Something that is under rated and sparce in Reno is some KFC ( Korean Fried Chicken). Well, now we've got the real deal. This unassuming store front is the place to be for a good lunch. When you walk in the door you are greeted by friendly staff that will welcome you up to the order counter. After we ordered, the food flew out of the kitchen. The chicken was hot, crispy and fresh and every sauce was a winner. Although, the real winner of the day was the Korean Corn Dog. The cheese pull on it was next level, truly a thing of beauty with just the right amount of sweetness. We dropped by Basak Chicken to have a bit of a "snack". When we arrived , the restaurant had a few diners but not overly crowded, so we immediately walked up to counter to place our order. We ordered a Korean corndog, some drinks and a 16-pcs order of chicken: half spicy curry flavor and half soy garlic. While my brother and sister waited for the food, my niece and I went next door to get some boba and when walked back in, the proprietors were nice enough to let us keep our drinks. The Korean corndog was massive with a combination of savory and sweet flavor from sprinkling of sugar. The chicken was perfectly cooked, both flavors tasted good but I prefer the soy-garlic flavor more. It has a great umami flavor. We absolutely loved what we had. The sweet and spicy had the perfect spice level, the soy garlic was wonderfully garlic-y and the K Spicy had the kick we were looking for! I had been wanting to try this place for quite some time. We finally were able to pop in for the first time and we were not disappointed. It is a small little restaurant on prater we were unsure of what to order but the gentleman that helped take our order was very helpful and giving us ideas and suggestions on which chicken to order as well as which sauce I ordered the breaded popcorn chicken with rice with the sweet and spicy sauce, my husband ordered the grilled chicken and rice with the soy garlic sauce. Both were full of flavor. The grilled chicken tasted more like a teriyaki sauce. My sauce was a little bit on the more flavorful side. Everything was great that we ordered there. Food was 10/10, nice portions and crunchy chicken we got the k-spicy, which is like gochuchang-based sauce, spicy curry, and some of the soy-based sauces. My favorite was the spicy curry (not really spicy, more curry, powder form). All of them were flavorful and the side of radish is pretty sizable compared to other places. If you want spicy then I would definitely recommend getting the k-spicy wings. My daughter got some popcorn chicken and fries. So fresh and crunchy! Lastly my son got a Korean corn dog and WOW! The wings here are delicious and so crispy , my daughter and I ordered 12 wings with 3 different sauces garlic soy, sweet and spicy and another sauce that started with a g. They were all good and couldn't decide which we liked more. We tried the pickled radish they were a great side with the chicken. The ranch dressing is tasty but you'll probably want more and that will cost a couple bucks. The cafe is clean but small. The staff are pleasant, and ordering is fast if there's a line. We've eaten in and taken out, but takeout is better because it gets hot inside. They don't have a public bathroom, which is inconvenient for a wing place. I'd give 5 stars for quality, taste, and consistency, but the ranch, the hot cafe, and the lack of a bathroom lowered it to 4. The sweet and spicy seemed to be the favorited one so had to get that and it didn't disappoint BUT when I bit into the other flavor I got which was the sweet cheese, my eyes opened up. It had a nice crunch, you can really taste the sweet cheese dry rub. The Korean corn dog was also delicious but I was expecting the melted cheese inside like most Korean corn dogs and it became just a big corn dog covered in sugar (also ketchup and mustard if you desire). Went to a soft open with a limited menu. Chicken wings and chicken sandwich is super crispy and juicy in the middle, not greasy. The chicken sandwich is massive for the price, great value. The Napa salad is fresh unfermented kimchi. The radish is always a must with any Korean chicken. I asked about the drink selection, they are currently working on getting their liquor license because chicken and beer is a must for Korean chicken. Can't wait for this Friday for it to open up. I was really excited to to try the food at this place. Service was good to start. Placed my order and got the food fairly quickly. But the quality was definitely not there. The Korean corn dog is not a corn dog at all. They use a pancake batter on the outside, not corn bread so that was disappointing to start. The taste was just ok. My friend ordered the cheese dog, and the cheese was cold. The dumplings were fair. I also ordered chicken wings. They were battered and crispy outside, but they were half RAW on the inside!!! My friend got the tenders, and they were hard and chewy. I went to the counter and showed them the chicken was still raw. They talked amongst themselves, seemed more like arguing...then offered to remake them. I declined, as up to that point the food was not that great. He just nodded ok. No offer to refund my money for at least the chicken wings, or the meal!!! I left and had a stomachache all night. VERY DISSAPOINTED!!!
