Basco is known for being a very high end store....catering to the elite. However, I am here to report that Basco is for EVERYONE. After going to several "discount" appliance locations, looking for a dishwasher, my mom and I decided to give Basco a try. Wow! Am I sure glad we did. The sales people are knowledgeable and approachable. They offer a wide range of options. They were not only able to meet my mom and I within our budget, but actually beat the prices of all of the other "discount" appliance locations out there. PERIOD. A special "shout out" to the logistics and delivery team! From sales to delivery...... Basco is a well oiled machine. We love our new dishwasher. Not one scratch or ding! The second they got a deposit down on our order, communication for the remainder of the sales process was terrible. I couldn't even get a callback to determine whether my order was available for pickup. They performed an LP conversion on my stove at their warehouse location and did not convert all 12 jets; they only converted 11. The remaining jet was badly damaged, as if someone couldn't get it unstuck. I have been trying to contact customer service for fourteen days now and have not responded to my emails and calls. read more

The LO location has salespeople that tell you what you want to hear until they have your money then communication stops. Seems to be a common situation with one sales guy in particular. I have taken my remodeling clients elsewhere after 2 horrible sales situations with the same sales guy. read more

I had an unusual situation to fit a new washer and dryer into. Small, cramped space to fit it in. I had looked at other places and the customer service person at Basco was the only one that took the time to advise what would work. One of the worst places to buy anything. Poor service and could careless what happens after you buy there appliances. Bought a washer and dryer from them and the washer broke after 2 months. They said there was nothing they could do. Had to buy another washer to match after that they were your best friend. read more

Working with Basco Appliances for what should have been an easy purchase and installation of a new refrigerator and freezer turned out to be a multi- month fiasco. Their level of incompetence was stunning. Customer service awful. They overcharged us and we had to fight to get money back. They sent the wrong appliances and then tried to charge us for returns. I could go on but prefer to forget about this nightmare. I rarely write Yelp reviews but hope this review prevents others from having our miserable experience. My wife and I purchased all of our new home appliances from Basco. I also relied on the company for ongoing appliance replacements at 18 rental properties. When we ran into reliability issues with the expensive range for our home, customer service disappeared like air from a child's balloon. Though I never raised my voice or disrespected employees, my request to meet with Basco leadership was ignored. Initially, our experiences started out great. Nice Lake Oswego showroom with all the styles of dual range stoves we wanted to consider and Chris, our sales rep was knowledge. Once we purchased the range (on 7/12/25) it's been a nightmare getting it installed. The installation vendor would not call us back despite left multiple messages and we contacted Chris to tell him we were getting nowhere with the installation vendor. Multiple times my husband called, we had to leave messages or emails for Chris and he spoke to Chris ONCE during these past two months in follow up. The vendor finally called back for install date on 9/4/25--no call the night before for window of installation (like all my previous appliance installations). By today, the date of installation, neither I or my husband had heard from the installation vendor by 2 PM. I left a relatively upset message for Chris telling him of our extreme displeasure for lack of communication from him and installation vendor since the range purchase. Despite the upset tone of my call, I never heard back from Chris, even as courtesy for follow up or concern. Finally, the installation vendor called my husband at 3:00 pm to say they were arriving at 3:30 PM and are installing the range as we speak. When I asked the installers why they never returned our calls, never even left a voicemail message for us, their excuse for no returned calls or voicemails over past almost 2 months--"we are extremely busy". We have purchased all our previous appliances through Standard TV and Appliances and despite what appears to be bad rap given to them in reviews I have seen, they had been always courteous, and installation vendors, without fail, called the night prior to the installation for confirmation window, and showed up within that time frame and did a great job. We thought we would try Basco Appliance because of friend and colleague recommendations---never again for ANY appliances. Horrible follow up service--it's like once the appliance is sold, your business is concluded, period. DO NOT recommend them! read more

