Had an absolutely stellar experience working with Chris Snawder at the Basco Outlet. We went there for one reason and then ended up ordering something else through Chris, that process went well and came through at a better price than anyone else in the city. Then when a previously initiated appliance deal with Sears went south, Chris was able to step in and again provide better service and price than anyone else. Edited to update. Basco replaced the unit after filing with BBB, Credit Card and Yelp/Google reviews. I would hope in the future that it would not take such measures for your customers to have a resolution for an expensive product purchased. Thank you for looking after it. We purchased multiple appliances from Basco delivered in June 2020. In October the oven light of our new Dacor range stopped working. Basco referred us to The Appliance Hospital. Mid November, the technician came and left and we were told parts were on order, but it may be a wait. A couple weeks later the oven (bake temp) ceased to heat at all, we booked another repair - Christmas Eve. Appliance hospital called us in the morning to cancel, saying that there was nothing they could do and parts were already on order. Early January, I went to use the broiler and the interior of the oven ignited into an inferno of flames. I was very lucky that I did not have the oven door open, otherwise I am sure that I would have 3rd degree burns. We called Basco again to tell them that the oven was now a serious fire hazard and asked them to check on parts and follow up for us with the repair. we were again told that parts were on back order with no ETA. After frustration with no ETA, we called the Dacor ourselves today, who delivered the news that there are NO RECORDS of any parts being order for our oven. None. We are not sure where the chain of communication has broken down, and we feel we have been very patient waiting, given Covid, added time to parts. However to learn this morning that no parts have been ordered for us, now an additional 2 weeks until another service person (this time Dacor is sending another service company) to just look at the appliance. Then we can assume additional weeks for parts to come - is just pure incompetence that no one actually followed up, took the time to truly investigate the status. The repair company and/or the retailer. It is infuriating that we have been left with no recourse due to this mis-management. Where is accountability today for anything? Buyers beware, Basco is happy to sell you appliances but when they fail, you are on your own. read more

If I could give zero stars I would, but it's not an option. I bought an Electrolux Washer and Dryer on February 1st. They have scheduled delivery for me 3-4 times (I can't remember, I've lost count) and I still don't have my washer and dryer. They say it is an Electrolux problem - that they are not getting product. They offered me their showroom model, which I accepted but when they delivered it today, it was stacked (I didn't want stacked) and when they unbolted them to un-stack them, they were scratched and had double sided sticky tape all over the top of the washer. Now waiting for a call back for a solution. This has been THE WORST appliance purchase I have ever made - and I'm 50, so I've made a few. I don't care who's fault it is, you can't run a business this way. read more

We ordered many appliances for a new house. We were scheduled for delivery. I even called ahead to make sure it was scheduled. We were told we were going to be notified on the day of delivery. Never heard anything. I called several times to get an answer. Finally, I was told our delivery was removed from the schedule, but no one could tell us why. Now we are in limbo. When buying a high-end appliances for your home you should be able to expect an excellent product and excellent customer service. My experience with BASCO has been terrible. I purchased a complete set of kitchen appliances and while the showroom experience was fine, the post-sale support was terrible. The Sub-Zero refrigerator was delivered with a defective ice-maker. This was discovered after installation. Calls to the BASCO salesman, Ringo, were either ignored or shunted to customer service people who also failed to return calls. Ultimately three full months later the ice-maker still does not work and BASCO representatives fail to return calls or help in any way to resolve the issue. I strongly suggest using an alternative to BASCO. read more

