First time here. We went for lunch around 1pm and the place was pretty empty. A few men sitting at the bar but we were the only table. The waitress came over quickly and took our drink orders while we looked over the menu. I ordered the Fire Alarm Burger but with grilled chicken instead and upgraded the fries to onion rings and my friend had the Mushroom & Swiss Burger. He really enjoyed his burger but I'll probably opt for a burger or fish & chips next time. The few minor annoyances I had with my chicken were that the chicken was too thin so it was dry and there was too much sauce on the sandwich which made it really slippery and messy. The onion rings were fantastic. I used a lot of napkins while eating and then had to still wash my hands after. The bathroom was very clean and the service was great. I've worked around this local favorite for years and would stop in and have lunch here occasionally. I can't believe I've never reviewed them. They're nothing fancy, but they have all the components that matter: Good food and great service. A girlfriend of mine who bartends in town loves this place and everyone knows her by name. My last visit in was to meet her for brunch, so we could play catch up. We started with a few mimosas. For food we shared a bacon burger, blta sandwich and a Buffalo chicken salad. The burger and salad were so good! Who doesn't love mix and match?! I personally love variety. We sat a table so we could visit more privately. Staff and service were great and by the time we were ready for boxes, the place filled up with regulars. They offered to buy us another one, but we had to get going. Tonight I came in to Blitz Bar & Grill to play with my pool league. This is a great place to have a nite out and watch sports as well as play pool and darts. There are 3 active pool tables. Nice!!! I ordered a Bacon lettuce tomato and Avocado sandwich with a side salad. A big meal for a fair price. The bar is really nice with Jack Daniel's flags and nice lighting. A beautiful vase of flowers on the bar. Karen is the Bartender as well as the server. Great job Karen. This is a clean and nice place to hang with friends and family. Went earlier for taco Tuesday (after hearing great things and reading great reviews!) it stinks like an old bowling alley in there and the food was gross. Pretty sure I got food poisoning.. Another hidden surprise. A co-worker suggested this place, it's located at the corner of Rock and Hymer. There is ample parking. I arrived early so wasn't busy for lunch yet. When you enter it is an upscale dive sports bar. There are a lot of tables, high and low to sit at or the large bar area. They have pool tables and possibly more but did tour much today. I was immediately welcomed by staff and asked if I was dinning in or taking out. I chose to stay and ordered the BYOB Burger with fries. It was cooked to order perfectly, one of the better burgers I've had in Reno/Sparks. For the size and quality of food, it was very reasonably priced. I love a good "dive bar" that has heart and soul but still looks clean enough that you would trust eating there. Blitz is just the perfect place for this! We came here a few years ago and haven't wanted to come back ever since because the burger was THAT good. We decided to meet a friend here on a Friday night at 5pm, and much to our delight, discovered that happy hour was still going on for 30 more minutes. Service was excellent, we were immediately greeted and seated and the server knew every single beer right off the top of her head. Amazing beer selection and great happy hour prices. The menu is huge! We decided to order the blue cheese burger with fries, the Buffalo chicken salad, and our friend ordered a quesadilla. Food came out pretty quickly and of course we loved the burger just as we remembered. My salad was excellent and was served with 2 sides of garlic, Texas toast. The fried chicken on my salad was cooked perfectly and served with a side of your choice of dressing (I chose blue cheese, surprise surprise) They even brought out an avocado separately for me to add in. To be fair (insert Letterkenny reference here), I play on a pool league two nights a week at Blitz. I am what some might cynically call a "captive audience." That doesn't change one very important fact: of all the bars I walk into every week, this will always be favorite. It's home. It's one step above dive-y. Two steps down from trendy and in a different ZIP code than hipster. This is a quintessential Nevada bar. There's lots of room to sit at the bar or tables. The bathrooms are always clean. The pool tables are free to use (good luck on a league night, though ). The staff is friendly, happy and always ready to