Im not normally one who writes reviews, but there comes a time when one has to document an experience that is note worthy, and for me.... and this is it. There is not enough good I can say about Bartwood Construction. In March, we discovered two leaks in our upstairs bathrooms that had damaged our garage and guest bedroom (it was a mess). After our insurance company was called they sent over Bartwood to assess the damage; this was on a Monday. Within a day and to my surprise, they started working. Bartwood completely organized the schedule and repairs that were needed and gave me a timeline to complete the project. Not only do I appreciate the quality workmanship AND craftsmanship of these folks, its the sincerity of the people who make this company great. From the President to the clean up crews--- Every single person that was involved in our project was professional, on time, clean, courteous and most importantly trustworthy. I have to say this is the best experience I have ever had working with a service provider in construction and, we have been so delighted with the outcome of our project: I just wish I could name and thank each and everyone that come to our home. The construction industry doesn't always have a great reputation--- personally, Bartwood should be the benchmark of excellence for the trades. The completed project turned out beautiful and on time (like they said!) I would use them again in a heartbeat (which I have). Gold Star service and workmanship that turned my disaster into a dream. I really appreciated the quality of workmanship that I experienced with Bartwood with all the work they did on my house. The people I dealt with, that work for Bartwood all were exceptionally polite, professional, friendly and courteous. The men they sent to repair everything from the drywall and cabinets under the sink to the outside stucco did an excellent job. Craftsmanship is not a word that you hear a lot of anymore and that is unfortunate. It seems that most "workers" just want to do the job as quick and cheap as possible and do not care about the quality of the work that they do. Bartwood's men were not in a hurry, nor were they slack in getting the job done in a timely manner. It just seems to me that they were more interested in doing the job correctly the first time, in order to satisfy the customer, and that is greatly appreciated. The guys that were at my house were more than willing to not only answer my questions, but to also explain how they were doing their jobs if I asked. I can't say enough positive about the Bartwood team. Mike Westler and Josh who I worked closely with on my project were outstanding. I had a slab leak and significant water damage. Like a lot of people I had no idea who to pick from the list of contractors my insurance company gave me. There were a lot of good websites and positive and negative reviews for all the companies. To be honest it was a bit of luck that I picked Bartwood. They were extremely professional every single day they spent at my home. There work was excellent and our master bathroom and bedroom look a lot better now than they did before the water damage even happened. They handled everything with the insurance company for me. I have done other major projects at different homes. By the end of those projects I just couldn't wait for other companies to leave. Not so with Bartwood, it was always a pleasure to have them around, and I work out of my home. I would strongly encourage anyone to interview the people from Bartwood when considering a contractor. My advice to homeowners is simple do not go with Bartwood Construction / Classic Restoration. i paid approximately $21,000 in good faith connected to an insurance repair project, and there is now a serious dispute regarding charges, accounting, and refunds after very limited work was completed at the property. I never signed a finalized contract personally agreeing to the amounts now being claimed. The drywall removal work being charged for was completed in only a few hours, and my cameras documented the timeline from arrival to completion. I was also previously told in writing that there was a $5,600 demo credit, but after deciding not to continue using the company, the numbers and explanations suddenly changed. I have repeatedly requested a proper accounting showing where the funds were applied along with supporting documentation for labor, materials, and delivery charges, but I am still waiting for clear answers and resolution. Homeowners should fully document everything, review every invoice carefully, and be extremely cautious before handing over insurance funds. read more

Wow! We were so pleased with the work by Bartwood, I decided to write a review. I just read the other reviews and figured they must have been from another office. We live in Mission Viejo and our insurance company, Auto Club, recommended them. We had a slab leak which in the end caused repairs to dry wall, baseboards, paintings and trim work that Bartwood did after we had our copper plumbing ePiped. A Little League friend who had a slab leak months before us had Auto Club, used Bartwood, and she had nothing but good things to say too. They were Johnny on the spot, same day as a matter of fact, with estimator, Brent, coming to look at work and then Mark, the project manager, was very nice and accommodating with his crews. They have a terrific painter! BTW, I am terribly picky. I had Mark send a painter back because they missed lacquer finish on foot plate in bathroom, but that was minor and done at a convenient time for our family. I'd hire Bartwood again. We live in a single level home in Casta Del Sol, Mission Viejo. Recently we discovered water leaking under our carpet in the master bedroom and living room areas, this also included the tile floor in the bathroom. We called Saddleback Plumbing and Vince Carlini came out to inspect the same day. The wet carpet was pulled up, carpet pad was removed and large blow dryers were running. The plumber repaired the leak. Bartwood Construction removed the wet drywall and the drying process begins. Brittney at Bartwood was wonderful, Project Manager, Josh Ketts was a prince to work with telling us who was coming and what day and time. All workers were prompt, courteous and professional. The painting was finished in less than two days with Pete at the helm and A.J. and Erik finishing the beautiful job. I cannot believe how great my experience was with Bartwood Construction. Every single team member was polite, on-time (called if they were possibly going to be late), cleaned up after themselves every day, and even finished the job under the original estimate price. Scott, the project manager, communicated so well and answered all of my questions. We needed a lot of work done which included: repairs from flood damage, new drywall, new stucco, fixing and putting back the carpet, demo work, hanging lights and grouting a shower. We chose Bartwood Construction due to its proximity to our home. We truly made the right choice! Mark Bautista established excellent communication with us. The workmen worked very hard, taking a short lunch break daily. They seemed dedicated to installing the flooring in a timely manner and even worked on a Saturday! There were a lot of little things that Bartwood did to distinguish themselves from other companies I have worked with, one of them being asking us to take the weekend and note anything that was an issue and they contacted us the following week and addressed one or two minor areas we had noted! I live part time in retirement community in Orange County,and part time in Northwest. I was in the NW, when the hot water's line in the kitchen broke @ the OC. The water was in every rooms. The Bartwood crew came in and help with everything's that need to be done before the restoration co.come in. It's took a month to have new woods floor and tiles to putted in. After Bartwood moved my dry furnitures and belongings in. Ricky- a project manager, came back and helped me set up all electronics and the Cables for me. I'm so thankful that I was referred to Bartwood. My insurance company gave me a couple of different names of restoration contractors to use after we had a major slab leak. I met with all of them but chose these guys because they were informative and seemed to sympathize with everything I had gone thru already. The other companies I met with were really pushy about me signing their contracts right there on the spot and it made me uncomfortable. My gut was right Ricky Flores was great to work with. You're missing out if you don't use Bartwood Construction. I'm so impressed with the entire repair process that we just experienced with Bartwood. I was a little hesitant about this AAA insurance referral because of some other referrals I received from AAA, but Bartwood was by far more than I expected.