I purchased a Fisher & Paykel DBL Tall SS Softnr dish drawers dishwasher from Basco on September 2, 2020. I picked it up at the warehouse. The exterior packaging was good. When I got it home and removed the packaging I discovered the top drawer was badly creased at the handle and below. I contacted Basco and sent pictures of the damage. Here it is, October 19th and they haven't replaced the damaged unit. A new one hasn't been ordered. The salesman, Michael, hasn't even called me. This is ridiculous! We bought a high end Thermador gas oven in February that broke in July. The main computer system just randomly broke. It took over 3 weeks to get a repair tech, 1 week to get a response and now it will be 3 weeks for the part to come in. We haven't had an over for over 2 months! Bottom line - good customer service with bumps along the way that I'm going to attribute to having hired new people. Justin, my sales rep was great. Just got a new washer and dryer. LG 4000 front loaders. Knew what I wanted based on Consumer Reports review, they had it, I called, and all done in 15 minutes. Even got the higher end model based on Justins's recommendation with steam and WiFi for the same price as the one without (LG 3400). Great price. I thought he was up selling me for more money for stuff I didn't feel I needed but nope. But nope. Same price. They didn't have the washer in stock until the next week but wasn't an emergency. My old one wasn't quite dead yet but was in the death spiral. Set an appointment time but received no call to confirm the window so I called. Long story short, that's where the mess was realized and continued. No call backs. I had to keep following up. Many times. Mix ups all along the way. Was given the time but the day of, while tracking on their on line tracking system (that doesn't work on my iPhone and had to use a desktop), it showed a time window different from what had been confirmed that had driven me to change my schedule that day. Called again. Told the whole sad story to the receptionist. Got a call back from Justin as soon as he got in to work. The first he had heard about the mess. He has great customer service skills. Empathetic and not smarmy. He refunded the delivery cost. Delivery happened early and the guys who did it were efficient and funny. I immediately hooked those babies up to WiFi (pretty funny. I love fiddling with it. Still not sure of the steam function. Need to continue fiddling with that) and did 3 massive loads of laundry because by this time my washer was very loudly dying. And boy that thing can do huge loads! Tipped the delivery guys the lion's share of the delivery cost refunded. read more

I will never buy another appliance from Basco. Our last purchase was a fridge, a cooktop and an oven. The fridge had many problems right from the beginning. It finally stopped working before the sealed part warranty has expired. Basco was absolutely no help. We tried to get a hold of someone there. We left multiple messages but no one has returned our calls. When the manufacturer agreed to replace the fridge through Basco (unfortunately) that was a whole new struggle to get any information regarding delivery. When they delivered the new fridge the freezer door was damaged. This whole experience is was a complete nightmare. Never again!!!! read more

What a disappointing experience. Things started out well with a knowledgeable and helpful salesperson, but they went downhill from there, and I would discourage anyone from counting on them. We placed our order early because of COVID. We were informed when everything was in that the appliances were ready to deliver. Yet, when we attempted to schedule, they told us everything wasn't in - and we eventually learned they had sold items intended for us to someone else. Some replacements took months, and others couldn't be replaced at all, so we had to order them from elsewhere. Communicating with them was a nightmare as calls and emails went unresponded to time and time again. Eventually, we connected with a different salesperson - Chris - who helped things improve and connected us to customer service to share our experience. Still, customer service started out helpful and eventually became unresponsive as well. To top things off, our dishwasher didn't work and still doesn't, and it's been months. We were told we needed to deal with the manufacturer to fix a new dishwasher that's never been used. Maybe this is industry standard to dump us off on the manufacturer, but I bought the dishwasher from BASCO, so as far as I'm concerned, BASCO sold me a broken dishwasher, and they don't care if it ever works. Never again. Give your money to someone who cares about your business and has a functional customer service department, and that's not BASCO. read more

Won't be back. They sold my builder a 2 year old floor model appliance and charged me full retail for it. The water unit went out and when the service tech ran the serial number, he discovered it was out of warranty (within 2 months of purchase). We then found out it was a floor model demo unit. When we called them on it, they refused to offer any financial reimbursement. They instead found another unused model and replaced it. Major inconvenience and I thought a lame solution. I won't be back. My other dig on them is that I always felt like I was annoying the sales people and the sign in desk when I went in to look at and review appliances. We bought a whole kitchen of appliances from Basco for our new house. Our Fulgar double oven has never worked, it randomly shuts itself off during preheat. I had repair men over to my house on two different dates in July to try and fix the problem. Both times the repair man was in contact with Fulgar and unable to fix the problem. On July 21st I called Basco and spoke to Brad, he told me he would call Fulgar and get back to me. Two weeks go by and I have not heard from Brad so I called him, when he picked up he said "what? they haven't fixed your oven yet?" and then"let me call you right back". That was on Thursday July 30th. Brad did not call me back, I began calling him and leaving messages daily and my calls were never returned. This morning I caught him "walking in the door" when I spoke to him he told me that "they" were coming tomorrow and put me on hold for 20 minutes. No explanations just automatic 20 minute hold. When he came back on the phone he told me that the same repair shop who had already been to my house 2 times was coming again tomorrow. I asked him why he failed to let me know that a repair appointment had been made, and asked him why he didn't return my calls. This upset him and he began yelling at me, and disputing wether or not I had actually called. At this point, I'm disgusted with the customer service I've received with Basco. I told him that I wanted to return or exchange my faulty oven and that I would like to deal with someone other than him. I asked him to have a manager call me. I have little faith that will happen so here I am on Yelp. In the meantime I feel like I have a new part time job of calling, leaving messages and waiting on hold, to fix my oven. read more