make you feel special. Oh, yeah.. there's food, too. This is where Blitz sets itself apart. We've all had pub grub. Pizza made from recycled banana boxes. Burgers made from recycled tires. Beer made from recycled... Well, you get the idea. Blitz takes pride in their product. The beer is cold and served in clean glasses. The mixed drinks are not watered down or short-poured. Nope. These people are professionals. That is evidenced in every plate which leaves the kitchen. Yeah. Kitchen. Not a microwave and air fryer in the corner. A real, honest to Julia Child kitchen. From there they serve burgers from Blue Ribbon Meats, super fresh salads, mouth-watering pulled pork sandwiches, mountains of real nachos, and...(wait for it)... Tater Tots! Of course they have fries, too, but the extra crispy Tetris-inspired tots are one of my favorites. Definitely try them smothered in chili and cheese. I won't even try to do justice to their breakfast menu. The standard disclaimers apply here. The food is made to order and fresh so don't be surprised when the server isn't slinging it across your table 30 seconds after your order. It's absolutely worth the handful of minutes it takes to make it properly. I'd love to show you pictures of the food, but I'm usually happily chewing the last bite when I remember to take photos. Don't overlook this place if you're looking for a sports bar! It is unassuming from the outside, one of several businesses in a large strip mall. Right across the street from Revision, so I'm sure that takes away some of their beer drinking business. I work nearby and came here after work with several of my coworkers. We were surprised to see how busy it was on a Thursday evening! We had no problem getting a table despite how many people were here. They have several pool tables that were all full of people playing match after match. There are many TVs showing different sports events. There was one waitress who does it all! She was the bartender for our drinks, took our orders, brought out our food, and was our cashier at the end. Despite them being busy, she still checked on us frequently and did everything in a timely manner; it was quite impressive. You can tell she knows most of the people who come in here as regulars. Drinks are affordable and came out quickly when ordered. Their food menu is massive, they have every type of bar food you could want! Plus several specials throughout the week. I went with a french dip, it was served with au jus and french fries. I was impressed with the quality of the food, it was better than I expected for sports bar food. The quantity was also quite large for only costing $14.99. I'm sure we will be back for more post-work day hangouts! read more

The sandwich was very large and enough to take home for another meal. My son enjoyed a huge sandwich of chicken and ham, and some other items that I have already forgot. He had a side order of beer-battered onion rings. They were authentically beer flavored, crispy and tasty. The service was prompt, and non-intrusive. I appreciate that. Being that I had Tacos on the brain since Sunday, knowing that Cinco de Mayo was around the corner the first place that popped into my mind for delicious tacos was Blitz. This used to be an old work lunch stomping grounds years back. I called the day before and they are offering curbside! Yesss!! The tacos were just like I remember them crispy, overflowing and full of sabor. On top of that they were serving margaritas to-go! What a way to turn the day around! Being Taco Tuesday beef tacos are $1.69 instead of $2.00. I ordered three for myself plus three chicken tacos for a family member plus one margarita and it came out to $17. Not too shabby! We stumbled upon this place because we were nearby and hungry. Decided to check it out. We were surprised to see the inside, it has pool tables and many TVs on the wall. We sat by the bar and were quickly greeted and made feel at home. What I liked the most about the place is that it is non smoking so definitely a place where you can come watch a game or play a game of pool with friends and family over some drinks. The food was a little disappointing. I feel their impression is to add bacon to anything and that makes it better. I had the fire burger, came with chipotle aioli, jalapeños and bacon. They were out of the chipotle aioli and to be honest that was the only reason I ordered so I was already disappointed. No worries, I mixed some hot sauce and Mayo and have it a little chance. The burger was burned on the edges even though it was supposed to be medium cook. It was ok. The fries were meh... no flavor, no seasoning, just frozen fries straight out of the bag. Good thing they give you