This review is about a sales rep Chris at the pearl district Basco....first he was incredibly helpful and patient with our visits to their store to purchase 4 appliances....while we made the "final" decision we ran into a small design error with our contractors and realized we needed to go from a 36" range hood to a 30" one...this was not anticipated and when we called Chris he was very professional and even though we had told him our initial decision was final this last minute tweak created a headache for him!! Like most of the folks writing reviews here, I had a terrible experience with Basco.  My landlord used them to replace the stackable washer/dryer in my apartment, and it was a complete disaster. On delivery day, three kids showed up who seemed like they hadn't hooked up an appliance in their lives...  and I'm pretty sure they hadn't. They immediately damaged the linoleum in the laundry closet moving it in and then left me with a brand new appliance that didn't even work! When I was finally able to get a GE repairmen out, he informed me that "someone" must have lifted the unit via the wash basin next to the giant stickers that clearly say "Do not lift here!" and bent it.  The GE guy was able to bend it back into place so the lid could connect with the closed lid sensor properly.  Soon after this I finally got to use the dryer and noticed that the apartment got hot when it was on.  Eventually this tripped the "high limit thermostat" and the dryer stopped working. So I called GE again.  The repairman discovered that, (as I suspected) the dryer exhaust tube wasn't even attached in back.  So either the Basco delivery kids didn't even bother to hook it up properly, or they did a piss poor job and it blew off the first time the dryer was turned on. This likely caused high levels of CO2 to be released every time I used the dryer, which (while thankfully not Carbon Monoxide) can still cause health problems and a condition called Hypercapnia that can negatively effect both your mental and physical health. So months later, after needing to have GE come out and repair a brand new unit TWICE, it looks like I have a working appliance.  The whole experience costed me numerous days of waiting around for repairmen, weeks without a washer/dryer...  and possible health issues. I would highly recommend that anyone looking to buy an appliance stay far away from Basco.  They appear to be unable to sell and deliver appliances in a professional manner. read more

Harry Bustamante was my sales person. He was horrible! Sold me a Fulgor Milano wall oven and cooktop last year in July. I paid an installer $1300 to install both. The wall oven wouldn't work. I called Harry and he assured me they wouid send a repair company while waiting on a replacement from Italy. LIES LIES LIES!!! Repair company came out 6 times in 8 months and never got it working. Harry never returned a call. He spoke with me one time to blow smoke. I called his boss Cory who was even worse. He told me they had more ovens (multiple) and that I could pay to have a replacement installed!!! I will never use Basco again! read more

I want to share what a great experience we had working with Basco ...regrettably, I cannot. Purchasing a new range top and range hood from Basco was one of the worst purchasing experiences we have had since moving to the Portland Metro area! We ordered the appliances on 6.2.2023 from Lake Oswego in person. When we checked on the delivery in July Basco warehouse, the Basco salesman had no status, but the front desk told us that the appliances were in the warehouse and had been there for a week. After we paid the remainder due for the appliances, we arranged for our installer to pick up the range hood and range top. When he got to the Basco warehouse Basco was unbale to find the range hood that Basco had confirmed was ready for pick up and that we had paid for in full! The Basco salesman was unresponsive in resolving this for us and matter of fact to our situation. I wasn't until I contacted the Director of Stores for Basco, Cary Ely, that anything resembling resolution began. After that call the salesman called us to tell me that they did not have another hood, still could not find a replacement for the lost hood and would have to order a new one from the factory. Lead time was anywhere from 30-45 days to get the replacement. Once again, communication updates from Basco were poor unless we reached out to Basco. The range hood according to Basco arrived on or about 20 Sep 2023. We arranged with our installer to pick the appliances up on Oct 2, 2023, but not until Basco refunded 10% of the purchase price for this total FU. We were prepared to get a refund for the appliances becuase of how badly Basco had handled this mess... but we chose to stick with the order based on the refund. Dealing with Basco was a painful and frustrating experience. We had other kitchen work that needed to be rescheduled during this time period due to Basco losing the range hood. Basco never apologized for any of this. read more