To Any Potential Buyer: I would highly recommend that you NOT purchase anything from "BASCO Outlet Appliances". Here is a short list as to why. 1. Their "Customer Service", which is the Most important, is horrible, one of the poorest experiences I have ever had, hands down! 2. We are reasonably certain if we wet saw an inch off the accidental counter overhang in our kitchen, we can squeeze in a 36-incher. We have discussed exactly how we would do this... Basco is room after room of high-end appliances nirvana - Viking, Wolf, Liebherr, La Cornue, Bosch, Miele. You get the idea. Wander around and let your imagination run wild. Leave your check book at home, at least the first time you visit. If you come back a second time, make sure you are firmly planted in the philosophy of "you only live once." And then go wild. I'm the proud owner of a high-tech metallic red LG washer/dryer pair -- simply because the Basco Outlet's bargain price bested the big-box stores by $300 per item. I've laundered just fine with the standard white GEs and Kenmores provided by rentals over the years, but opted to upgrade when I bought a place of my own. And oh, how the technology has changed! This LG set is capable of phone phreaking -- if there's a problem, you dial LG, push some buttons on the machine, and hold your phone to its control panel while it beeps and whirrs its diagnostic melody to tech support. But I digress. Basco's a high-end retailer, but there's a budget option: Basco Outlet, in NW Industrial. Current inventory and pricing is listed on Basco's website. After I found the items I wanted online, I went to the outlet and placed my order. The outlet items are all in like-new condition with the same warranties (mine had been on display at the Basco showroom). Delivery was cheap and they hauled away my old set. N.B. I haven't visited the retail location in the Pearl and can't confirm the snootiness other reviews have noted. read more

Customer service on the front end was superb, yet it was discounted by the poor customer service post-purchase. I used Basco because I needed a European style washer and dryer to fit in my small laundry closet. Huck at the Outlet was very helpful and punctual in responding to multiple calls and emails from me about product specs. Store hours are not convenient, but I managed to make it to the store on Saturday to make my purchase. I was told it had to be ordered and would arrive in about 10 days. Here begin the problems. No one mentioned there would be a full week delay from arrival at their warehouse to delivery to my residence (for which the customer has to pay - it is not free delivery even with expensive appliances). So the washer and dryer that I was waiting on to do laundry (mine stopped working) sat in a warehouse 3 miles from my house for one week before it was delivered. Then I was informed of a delivery window of 2 hours during the middle of the day, took time off work, waited two hours, no delivery and no phone call. Since they will not install in "tight spaces" I have to pay a contractor to install on top of delivery cost, luckily I was forewarned about this. So. Not. Happy. read more

We had to get a very particular slide-in range with a downdraft vent for our kitchen, and BASCO sold them (Jenn-Air) so we stopped by the show room to have a look. My husband called in advance asking if they had one to see in the show room, and they said they did. So we made the trip down to Portland to see it in person. When we got there, they did not have one in the show room though :( Ultimately, we were helped by a floor salesman, and we ended up picking all of our appliances there, instead of at Lowe's. They price matched a few items that we intended to order on sale form Lowe's, and we got a great deal on a dishwasher. Getting to this location was really frustrating using GPS on my phone. Basco has an excellent range of high-end appliances. We bought our stove and refrigerator, and we were treated with great courtesy, though I am sure our order was smaller than those of most customers. I'd especially like to call out Jenna, who was fantastic on followup around the delivery schedule and my specific instructions about which phone numbers to call, and leaving messages. Also, the delivery firm Basco uses is wonderful. The men who delivered our appliances, Adam and Juan, were quick and careful, placing the appliances in the kitchen for us. Adam was particularly helpful about getting the refrigerator properly leveled on a very uneven floor. We also got a reasonable deal on our appliances, which makes the whole thing even nicer. read more

