    Beef pho

Wanted a quick meal around the area I was staying at and stopped by this place. The food was okay, but the service was lacking as one of the servers was very busy on her cell phone. There's at least one table that is right below an air vent that air would just keep blowing over your head. Get the beef pho and grilled beef summer rolls.

We went at 5 pm on a Saturday evening and there was plenty of seating available. The waitress was really nice and brought us a free condiment. I got the beef pho with veggies and everything was fresh, broth was really tasty. It had plenty of noodles and broccoli, carrot, baby corn, bok choy. It was very big I couldn't finish it! My husband like spicy food and he used the chili oil they brought with the pho. He also loved his pho and finished it all. Prices are normal for this area, the check was 51$ for two pho with extra tripe and veggies. Service was fast, will come back when I crave for a pho again

If you are looking for pho in Boca Raton, this place hits the spot! Their broth and selection is great! Great family owned restaurant and amazing service!

Atmosphere is art deco with 1950s style decoration. The flavors are fairly bland unfortunately and the food value just isn't there. I don't know if I'll come back. PS. Mens toilet needs a $5 part to stop continuously flushing but they have neglected it and put a sign on the top of the toilet to jiggle the handle lol.

I was happy to find some Vietnamese around here. The service was good. They close very early though, which is not great and quite limiting. The food was pretty good. Not the best Vietnamese I've ever had, not by any means, but, its edible if you're craving Vietnamese.

I've been to a basilic before and I usually know what to expect. The spring rolls were good and the pho was good as well. I also ordered a taro boba which tasted watered down. The reason why i'm giving this four stars is because the service was terrible. We visited this restaurant about an hour before closing time and we were sitting at a table. No one came up to us for about 30 minutes so we had to order right at the bar area. The food came out fairly quickly but we were never approached buy another individual. I ordered one more thing and quickly ordered the check because I would have to hunt down the waiter. The food was good service was terrible.

We were in the mood for some Vietnamese food, so we headed over to Basilic on Federal. The reviews looked pretty good on Yelp and online, so we were excited. We found street parking next door which costs us $4. I can imagine parking may be an issue on the weekends but on a Monday it was fine. The building looks very dated outside, but inside it's modern, fresh and comfortable. There were about 2 tables full in the entire place, very light crowd. Despite this, the 2 staff members there were working on Uber Eats orders and ignored us. No instructions as to whether we should just sit or wait to be seated. We had to jump in and ask after a few minutes and when we did, they did tell us to take any seat we wanted. The menu is full of soups, sandwiches and a variety of entrees but overall I felt that it was a rather concise menu with limited choices. I ultimately decided to go with the chicken pho and my wife got the wok tossed noodles with tofu along with a honeydew bubble tea. My pho was OK. The soup was hot and fresh and had all of the requisite ingredients, but the broth was very plain and lacked nuanced flavor. While I thought it was a filling lunch, it didn't make much of an impression. My wife didn't enjoy her stir fry. It looked nice, but as was the case with my dish, she said the flavor was very weak and that it almost seemed like it was an Olive Garden version of Vietnamese food. The accompanying Vietnamese condiments helped, but it was still pretty lame she said. She did enjoy the bubble tea however and thought it was tasty. I have to mention Basilic's pricing which aside from the pho seemed to be on the high end for what you get. $17.50 for a noodle stir fry? That's excessive. $6.50 for a bubble tea is also quite high. $12.95 for my big pho seemed fair though. It was a really big bowl, so that's nice value. I was going to get a Vietnamese coffee when we were done, but $6 for a coffee is outrageous in my opinion. I don't care how much of a specialty it is. Finally, the service was spotty. As I mentioned previously, nobody greeted or directed us upon arrival. And while our food arrived in a reasonable amount of time, the staff went MIA and could not be found when we wanted more napkins (which I had to pilfer from the neighboring table), condiments and a check. That was a little bit annoying. Overall, I give this place 3 stars. It was OK, but the food was too tame, Westernized and expensive for my taste. I would not go back nor recommend it. Summary: Food - 3 out of 5. Fresh, but very tame flavors. Amibance - 4 out of 5. Pleasant decor, very comfortable, good noise level. Service - 2 out of 5 stars. Pleasant, but spotty. Value - 2 out of 5 stars. Aside from the pho, very expensive for what you get. Overall - 2.75 stars rounded up to 3.

