with veggie cream cheese and it looked amazing!! but the cream cheese tasted sour?? and it tasted spoiled, and the bagel was just okay figured id give it another try today and order what i see other people ordering! got a bacon egg and cheese and they upsold me on a hashbrown (customer service was great dont get me wrong) The bacon was overcooked and in tiny bits instead of strips, the egg was MASSIVE and messed up the whole ratio, the hashbrown that they encouraged me to have was soggy, and there was MAYBE one piece of cheese on it, the ratios were all off and i was very disappointed, AND IT WAS like 8-9 dollars its a good amount of food and the people are lovely, maybe ill go there another morning and get a coffee and a sandwich and ill lyk how it is, i shouldnt need to do that though because it is called BAGEL hut read more

As a former student and current employee at Temple, I feel confident proclaiming that the Bagel Hut is my favorite place to get breakfast on campus. Even though you may need to wait a little bit in line, it's worth it, especially because Joann and the students she has working for her are so nice you don't mind standing in line. My favorite breakfast: everything bagel with cream cheese and bacon. Seriously. Many of you may be thinking, cream cheese AND bacon? That's weird! But, it's not; it's delicious. If it's not your thing, though, you can get another type of bagel (trust me, she's got everything) and your choice of lunch meat, veggies, or specialty cream cheese. The pumpernickle bagel with low fat veggie is a tasty yet guilt-free option. Did I mention she's got lox, too? Don't forget lunch, though. The chicken salad is SO GOOD. I don't know what's in it, but it's great. You can get a container of chicken salad with crackers or you can have her make you a sandwich on bread or a bagel. While you're there, try the mocha java (coffee + hot chocolate). It's a great compliment to your breakfast. Just thinking about it makes me want to go get something from her... Definitely not what it used to be. From what I understand, Bagel Hut ownership changed hands about a month or two ago. Went today to grab a quick sandwich and it was a pretty weird experience. I ordered ham and cheese on rye with LTO + mayo. According to the menu it should have been $4.25, but I was charged $5. I figured tax or something but that seemed too much. I pay and stand back to watch my sandwich being made, and all is well until I see the guy reach for the microwave. Sure enough, he pops my entire sandwich in and heats it up (???). Got back to my office to eat and the ham is all watery from the heat, and the entire sandwich just tastes like it was left out in the sun for a few hours...yuck. Lukewarm ham and veggies get a lukewarm review. And they forgot the mayo. I guess the lesson here is stick to the bagels. read more

I really love this place. They offer wide variety of fresh bagels that are SOO tasty, and incredibly affordable. I'm 99% sure it's ran by a family, who have this wonderful teamwork going on so even the longest lines don't phase it. But make sure you have cash (or Diamond Dollars for TU students). My favorite: Chicken salad on spicy cheddar bagel. (The egg salad is also delicious!!! I like to switch it up every now and then. And even get both sometimes... What? Don't judge me until your try it!) Everyone's favorite: Veggie cream cheese on everything bagel. Each bagel takes only about a few mins to be made so don't let the long lines keep you away. Bagel Hut has been a great stand/truck for my Temple years. They consistently provide a great bagel and great customer service despite the long lines. Their prices have remained relatively cheap and the quality has not suffered. For a city like Philadelphia with very little bagel options (granted outside of New York, LA, or Montreal, good bagels are non-existent), I find this one to still be the best of the bunch. I would however suggest not eating their lox. The lox, while cheap, really cheap, does not taste nearly as good as Fourth Street Delicatessen's or Ippolito's in South Philly. Save your money and just stick to a basic. For me, the poppy seed toasted with cream cheese is the way to go. read more

Never before have I been anywhere that offers as many choices in terms of bagels and spreads as the Bagel Hut does! I especially love the Apple Cinnamon Raisin spread as well as the Lox spread. I've found myself stopping by multiple times per week either before or between classes. Not only that, it's cheap and tastes great. Be forewarned, the line tends to get somewhat long especially in the morning and they really only have space for 3 people at the most to prepare orders, but the wait is very much worth it. read more

The prices are totally reasonable and the people who work there are friendly and helpful; especially the woman who owns the place. There's usually a line but it moves quickly enough.
