Very bad service, missing some sensibility training. Got ask for a Miami-Dade issued ID for my service dog, this doesn't exist, and according to the law they cannot ask for any proof, they can only ask me questions about the tasks the dog performs. After pointing this out, the waiter said he would ask the owner, the owner was extremely rude and proceeded to inform me that without a Miami-Dade ID for the service dog you have to leave, it's impossible to serve you. So, yes, get some training for you and your employees before you get fined. read more

This was our 2nd visit and I can't believe I haven't reviewed this gem. The first visit was 5 stars, this visit was 6. We enjoyed Calamari, Caprese, Bolognese, and the Filet with Risotto special. Rarely do I dine where I can say every item was 5 starts but this hit the mark. And the staff earns the extra bonus stars. Never did an empty plate sit more than seconds. Every glass on the table stayed full. We requested Alex again this visit and he was just wonderful. We'll be back in a few weeks to visit my daughter and will go again. Basilico is excellent.... I have been here a few times but never reviewed it. I have read some reviews of people complaining about the service and all I can say is that it couldn't be far from the truth. This little trattoria style restaurant is well managed and runs smoothly. Also has a great menu and daily specials. Came here to bring my brother and wife for Mothers day and it was very good. Eventhough it was packed service was on point and food was delicious. We ordered grill octopus, ceasar salad, tuna tartare, linguine frutti di mare, halibut and a veal scaloppine which was succulent. Prices here are very reasonable .... this an unpretentious restaurant that offers quality Italian food. Put this place on your bookmarks and as soon as you get a chance get here. I thoroughly enjoyed my boyfriend and I's experience at Basilico. We had the calamari, the gnocchi, the flank steak with mashed potatoes, and the apple strudel with vanilla ice cream. I was extremely impressed by the gnocchi. Coming from an Italian household, these are incredibly hard to make well and these are the best I've eaten outside my grandma's house. The calamari and steak were good, nothing too crazy. The service was fast besides dessert, which took longer, but it was excusable since the apple strudel was baked fresh. The plating for some dishes left a little more to be desired. There was, unfortunately, a family nearby us that had a high volume on their phones and shone a flashlight at us on a phone call. Overall though, we highly enjoyed our experience! read more

Basilico is a fusion of Italian and Argentinian cuisines in Doral. The location is pretty hidden, so make sure to keep a good look out when you're going. The restaurant is located in a shopping center and parking is a bit limited. The decor of the restaurant was classic. There was wood flooring and white tablecloths covering the tables. I did really enjoy their wine cellar towards the back of the restaurant. However, the place does need some maintenance as the roof is caving in towards the corner of the restaurant. The food was okay. I had the portobello mushroom with mozzarella and prosciutto. The item description did not mention arugula but 1/2 of my plate was a mountain of arugula. Unfortunately, I only got two small pieces of prosciutto which I was bummed about. Also, the balsamic sauce was gummy. The mushroom tasted soggy and did not have that crisp grilled texture. The server I had was also not the most polite. He would cut people in my table off before they finished speaking. I hope that the restaurant can improve because it does have great potential. read more

My go to restaurant in Doral, I owned a restaurant called Basilic for many years, perhaps the name plays in my love for that establishment. Service is on point most of the time, Julian is extremely attentive! I love all of their dishes and the baguette is to die for. I am a big fan of both, the salmon & the beef carpaccio. Best calamari in town. Well executed seafood risotto, perfect NY strip, solid pastas but not a big fan of their raviolis... very welcoming ambiance. The owners are not friendly/welcoming, the staff makes up for their indifference. Great coffee. Pls change the artificial plant in the ladies room. read more

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place because I've been here at least 5 times and all those times the food and service were great. This place is located on a shipping center in Doral, on 41st street in the same block where Nahum is located. I've been there for lunch and have ordered the spinach linguini with seafood in a creamy sauce. It sounds ok but taste AWESOME. In fact, I Like it some much that I order it every time, I should try something else but why would I do that if I like this dish so much? Walked in fully expecting to order homemade Linguini. Then I heard their specials. 1 stood out "pluma de bellota iberica". This pork steak like cut was so juicy and flavorful. The Risotto on the side was plain but good. Another diner at my table got the vegetable medley that was better. When I go again I will ask for both the Risotto and the veggies. I had a reservation but for a Tuesday night I did not need it. The waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant was clean and the ambiance was good. read more