Once our $6,500 grill finally arrived we went in to pick it up at the main location. The secretary working the front desk was condescending and snide about how "will call" pickups are actually at their offsite warehouse 20 minutes down the road. (Which she claimed was less than 5 minutes away). After getting to the poorly labeled offsite warehouse and waiting for 30+ minutes for them to bring our grill out to load they brought it out on a pallet, set it down in front of our vehicle and stared at us waiting for us to load the incredibly heavy grill that was secured to the pallet with banding and shipping screws. After asking for assistance getting it in or to borrow scissors or a screwdriver to remove it from the pallet the forklift driver reluctantly brought out two screwdrivers and stood there offering zero assistance in removing the grill from the pallet to load. After asking for some assistance from the front office the warehouse manager came out and proceeded to get in our face and scream profanities and about how if we didn't have better attitudes he would "keep the f***ing grill and kick us the f*** out of there". After spending over $50,000 with this store on appliances in the last 20 years this will be the last purchase we ever make here due to the fact that every single employee we interacted with today was incredibly disrespectful and aggressive/angry. read more

The morning I left for vacation my washer quit working. This is the last thing I wanted to deal with on vacation, but I also didn't want to return home and not have a washer. When I got to my destination I contacted BASCO and spoke to Huck. He was reading my mind when he said I should consider the Speed Queen line. I knew that when I replaced the washer I wanted to look at that brand, but I didn't know who carried the retail line in Portland. Luckily for me, it was BASCO. The entire transaction was completed over the phone and via email. The day after I returned I had a new washer in my basement. The entire transaction including the delivery & set-up couldn't have gone smoother. We're a repeat customer of BASCO and will always contact them when we need a new appliance, TV or BBQ. Their showrooms are a great way to get ideas and visualize the look, their product line-up is extensive and service is always first class. I own a kitchen/bathroom remodeling business. I reccomend avoiding this company due to the customer service alone, that appears to be trickling from the management down. Bought a high end 3k hood 3 months ago. We still don't have it or any idea of an eta. We have called our sales representative, Vernon more than 5 times, leaving a voicemail and he will not return our calls. I have then tried calling the front desk to check 3 times and each time they have told me they will call back and we never get a response. Today I called and spoke with a female 6/29 at the lake Oswego who was extremely rude and unprofessional. I explained that I totally understand there are supply issues everywhere right now but I am only looking for communication and updates or to decide if we need to cancel our order all together. She was extremely rude, talked over me despite me being understanding that she does not have any control over shipments. I asked for her name and she would not give it to me. I have paid for this hood and at this point don't know if I can expect in in another month or ever due to the lack of communication. As a business owner of 2 companies, I would never allow my employees to communicate in this manner. As a business owner I also understand that shipping and stock is so unpredictable right now but communication is key. You cant leave a customer in the dark for almost 3 months after you have taken payment. Update- the manager called me, said he can't do anything thing about how the employees act as he is never in lakeoswego. ARGUED with me when I asked for a refund. Was very upset that I left a review. Moved into a new house last winter and had been slowly looking for a Weber bbq. I went to the usual big box stores, and found the assistance below average and lacking real detailed information. One store even told me that if I bought a Weber the regional rep from Weber would come to my house and install it for me, uh that won't happen. I called Basco and spoke to Huck briefly and told him what I was seeking. Within 5 minutes, Huck had sent me an email with all available options, pricing, links to each model and much more. I purchased 2 range downdraft vents from Dusty Moore of BASCO. At the time I was shopping Dusty Moore stated unequivocally that the cost of installing them would be a flat $250 each. This was not an estimate. My decision to make the purchase was based upon that representation. After the installation was done the installer presented me with a bill for $725. Dusty Moore and the installer argued on the phone for some time before Dusty Moore told me to pay the agreed $500 and that Dusty Moore would resolve the difference directly with the installer. He did not and the installer continued to bill me. I am proceeding with a small claims suit against BASCO for this misrepresentation as they refuse to resolve this, despite what Dusty Moore told me.