Our washing machine suddenly quit on us last month and wanting a high quality replacement, we found Basco Appliances with the great appliance brands that they rep. The instore sales rep was great, set us up with a top end Speed Queen and got us a quick delivery...that was when everything soured. When I got home on the day of our delivery, I found our new Speed Queen had some scrape marks, was out of balance, washer/screen filters had not been inserted in the hoses per the manual and we now had a leaky water faucet. When I spoke with Thomas, he assured me all would be fine. He : 1. Offered a $100 credit once I provide a photo of the scapes on the washer 2. Indicated he would send a rep to balance the washer and assess the faucet leak. 3. Assured me that the washer/screens came already installed in the new set of hoses we had purchased from Basco The follow up? 1. Today, four weeks later we are still awaiting the $100 credit for the washer scrapes 2. When the rep came out, he dismissed the level my wife provided and rocked the washer and simply stated it was in balance. As far as the faucet, he or Thomas (can't recall who) stated we should just call a plumber. 3. When I replaced the faucet myself earlier today, I discovered the the hoses did not contain the washer/filter inserts and installed them myself. This is not at all the treatment I would expect from a high end, high priced store like Basco. I have sent a reminder about the credit and hope we see that soon. Basco will be at the bottom of our list next time we need a high end appliance. Hopefully others will not share our experience...but beware of their back end delivery and installation services. We paid for a "deluxe delivery" but the delivery and set up left much to be desired. Basco sadly does not match the high quality of the brands they represent. read more

They promised me I would be the first stop in the morning, since it was now going on six weeks of waiting. When they DID NOT SHOW UP I called "Timothy" the delivery coordinator who then claimed I was not even scheduled for a morning time slot. They finally come some time after 1p and finish installation, after leaving me hanging for five hours on a Saturday. THEN, I come home later that evening and the washer is LEAKING WATER. Ruining my floors. I called "John" back who had done the installation. Time was about 6:30pm. He informed me he was off the clock. Would not provide any further guidance or assistance and hung up the phone on me . read more

Between their schedule and ongoing renovations we will be without a stove for about a month. Next step is to call thermador customer service. DOA is bad for everyone. Ordered 6/7 months ago , yes it took that long for a dishwasher , then was told it was here and will be delivered, then told they can't find it . If I could give them negative stars I would. Horrendous customer service. -Bought 5 appliances September of 2021--was told they'd be arriving January 2022. -Middle of January rolls around and no word from them. Called several times, and when I finally got the salesman on the phone was told all five would be ready to go by March. Weird, but in this case I didn't need them till May. -Called up end of April; salesman needed to "check the status." Had to call them a few days latter because they have no idea how to pick up a phone to call me back and was told delivery would be end of May. -The third week in May I ask them for a solid delivery date--was told they only deliver to Salem twice a month, and that they didn't see my order anywhere on their list of deliveries for this month. Turns out I had missed both days in May. Rescheduled the delivery for mid June. -Finally delivered in June. I had a construction setback so didn't get around to taking the applicances out of the boxes till mid-August. Had to pick my jaw up off the floor because they got two of the three appliances completely wrong--both color and type. Basco had one job to do--deliver the correct order to the correct place. How do you screw up the one thing you have to get correct? -Called mid August to get the appliances I had ordered, instead of the what they had delivered. When I finally did get the salesman on the phone he blamed the screw up on "an employee no longer with the company." You'd have to put me on a train to the land of make believe if you expect me to believe that. Was told that the earliest I could expect delivery was mid October. That's 13 months from the original date of order. 13 months! Throughout the process I was the one following up. I was the one asking for updates. Not once did I receive a call letting me know any information whatsoever. To date I have not received a single returned call in spite of over a dozen messages left. Not one call back from: the salesman, the sales manager, or the customer service manager Dana (still not sure what her role is). I don't know how these people are still in business. If there's ever a class action lawsuit for intentional misrepresentation, sign me up. read more