ranch sauce, ketchup, Mayo and hot sauce so you can try to add some flavor. My buddy had the blue cheese burger. He said it was ok but didn't quite finished it. Maybe he was full. I had a chicken avocado sandwich to go for my wife's dinner. It was my mistake to no think it through and by the time I got home the bread was all soggy and wet. I was able to save it by taking the other half top bread and just making a half sandwich. I warmed it up in the oven along with the fries. My wife's opinion of the fries were same as mine and didn't eat more than a couple of fries. She was happy with the sandwich. I would definitely come back to this place, the atmosphere seems nice, pool tables, TVs to watch a game or fight, enjoy some drinks. Paired with the amazing beers coming out of Revision Brewing Co, just across the street, you'd have discovered why Reno is one of the best places to eat and drink simply, honestly, and very very well. Service was outstanding given that it was essentially just a one-person service team...but this place is so homey that regulars pitch in. After we left we said this is our kind of place. We've been wanting to try this place for a while and finally had a chance. It was about 4:30pm on a Saturday. We walked into the place and it wasn't very busy, just a few other customers. We had a seat at the bar and were quickly greeted by the bartender, and I hope I remember correctly, Tracy. We ordered drinks and she provided us menus and signed me up for their players club. She also let me sample a beer before ordering. It looked like they have 13 taps. They have happy hour Monday through Friday from 3:30pm to 5:30pm and Friday and Saturday from 9pm to 10pm. The place is clean and spacious and non-smoking. There are Tv's all over the place. They have several dart boards and we saw something about a dart league. They also have karaoke on Friday nights. We decided upon a pulled pork quesadilla, full order of nachos along with a ham and Swiss cheese sandwich with fries. Regular prices are very reasonable. I think each of them were less than $8 a piece. Our orders arrived quickly and looked delicious. There was a ton of food!!! And, everything tasted delicious. The vibe was very comfortable and you could tell that Tracy has a good relationship with the customers. We enjoyed chatting with them and learning more about the 4th of July festivities. Came here right after we visited Revision Brewing right across the street. I'm still disappointed that Revision Brewing doesn't offer any food (or even light snacks), but I'm glad I found this place. It's actually a 1 minute walk across the street from Revision Brewing, and I was very impressed with the entire package here. The food here was fantastic IMO, but maybe that was because I was already loaded up on IPAs and any food would have done the trick. We came on a Tuesday, which is Taco Tuesday here. I ordered 1 of each taco (Ground Beef, Chicken, Fish, Carne Asada), and thought they were all very tasty. If I had to choose, I'd say the Chicken and Carne Asada were my favorites. I also ordered the Loaded Fries starter, and housed the whole thing by myself. The pulled pork was extremely tasty, the fries were crispy. The food here I thought was VERY good, and the pricing was spot on. As far as everything else, the atmosphere in the bar was laid back, plenty of seating available (bar height tables as well as regular dining tables), pool tables & dart boards looked to be in good shape, good amount of TVs, the service was very personal (waitress was friendly and talkative), great music (Alice in Chains, Nirvana, etc), and most importantly the dining area AND bathrooms were very clean. I wouldn't say this is a MUST DO if you're visiting Sparks / Reno and want to maximize your time doing "touristy" things, but if you're going to be going to Revision Brewing for beer tasting, I'd consider coming to this place after a MUST. If you're a local in Sparks / Reno, I would highly recommend giving this place a try. Overall, the whole package of food, pricing, atmosphere, and service is a STRONG 5. read more

I have come to the Blitz bar and grill twice now, both times with my coworkers for lunch. It is a decent size place, with two dollar drafts, two dollar well drinks, and a full menu. I have eaten the French dip both visits. Both times it has been fairly good. The roll isn't too hard or mushy, and the meat is plentiful. Service is good, and everyone here seems to enjoy themselves. This is a family run business. They get plenty of business during the lunch rush, but I would think that a late or early lunch would be a little quieter. The bar seating offers poker games at each seat, and there is an area with dartboards if you are willing to give it a try. They actually have a dart league that plays here. The burgers look fabulous, I just haven't had one yet. This is definitely a place you should try! read more