We came to this restaurant for a group lunch. The restaurant was packed but was able to accommodate us immediately. They start off with a complimentary bread and butter. Unfortunately the bread was brought out cold, seems like it had been sitting out for awhile. I then had the ravioli with spinach and ricotta. The ricotta in the ravioli was still kind of hard. My friend asked for a medium steak and the steak was brought out medium rare. The waiter did not check in with us, probably because they were really packed, but we all really wanted to get our water refilled. read more

Do NOT order food from this restaurant! Biggest buyer remorse of my life! It is one thing to completely ruin the take out order, but the way that the management resolved the issue, is beyond unacceptable! We ordered delivery, and it arrived incomplete. When we called Basilico and spoke to a manager, he was uncooperative. We just wanted to have our order delivered complete, but his solution was to simply remove the item from our bill. This is NOT what we wanted! We wanted our food delivered completely as ordered. Can you imagine feeding your family, except one of your children, whose food did not arrive with the order? I can accept a mistake, but the way that this manager made excuses for his mistake and did NOT do anything to correct it, leaves me to find another Italian restaurant in the Miami area. read more

This is my favorite pasta place in the Doral area. The quality of the food is great and service is always friendly and fast. One of the owners of this restaurant is Argentinian, so you get the Italian/Argentinian influence in their dishes, which gives great results. Also, they have a nice wine selection, including several very good Argentinian Malbecs. My favorite dish is their Piccata, either veal or fish. The last time I tried it with Trout and it was excellent. They serve it with delicious spaghetti in an olive oil and garlic sauce. If you are in the area, you should this place. Cheers! read more

Came with a large group and the service was top notch. Usually, large parties mean mess ups, and slow service, but on the contrary! I would say it was perhaps about 20 of us, and every single plate was served perfectly and came at the same time- very hard to do! I wasn't too hungry, I wish I would've tried more dishes, but the few that I had, they did not disappoint. The ravioli was delicious, and I am not a huge ravioli lover. The appetizers, specifically the burrata was perfect. The drinks were served cold and 2 minutes after we ordered them, how? I have no idea, not complaining. Our server was extremely nice, funny and knew the menu inside out. He had to repeat it several times, and did not seem bothered. I regret not coming here sooner, but I think I've found my go-to Italian spot in my neighborhood. I would recommend this restaurant, it is very family oriented, and the environment was nice. Stopped in looking for some Italian food. The restaurant is across from the Pizza Hut. It is not huge but it was packed. I felt like it would have been better to make a reservation but there were two tables available. To start off they bring bread and butter. The bread just seemed like regular bread warmed up. Several of the pieces were already hard. We ordered the pear ravioli and the crab ravioli. To start off the pear ravioli is sweet because of the figs. I really liked the taste but it maybe too sweet for some. The sauce was amazing. The crab ravioli was fresh as well. The sauce delicious. The finishing touch was fresh cheese on top. You can never have too much cheese. For desert the créeme brûlée was ok. I prefer the créeme brûlée recently made so the top is warm and the custard is cold but it was all cold. All in all for about $50 you can eat well at this restaurant. They have TVs inside so you can watch the games going on as well. It was pretty noisy inside as well but overall not a bad place. I called to ask if they accepted reservations and that I wanted to make a reservation for party of 11 for the same day, The man that answered the phone was very unpleasant, and unprofessional. He asked, at what time?? Trying to be flexible I said 7 or 8 , do you have availability? In which he rudely responded "I cannot make any reservation for you, when you decide which hour you want call me back. In which I responded don't worry I will not call back with such a terrible attitude. I called Coppolas in kendall, they were professional, helpful and made the reservation. read more

We were so happy that we came here. A little family run restaurant in a strip mall. The interior is pleasant, friendly and bustling. There seem to be many regulars, and the waiters are knowledgeable and playful. The food is just delightful, and arranged in a typical Italian manner of Antipasto, first plates, second plates, and desserts. This restaurant is definitely on our list of places to re-visit whenever in the area. The sizzling sautéed shrimp appetizer should not be missed. I just flew in from out of town with family and was looking for a place to eat, and they recommended this spot. From when I entered the staff was very attentive and very kind. Various waiters would come to attend us from time to time. They have the best freshly squeezed lemonade, and I ended up ordering the "spaghetenni Alla Vongole". It was to die for, I loved every bite of it. As for the prices they are pretty affordable in comparison to other delicious Italian spots.