I bought an Electrolux washer and dryer in January 2022. The first problem was with delivery and installation. I specified the washer hinge should be on the right and the dryer hinge on the left. They were the opposite. Also, the dryer was installed without putting on the feet, so it was unstable. Next, the dryer stopped working after two months. I understand that is Electrolux's fault, not Basco's. I contacted Basco and requested service. I soon heard from a repair shop. But they could not service the machine for a month. That's not acceptable since the dryer gets used every day. I called Basco. No one answered and there was no way to leave a voicemail. I then sent a written communication asking that they arrange for service sooner than 30 days out. I have never received any response to that communication. Since Basco plainly didn't care about my brand new but broken dryer, I arranged for service. I was able to get someone out to repair the dryer in just two days. Now it's fixed. In an amusing coda to this story, I received an email from Electrolux about buying an extended warranty. Why would I buy an extended warranty when the warranty I have is worthless? read more

Just bought a washer and dryer from Basco. It was a little bit cheaper (for same mode) than Standard, and Basco didn't charge me for the extra pieces for the installation which Standard charges for. Basco had the items in stock and could deliver a week before Standard could. Will definitely use Basco in the future. read more

This would be a one star review if it had just been for the bosch dishwasher they sold me that died in 8 months. Since it was the pandemic I couldn't get a repairman in here to fix it. Neither they nor Bosch honored the warranty. However I totally love the range hood I bought through them. that craig recommended. he really knew what cfu's were needed for the bluestar range I bought as well. Getting the extra part for the range was a huge fiasco with them not able to locate it in the warehouse and having to order it again. So 3 stars. Great for somethings, but I am not sure they don't stock appliances with known defects (the dishwasher is getting one star reviews at lowes). I would have given them 5 stars when I ordered the three appliances for technical knowledge alone, but the losing of parts and lack of response when having appliance failures within a short time loses them two stars. read more

This is a high end new appliance store catering to builders. They have probably furnished many a fancy Pearl District condo kitchen and laundry room. They have once a year warehouse sales too, but I haven't been. I got a dishwasher and refrigerator, good quality but not extravagant models. To get the best deal a tactic is to first pick the exact make and model number of the appliance you need by visiting the store. Then send or fax a request for quote on the letterhead of your friend's contractor or architect business. Be sure to indicate that you are sending the same request to the other large appliance suppliers in town and note whether delivery is included. This allowed me to get a great wholesale price, you are a building industry pro too - right? Knowledgeable show room staff, high quality new appliances, best price in the city. read more

I have had good luck in the past with Basco, but this time is different. I emailed Jason 4 times and left 1 voice message with a live person and never heard back from anyone. I recently purchased a Maytag washer and drier and was told the delay timer was 12 hours. It's not. The manual says 12 hours, the company says 12 hours, but it is 8. When I go to bed I do not want to hear the washer go on in the middle of the night. The machine has a warranty, so Refrigeration Hospital came out and also had to call Maytag. They told him the manual is incorrect. I never would have purchased a machine with less than 12 hours. Once you've used one you know what I mean. I'm very upset, but more because Basco never responded to my emails or calls. Is it just Jason or is it Basco? read more

Buy your appliance here not Home Depot! Basco was cheaper and customer service was much better. After a nightmare fridge return with Home Depot we bought a beautiful LG here. Delivery was quick and efficient and the item was actually in stock which is never the case with the Big Box stores. We are coming back for another purchase soon. read more