Unfortunately good service can't overcome poor business practices and mid-grade food. I've eaten here twice and both times the wait to get my order and my drinks was very long. It took 18 minutes to get my order in. The waitress did her best but she was just overwhelmed with the number of people. When I finally ordered it took another long time to get my food. The grilled chicken sandwich I ordered was not great The chicken breast was dry, crunchy, and tough. It felt like it had been on the grill too long. The rest of the food was pretty good. The lettuce was fresh and crisp, the tomato was thin but tasty. The crinkle cut fried were really good and I appreciated the light salt. When I got my receipt I noticed that the price was 1$ more than the menu price. When I asked the waitress she explained that the owner had marked up the process and put a disclaimer on the menu that "prices may vary" Even though it is over of the closer places to the industrial areas, I'll drive further into town to get better food. read more

We decided to watch a Cubs game at Blitz's because I had come across some good reviews on Yelp. While it's out of our neck of the woods and a good eight miles from home, we still wanted to go some place different for my boyfriends birthday and to watch his favorite baseball team. When we pulled into the parking lot it was a little sketchy, I'm not gonna lie. There were a few guys outside smoking and they looked like regulars. We walked by them as they stared at us awkwardly and we proceeded through the odd looking front door. The inside is very open and very large and it was also very loud. There was a group of young adults most likely celebrating something. The huge square bar had many vacant seats, aside from the loud group of six or so. We picked a couple of seats to the side and asked for the Cubs game to be turned on one of their many television screens. The bartender introduced herself as Tracy and she was very informative about the menu and the current beers on tap. My mind was still deciding on what to drink and the bartenders didn't hesitate to keep asking for my order. I finally asked for a whiskey and coke with a cherry and received it immediately. However, they don't have any cherries here. We also ordered up some teriyaki chicken wings and they were okay. To me, they seemed old and freezer burned then thrown into the fryer, but my boyfriend thought there was an ample amount of meat on them. They were served with baby carrots, celery, and a plastic cup of ranch with a lid, which I did not eat. When my boyfriends mom showed up to watch the game with us she felt like drinking a cocktail and asked for a Moscow mule. Tracy told us they didn't have ginger ale or mint at this bar. Mostly, Blitz's is good for beer, shots, booze, and simple food. She decided on a Blue Moon and the chips & salsa. I will say the chips were very good, they were served warm and the salsa was extremely tasty. I'm a huge salsa connoisseur and I felt I could drink this salsa. It had just the right amount of heat and texture. There were so many chips in the basket after the salsa was gone so for only 50 cents we had to order a side of nacho cheese sauce. This made everyone happy. Everything was a good deal because our total bill at the end of the night was only $17. Of course, we were playing a little bit of video poker and keno and most of our drinks were comped. My boyfriend accidentally left his birthday present from his mom on the bar and he realized when we got home. He quickly called Tracy to see if she could keep it there and that he's be in the next day to pick it up. FYI: Blitz's is closed on Sunday's, so he picked it up on his lunch break on Monday and they had it waiting for him. For being newbies and feeling like outsiders, Blitz's was okay. We might go back again in the future for some gambles and chips, but we won't make this our go-to hang out. read more

The environment reminds me of Legends Sports Bar, with a super friendly server and bartender and a standard sports bar feel. Plenty of TV's to catch all the games. Tons of space for all your friends to pile in on TACO TUESDAY!!! They have a pool table and several dart boards. Been several times for TACO TUESDAY and never left disappointed. The chicken tacos are the best I've ever had and the house (ground beef) are up there on the list too. Chips are served fresh out of the fryer and the salsa needs to be bottled and delivered to my house on a daily basis.... Yea it's that good.
