I have to confess... I've probably been guilty of gatekeeping this gem for years. I've been coming to Basilico for a long time, and yet never got around to writing the review it deserves. This week I realized it was time to share it with my Yelp family. From the moment you walk in, you're treated like family. Even if I haven't been there in months, I'm welcomed back as if I was there last week. That kind of genuine hospitality is rare. Over the years I've worked my way through just about everything on the menu. Most of the time I don't even order anymore--I simply ask, "What am I eating today?" They know what I like, and I trust them completely. Whether it's a pasta special, a wine recommendation, or something I've never tried before, they've never steered me wrong. Speaking of wine, their list is excellent. I'm perfectly happy letting them choose a bottle or glass for me, and I've discovered several favorites that way. On this visit I finally ordered the Flank Steak (Vacio de los Andes a la Parrilla), and all I can say is... wow. It was cooked perfectly, incredibly tender, and full of flavor. Honestly, it rivaled steaks I've had at restaurants that specialize in nothing but steak. One tip: if you're coming for lunch, arrive a little early. This cozy spot fills up quickly, and once you've eaten here you'll understand why. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Basilico isn't flashy. The gnocchi was the standout dish--soft, homemade, and served in a rich, flavorful sauce that made every bite comforting and satisfying. You can tell it's made with care and tradition. This location is very close to the airport. Although the outside is small and it looks like it is in a strip mall by the side of a highway, the inside is an elegant dining experience. all the servers are extremely well versed and courteous. The food was absolutely delicious and we were surprised by the amount of food. The clams are so fresh!!! The star of the night was the beef carpaccio appetizer. Consistently a gem. How do they remember us when we are there in frequently?! It feels like the best of an old-school Italian bistro, where they remember you, and treat you like a special guest. They seem to do this with everyone. We discover this place because of our business partner who's been coming here for probably as many years as it's been open. I love their spinach salad and skip the cheese. It's really not needed. The pasta dishes are wonderful and they offer some things that can be done for the vegan as well. The meat eaters in our family really loved their food. Fresh, delicious, and fabulous service as always. It's a little gym in a strip mall by the airport. Having dinner before a show. Quaint Italian restaurant in the Springs loved by the locals. Food is excellent, Started with the Caesar salad with homemade dressing and croutons. For my main dish I chose the Bolognese, couldn't finish it due to size of dish. Wait staff on point and attentive. Owner came out and spoke to us, very kind. Ambient music is at perfect volume, we were all able to have conversations and hear each other. Girls had deserts made in house. Restaurant has a small 6 seat bar with a single TV. Food: we started with beef carpaccio - amazing, even my husband who doesn't like carpaccio loved it. Tender and very flavorful without any game. We tried lobster ravioli and it was so fresh and had chunks of stuffed lobster with amazing cream sauce. Then the show stopper was the OSSO BUCO with champagne risotto. Wow. Almost assaulted by the staff member for withstanding his attempt to extort an exhorbitant tip for poor service. I received a bill for $55 for a steak dinner and a crème brûlée desert. A mandatory 18% gratuity was included. The service was poor so I said take off the gratuity. I will choose my own. The waiter demanded it stay on. I stood my ground. I said either you remove it or you will lose business. He still refused. My colleagues spoke with him in Spanish. He was eventually said "I don't need your tip!" and literally snatched the Amex out of my hand and jammed it in his machine and thumped it back into my hand WITHOUT showing me the amount he deducted out my card. I will never go there again and you can be sure that I will tell everyone what sort of an asshole this guy was and what a crap-house restaurant it is. Never again. read more

Not cheap but for the food's outstanding quality, it's worth every penny. Ordered - *Daily Special - Grilled pork chop with fettuccine Alfredo. Pork was tender, deliciously flavored & grilled to perfection. Pasta was tender & succulent. Beyond yumminess..! *Fettuccini Alfredo with pancetta - amazing from its first to last bite. Basilico is located on a nonchalant shopping strip. Looking at it from the outside you would imagine how cozy the place is and the how good is the food. Classic Italian food with a touch of Latin flavors. The appetizers are so good that many times I prefer to have a glass of wine and a few appetizers. The daily specials are worth trying. I've been in Miami for 10 years... maybe 8 years ago, I came here for a lunch break... picked up, the food was great but never went back. The other day I was with a friend of mine in Doral, craving some Italian and found it again in Yelp. It was about 9:30 on a Friday and this place was completely empty. My friend joked that this was a gangster spot. The food was magnificent. Fresh and made to order, with incredible flavors and variety. The only thing they are missing is a soup! As a traveler, it always makes me have more confidence in a restaurant if the locals eat there. We arrived at the scheduled opening time, and all five of the groups ahead of us were greeted like family. I selected spaghetti bolognese. The presentation was great, and the taste was excellent! My wife had spaghetti with crispy asparagus and shrimp, and they accommodated her preference by not including mushrooms. We just flew in to Miami the night before we started our cruise. My husband, kids and I were starving. We wrong on Yelp and searched nearby restaurants from our hotel and found Basilico Ristorante. It's a small place but very inviting. Our waiter was very nice and accommodating. More on that. We ordered this antipasto with burrata and prosciutto. The prosciutto was a melt in your mouth! My husband and I ordered wine. Red for him and white for me. When dinner came the waiter accidentally tipped over the red wine and it went all over me. Ha ha ! The waiter felt so bad that he kept filling up my glass the second it got low. The dinners were fabulous. I had red snapper, my daughter had shrimp my husband had veal and my son had spaghetti with bolognese. Omg , all the dishes were amazing. We finished it off with a tiramisu that' was truly decadent.