My experience in the showroom was fine. Most of the issues stemmed from the delivery company and then Basco seemingly not caring once I paid. I specifically chose Basco to purchase appliances over a warehouse-type of store, because I wanted to buy from a business that cares about customers and stands behind their service. The challenges with the delivery company are below. - delivery of the fridge was attempted, but they saw my old fridge was connected to a copper water line, which they refused to touch, and so they left with the new fridge and this was a wasted day I spent waiting for them and off of work. I was never told there would be an issue with copper pipes that would preclude them from doing their job. If anyone ever said anything, or bothered to ask, about specific types of piping, we could have made other plans and not wasted everyone's time. I have a hard time believing I am the only person in Portland with copper water pipes. - delivery of the w/d was attempted, but when they pulled my old w/d away from the wall to disconnect them, they felt that the connection was too tight to unscrew and they weren't willing to try any further. They informed me they would return once I called a plumber to unscrew the connection. - the 1 positive was the dishwasher installer recommended by Basco (he was recommended, not contracted, I paid him myself.) He was competent, professional, and helpful. He made the delivery company look even more ridiculous. Not only did he install the d/w without incident, he also dealt with the above issues out of kindness. He easily disconnected the fridge from the copper line (and was unafraid to) and easily disconnected the w/d from the hookup. He is the type of person I expected Basco to be contracting with across the board. - the delivery company called me unexpectedly to re-deliver the fridge (I assume they had a cancellation) which I agreed to because I happened to have the day off and can't take time out from a work day (I'm in health care). I later regretted this when I got in trouble with the condo board for not scheduling the delivery in advance. This is when we discovered one of the french doors of the fridge could not be fully opened because the space was too tight by not even 1 cm. I take full responsibility for this as I was the one who measured. Many of you are probably more savvy at nice appliances than I am, but next time I buy a french door refrigerator I will have the representative go over all the ways in which you need to measure and how the edge of the doors when opened will be affected by the cut out space in your kitchen. Basco certainly didn't bring this up and I was too naive to ask). Because I had gotten into trouble with this delivery (and the fine is $500), I chose to have my contractor try to make it work rather than return it immediately, and go through yet another delivery. - when my contractor couldn't make a sufficient adjustment, I communicated with my salesperson about returning the fridge and getting a different one, and we planned to return the fridge (for only a partial refund, which I accepted). The delivery company scheduled with me to pick up the fridge on a Saturday, which was my only day off that week. They confirmed the scheduled pick up via text a few days prior, which I responded to and confirmed. I emptied out the fridge and waited for them the entire day at home. They never showed, nor did they even bother to call to tell me they were not coming. It's still shocking to me that I never heard anything from them, never mind an apology for the total lack of professionalism they showed. Who does that? I subsequently called them multiple times and left voicemails to reschedule, and they never picked up the phone nor returned my voicemails. We went into more Covid surges, I was busy in the ICU and I just gave up calling them honestly. - the above is from an email I sent my salesperson at Basco as feedback. I didn't receive a response. This entire experience was so bizarre, I can't quite figure it out. I only spent about $5000, so perhaps I am just not worthwhile as a customer? Surely the delivery company can't be like this with everyone? Regardless, while the delivery company was the source of problems, I expected Basco to follow through on their sales and ensure delivery is accomplished. I don't know if the delivery company is consistently this difficult to work with or if it was just with me, but regardless, they reflect on Basco very poorly. For anyone that is looking at buying from Basco because it has a brand you want, I get it, but hopefully this helps you go into it with realistic expectations. 2017 Midyear - They sold me a high end Viking dishwasher for list price. Then called a month later and told me that it arrived damaged. And they had another year old model that they'd give me for a discount of 150$. We just needed one so we went with it. 6 months later the door broke and we called the Viking repair guy. They came out and looked at the unit and told us it was from 2014 and the part was not available. Pain in the buttocks. Now the door slams open possibly injuring a small child. Viking finally calls and tells us they are sending a brand new unit to Basco to have ours replaced. 6 weeks later zero response from Basco. We feel ripped off for sure. I placed an order for a washer and dryer one week ago and was told that they would be delivered in a week. Someone called yesterday to say that it would be delivered 16 days after the purchase. I told him that my paperwork stated otherwise, and he said he would look into the situation and call me back. Having not heard from him in more than 24 hrs I called Basco and got a completely different story and date, but the date is still too far out. I talked to the sales rep -- Chris -- and got nowhere. I'm not impressed with their service and wouldn't have chosen to do business with them if I'd known how long I'd have to wait. read more

Customer service is absolutely terrible at Basco! I bought a $6555.00 grill that was delivered and had a large dent in it. It also leaked gas. It took 3 months to get it replaced. There was very poor communication from Basco as I had to constantly call/email for updates. I had to even find an installer. Sometimes I left messages for updates and after a while I stopped getting any replies. They ignored my calls and e-mails leaving me contemplating legal assistance. I do not recommend buying anything from Basco. They weren't there for me when I needed customer service/support and getting a replacement was like pulling teeth! All they care about is the sale. God help you if you need any support. They don't care! Horrible buying experience!!! Beware!! read more

