Wanted a treat so dropped by our local Baskin Robbin's. Was greeted immediately with a smile by an older gentleman, whom I believe may be the owner. Dropped by and my boyfriend, toddler, and I made our selections, including two pints of ice cream to take home. Currently pregnant, so I had a hard time debating whether I wanted a waffle cone or bowl, one scoop or two. Finally made my choice and was actually very sad I didn't get two scoops ha. We left and as we were getting into our car, parked right in front of the entrance, the older gentleman came after us apologizing. He had accidentally charged us for two scoops instead of one and wanted to refund us. I saw this as a good mistake for me because he packed us up another scoop of ice cream of my choosing and we went on our merry way. 2023 Update I am not happy with Baskin Robbins today. My order specifically said 2x Double Scoops which is supposed to include 2 cups of double scoop ice cream and instead I only got one big cup. Whomever packaged the order obviously did not understand the order instructions. This was an afternoon treat for my husband and I after lunch and was very much let down by the way the order was prepared. I'm not going to hate them for what went on but its a shame that today's order turned out like it did. I may just have to go in person to their establishment. It was $26 for the two items. Had reported it to Door Dash and they credited me half the order for the missing items. Hopefully the crew who packaged it at the time of this review can look back on the order and ask their management on how the orders are packed. A big let down. It's actually been a long time since I've been to BR but I made a quick stop to get a single scoop of Jamoca. I remember getting fruit flavors in the past but I wanted to try out the coffee. It tastes similar to Haagen Dazs' coffee ice cream but felt less sweet, which I appreciated since there's probably so much sugar. It was a refreshing bite in this hot weather so I rather enjoyed it! In our home, you get to choose whatever you want for dinner on your birthday. Is it surprising that ice cream is a popular choice among the elementary school set? Maybe not. It may be surprising that this year our 8 year old chose Baskin-Robbins for dinner and Taco Bell for dessert. Conveniently, both are located here at this Jackson location. Of the local Baskin-Robbins, this is by far the most spacious and open. The others feel very cramped. Nice to sit down and enjoy your ice cream in relative comfort. BR is not my favorite ice cream. It's okay. I usually order a child size soft serve cone because none of the regular ice creams make me drool enough to justify the points. (WeightWatchers out there know what I'm talking about.) The staff is efficient but unenthusiastic. Not that I blame them. I would hate to scoop ice cream out all day. When you ask for water, because ice cream makes one thirsty, you get a tiny dixie cup with tepid water. This seems to be universal at Baskin-Robbins. Is it really that hard to offer larger than a two sip cup and some cold water? I've always loved Baskin Robbins as a kid, mostly for their 31 different flavors! Hence, 4 stars because I'm a fan of their selection. They're always switching in new flavors, and they give them interesting names. Their ice cream cakes are great for birthdays; however, you'll have to keep the servings small because the cakes can be TINY. Sure, you can buy larger sizes of cake, but the prices can soar! It doesn't really seem to be worth so much either. They taste great and all, but the price could be lower. Every time I come to this location, it's not busy at all. This review is totally based on the experience my bf and I had today with the help of Miles and Natalie the trainee! My bf called 30 mins prior to coming in inquiring about an ice cream cake we wanted. Miles answered the phone, professionally, and told us there was one available and that he would be able to hold it in the back for us. We came in, they greeted and Miles went to the back to get us the cake while Natalie was so very helpful by serving us our ice cream. I wanted cotton candy in a sugar cone and she told me that she was going to put it in a cup with the cone ONTOP bc the ice cream is on the softer side. This was to prevent the ice cream melting through my cone which was so thoughtful of her. We sat down to eat our ice cream while we waited for Miles to bring out the cake. When he brought it out, he noticed we were eating our ice cream , asked us if we were going to finish it here and since we were he told us that he can keep it in the fridge till we were done so it won't melt! I felt offended because I visit this baskin Robbins often for icecream but was looked down upon just for going on a day when icecream is on sale. Granted we all know that Baskin Robbins ice cream is the bomb, right? Who doesn't love coming to Baskin Robbins on a nice hot day or even a chilly night and grab some ice cream . My usuals are mint chocolate chip (favorite), oreo cookies and cream, jamoca almond fudge or even your regular cookies and cream. However, this place is disgustingly dirty! Unless Baskin Robbins is trying to catch a lawsuit from me or another customer in the near future, they need to start cleaning up the place, seriously. Last night I was wearing flip flops and there was ice cream on the floor when I went to pay. Of course I didn't notice it until I almost slipped and fell. Had I fallen...now that would have been a disaster for both myself and for the location or even the company itself. If YELP allowed us to indicate certain sections in BOLD, this would be one of those sections. The tables are filthy, no one seems to wipe them down, the floors are disgusting with straw wrappers and ice cream all over the place. I suggest they do some major clean up here. Most times when you walk into this Baskin Robbins or any one of their other locations, you see nothing but young teenagers working there and MAYBE a manager on hold. Now, I know some teenagers don't really care to take the initiative to want to clean, mop the floor, pick up trash from the floor, what have you...but they are gonna wanna think about that if a disaster were to happen in their location. From an observant customer's standpoint, I suggest the manager get to business and tell their workers to step up the cleaning or have a manager on site that will do it. I'm just saying...don't catch a case! I still very much enjoy my baskin robbins treats when I come here, including their ice cream cakes which I have ordered several from this location...but I'd like for a cleaner shop. Thanks! Another sad goodbye. I was at this location nearly a year ago. I got the jamoca shake. I spent $8 and it tasted like flavored milk. It was just really bland. And since I feel like I should get the same awesome jamoca shake no matter what BR I go to, I was disappointed to say the least. I haven't tried to redeem my free birthday scope of ice cream in at least 5 or 6 years. So when I went in to this location this past weekend to get it, I was sadly disappointed. They told me they couldn't use the coupon off my phone. They couldn't scan it. They couldn't type anything into their machine. They wouldn't do anything for me. In this day in age, yes you can. It's just a bummer, cause I wanted to also order a milkshake for my friend who was waiting in the car. But instead I walked out. They said I had to go home and print it out and bring it back. Friendly staff and pretty good ice cream. I still prefer coldstone's but have no problem patronizing baskin if there's no coldstones nearby. I especially love going during fall because of their amazing fall flavors, notably pumpkin cheesecake. OMGGGG it gives me so much life. I always get a kids size cup, which equates to one well sized scoop and I savor each and every spoon. I'm one of those pumpkin obsessed folks, and this icecream really hits the spot.