    Korean BBQ Pho

Strictly came here for the Pho! Okay so my boyfriend and I are on a personal hunt for the best Pho in South Florida, and this was next on our list to try. We came a Saturday night, pretty decent sized crowd, but we were sat pretty quickly by the coolest fish tank! Love that. I'm super into ambiance and cool lighting, and things to look at! I'm a sucker for it lol. So to start off we both had a glass of wine (Pinot Grigio for me, Chardonnay for him) and had an order of the spring rolls (not pictured). They tasted on par, nothing spectacular. However, the main attraction, the PHO! I opted to get ox tail, and I'm sure glad I did! It was so tender and juicy! Full of flavor! The broth is what MAKES the Pho. Super flavorful and savory! We both agreed that this spot had the best broth we have tasted! He got the Korean BBQ and he really enjoyed it! Just said it was a bit difficult to eat, but I mean, come on, look at it lol. My only gripes are: I understand that you are either a sauce person, or you could do without any condiments and sauce ever (INSANE IMO).....I'm however a saucy person! They didn't have sauce on the table! No fish oil, no hoisin, no sriracha, chili oil/paste. Nothing. It was a mission to get someone's attention here for service. So my boyfriend ended up going to the bar to ask for sauces. Would of been nice just to have it on the table like other places. Not a big deal, but hey, that's just me. Second gripe. Like I said, it was hard getting someone's attention, and I do understand it can be busy. However we were enjoying our night conversing, and looked around and there was no one left in the restaurant besides us and one other party. No one came over. Took a solid 15 minutes to get someone over to ask for the bill, then you guessed it; another 15 minutes passed. We were both like, "Do you think they forgot about us? lol" Lastly, the price of PHO was a bit steep. I totally understand what we ordered, and the location you are in, but the prices were a bit steep considering the overall lack of service. So for those reasons it got 4 stars from me. But a must try! Give it a shot!

I'm holding the "oxtail" meat which is either just a ball of fat or a bit of meat covered in fat.

We tried something new, the oxtail pho. They should remove it from the menu. It was mostly fat, I thought I had a mushroom and it was actually just a piece of fat. How can you throw all that fat in someone's meal? It was so tedious to pick all the fat off. I got fed up and dumped it.

But of course I still did but it didn't take much for me to enjoy. What I can say is the oxtail let me down a little bit. It only came with two small ones, but better than nothing! Most combination pho don't have oxtail as a meat. They also give you a ton of water (if you eat by yourself) . The sriracha they have is not bad as well. Unfortunately, they never brought things back to the way they were. I just couldn't justify paying more for less. Fast forward to now. My girlfriend had never tried pho before, and it took me three or four months to convince her to give it a shot. She finally trusted my judgment, which is always nice since we tend to enjoy the same foods. It definitely makes life a little easier. I ordered for both of us. She took one bite of the brisket, then a spoonful of the broth, and her eyes got huge. Mine probably did too. I later found out the restaurant is under new ownership, and whatever they changed... they nailed it. This pho is actually better than the original owners ever made. Years ago, my favorite pho came from a restaurant in Sunrise that has since closed. This bowl tied it. It tasted remarkably similar, and it makes me wonder if they somehow ended up with the same recipe. Whether they did or not doesn't really matter--the end result was outstanding. Once we added a little spice, it went from excellent to incredible. My girlfriend loved it, and now she's already willing to try more places I've been recommending. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was comfortable, and the food was phenomenal. For me, this wasn't just a home run. It was a home run, a touchdown, a Super Bowl victory, and a World Series championship all rolled into one. I'll definitely be back.

Fair warning: you won't find it on the menu, but it exists, and I highly recommend asking for it. I visited on a Tuesday just after opening to a wonderfully warm welcome. Being the only customer at the time, the service was attentive and personal from start to finish. I started with a Thai iced tea and the Thai papaya salad before getting to what I was really there for: the off-menu pork bánh mì. (They also offer beef and chicken, but pork is the classic for a reason.) The papaya salad was a great way to start -- generous in portion, easily shareable, and served in a crisp lettuce cup. Bright, tangy, and perfectly limey with that familiar hit of fish sauce and a satisfying crunch in every bite. The Thai iced tea was equally refreshing and just the right amount of sweet. But the star of the show? That pork bánh mì. The bread hit that magical sweet spot -- crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The pork was tender and deeply flavorful, and the toppings (pickled carrot, cucumber, onion, and fresh cilantro) delivered the perfect balance of brightness and crunch. Mayo on the inside added a nice richness, and a side spoon of spicy mayo tied everything together beautifully. Wanda and Nana were my servers and they were outstanding. When I mentioned I'd be back for the phở, they brought me a small bowl of broth to taste on the spot -- rich, aromatic, and full of depth. Now I'm even more eager to come back for a full bowl with all the fixings. The owner (I didn't catch his name, but is a fellow Minions fan :)) was equally warm, sending me off with a little grab bag of fortune cookies on the way out. I will absolutely be back -- for more bánh mì and that phở. Do yourself a favor and check this place out!
