AbsoluYe Olde Forge was a great find. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable, and while it may…read morelook like a roadside stop, it is absolutely worth the detour. The onion bites were a fantastic alternative to onion rings and dangerously easy to keep eating. The beer list reads like a who's who of great choices, and the wings were excellent, possibly the best I've had in recent memory. The buffalo sauce was especially well done, with just enough heat to know it is there, but still approachable even for someone who does not usually go for spice. The real highlight, though, was Joyce. She absolutely personified great customer service. Friendly, attentive, thoughtful, and on top of everything without ever overdoing it. Honestly, the level of care she gave rivaled service at a five-star resort. I wish Joyce could follow me around to every meal I have. She was that good. Great food, great atmosphere, and truly standout service. We will definitely be back.

We are ordered the double dip, Buffalo chicken and spinach artichoke. It took over twenty minutes for the dips, even tho the place was half empty. We had a feeling the entrees would arrive shortly and we were right. Halfway thru the dips the entrees arrived. Chicken piccata was bland, and the pasta was overcooked. The sauce was watery and there was only a slight taste of lemon. Not at all what it should have been. Haddock was obviously fresh, but again, bland. Served in a bath of butter, but no herbs, no discernible seasoning. Services was attentive, beers were cold, if somewhat overpriced. Don't know that I'll be back.

Off the beaten path…read morein the tiny town on Cheshire, the parking lot was full, the bar was hopping, and the diners clearly enjoying themselves. How great! We loved it too. The main feature is locally sourced fresh ingredients prepared in an unusual way. I loved the crispy soy/maple salmon on a bed of hash consisting of brussel sprouts, potatoes and celery root puree. My wife Statler chicken was crisp and juicy. But you can also get incredible looking sandwiches. My eyes locked onto the cod reuben. How unusual, yet easy to understand. Entrees stay in the mid 30s, so don't expect a cheap night if you add an appetizer, wine and dessert. (Btw, ask to tour the wine closet). However, farm fresh food is worth it to me. The room is good looking and comfortable. It is a little noisy with all the happy people, but not too bad at all. I will be back. And I will bring my picky friends visiting from New York.

We enjoyed for dinner: To Start- Warm baguette with herbed oil, along with Naan Tacos (yummy) For Entrées: Caribbean Style Statler chicken (could've used a hint of scotch bonnet & ginger, but it was good), and the Common Burger (delicious) with matchstick fries. We were too full to try dessert. No worries, there will definitely be a next time. Enjoy! **Oh, I hear they are expanding due to the high demand. Reservations are necessary** Thank you

Best part of this place was probably the beautiful views! Worst service ever and food was just…read moresub-par. The best part of it was the drinks and the appetizer. We ordered fairly on time. No water, no bread. Had to ask for water. Our appetizers came quickly. The caprese salad was delicious. Then about a half an hour later our waitress comes out advising they were out of the venison. My husband had ordered it. She left to get the menu (when she should have had it with her) came back, my husband ordered the haddock. She said ok, left and came back about five minutes later advising that they were out of that too. At this point my husband had to look at the menu. Our waitress apologized for the inconvenience and explained how more than several dishes were not available and that they had to close the restaurant an hour earlier due to this. My husband settled on the salmon. By the time we got our food, it was cold. I ordered scallops. And I should have taken a picture - it was pathetic. It looked like an appetizer it was so small. The asparagus was cold, and the scallops had no flavor. I ate a few bites but it was so disappointing. The salmon was also just ok. Nothing special. Our waitress assured we would get dessert fast if we wanted it but we didn't wanna bother considering everything. She apologized again, saying she would talk to the manager and that he would come over to talk to us. He never did come over. They took off my scallops from the bill at least. But this was by far the worst experience ever. A few small suggestions and the experience may have been better - provide water at the beginning, we shouldn't have had to wait 1/2 an hour to get some, bring us the bread, we shouldn't have to ask for it and during the wait it should have been offered as a courtesy for the absurd long wait and frustration for not having the meal my husband wanted, and if you say a manager would come over, they should come over. The meal started out ok but it just got worse and worse. My husband and I paid our bill quickly and left. He had to get me food elsewhere as I was still very hungry.