Very disappointing. I need a new dishwasher, looking for an ADA model from GE or another known brand. Texted a few times Friday, Saturday around noon I asked for him to call me so we could discuss ordering. I did not hear back. Monday about 10:30 am l called the store. The person I texted is off on Monday l was told. I was transfered to someones voicemail but they never called back. It seems they don't want to sell appliances as neither person called today. (Tuesday) Late yesterday I did order from a big box store but Basco's lack of courtesy/follow through is telling. You can only buy from a local business if they are willing to work with you. Recently purchased a gas range and micirwave at Basco. While we're happy with the purchase the experience with our sales rep Tim Gruwell was a complete disaster. For someone that claims being I the business for over 30 years Tim lacked follow up and follow through. I always had to call or reach out to figure where we were at with things. Just the worst experience I've ever had. Needless to say will not be doing business with Basco ever again. So buyer beware, stay way from Tim Gruwell! Customer Service is not his thing. read more

As part of an extensive remodel, we purchased $15k worth of appliances from Basco, including a new $5k refrigerator. It leaked, warping the newly installed custom cabinets. It took Basco a few weeks but they eventually got us a new one. When I asked them about being reimbursed for the cost of repairing the warped cabinets (which totaled $2k) they referred me to the manufacturer, Liebherr and suggested I ask for a manager. I contacted Liebherr's customer service but could not get through to a manager. The service representative was inefficient and rude. I asked our Sales Representative at Basco for help and was told "this isn't a conversation a manufacturer has with a dealer". In other words, you're on your own. After several weeks of silence I contacted Basco's General Manager and again asked for help. He sent a letter to his distributor. I never heard a word from the distributor and neither the General Manager or Sales Representative from Basco have followed up. I continued to reach out to Liebherr directly but they basically stone walled me. Eventually, after a few months, I posted on their Facebook page and miraculously got an immediate response. They ended up offering to cover half of the cost of the repairs, an offer I have not yet accepted. I read other Yelp reviews and I guess if you are lucky enough to purchase an appliance with no problems you rate Basco well. If you are not lucky, and pay $5k for a lemon, you're on your own. I am stunned at the lack of communication between a manufacturer, a distributor and a dealer. Customers are truly left to their own devices to resolve problems. I am VERY disappointed in Basco's management. Based on their poor communication, terrible customer service and lack of follow through I would never do business with them again. read more

We purchased a Fulgor double oven from Basco. We had an issue with the top oven door. I emailed Fulgor five months ago and never received a return response to have warranty work done to the door. I contacted Myron at Basco and he generated a work order for us. The work was completed in about two weeks. We are very happy with Basco in standing behind the products they sell. I spent $2000 on a refrigerator at BASCO yesterday. I was told it would be delivered today between 3 and 5pm, and that I would receive a phone call 30 minutes before they would arrive. At 4:50 I started calling about why I hadn't even received even the promised phone call, because I knew that no one at BASCO would pick up a ringing phone after the 5pm closing time. On my first call I was sent to a voice mail. On my 2nd call I was hung up on. On my 3rd call I was told by the person who picked up the phone that he would call the delivery people to find out what was going on, and the call me back immediately. He lied. He just flat out lied. Its 5:30, and as I said, no one is willing to pick up the phone after 5pm. My schedule is now all screwed up because I'm supposed to be somewhere else after 5pm and I don't know if the fridge is going to show up late. I can't go because I'm the only one who can let the delivery people in, if they bother to show up. But I'm a fool. I stopped work early so I could get all of the food out of the old fridge they promised to pick up, so the delivery people wouldn't have to wait while I did that. Now I've got the entire contents of the old fridge warming up on the counter. What do you do with a company that doesn't do what they said they would do, or train their employees to behave like professionals and to have at least a little bit of respect for their customers. read more
