This was my first time trying a Mango & Tamarind Neada, and needless to say this was SOOO refreshing! It's similar to a Mangonada but it's topped with candies and more sorbet. Service was quick and friendly, I was in and out in less than 10 mins (not including the time deciding on which one to try). Anyways, I definitely recommend y'all stop by and grab a dessert to go, they accept credit cards which is definitely a plus! read more

It says they take credit cards but really, they take Zelle. I got 3 of the mangonada ice cream version. It came out to $24. I thought it was expensive for the amount of got. I didn't know if it was because there were 2 other people behind me but I felt like I got less then what I've seen in other pictures. I'll probably try the mangonada next time. The lady who helped me was very nice though. read more

Such a hidden gem. 1. I've never had a mangonada before today and I'm so happy that my first one was from here. 2. Weather was warm and line was long, but the wait wasn't too bad. 3. The mangonada was $5 and it was a pretty hefty amount. 4. I love the mango sherbert/ice cream with the chamoy. The sherbert has a very mellow mango flavor, but is instantly brought out with the chamoy. The texture of it is nice too! Not too icey and not creamy at all. 5. The little pieces of candy are so good too. I love how chewy they are. read more

I was originally looking for a place that served the Mexican fruit cups often with jicama, mango, and pineapple with lime juice and chile powder. Instead, I discovered the mangonada. Not quite a drink unless you let the sorbet on the bottom melt, it is then topped with mango, chamoy sauce, lime, chile, and a tamarind straw. A nice blend of sweet and tart to enjoy on a hot day but be prepare to wait as the line gets long at this small spot in a strip mall (same one as Marita's) that only boasts 2-3 tables. read more

Update; went in to give them a second chance. Owner offered a complementary mangonada. Well again their mango ice cream was hard. I'm Done Worst Mangonada I've ever had. Normally they are decent 3 stars...today the mango ice cream was hard. So the girl said she could make it with shaved ice. Tasted ok at first .... than just became a bland watery mess. I had to throw most of it away. Won't be returning. I'll take a ride over to United in mission instead. read more

I was craving some ice cream after dinner, so I decided to pay Paleteria El Plebe a visit. One scoop of cookies and cream ice cream was $4, and the scoop was MASSIVE (hence the extra star). But the ice cream itself was not good at all. It tasted like a mix of freezer and Dreyer's ice cream, which I absolutely did not like. I'm pretty certain they don't make their ice cream in house unlike other palaterias. I also arrived at 8:40pm; they took me as their last customer and shut the door afterwards. Their Yelp and hours of operations on their door says they close at 9pm though. From what I'm reading in other reviews, I'm guessing they close and open whenever they want to? read more

This place is legit!!! We got the mangoneada and a half strawberry mangoneada. Soooooooo good. If you're paying by card, make sure to add a tip for the hard working employees before they swipe because you can't write one in afterward. Definitely going to try a raspado next time we come! read more

Paleteria El Plebe is an hole in the wall, very easy to miss. look for the ice cream cone on the front for this locale. menu: ice cream (mexican? not sure), smoothies, mexican fountain desserts... eats: licur ? Came here before with the gals and walked back out lol I guess at the time we didn't really crave it lol But while hanging out at the house on a Saturday afternoon the piojosas decide they wanted a churro from Guadalajara so off they went and my pops was craving a piña Loca. So las Locas returned and surprised us with two piña Locas. It was delish! The pineapple was sweet and yummy and it had chunks of watermelon and jicama and a tamarindo stick and lots of chamoy. Came here on a raining day for a mangonada. Yes ice cream in the cold weather cause it was that much of a craving. The mangonada was good and hit the spot. The ice cream was more icy than creamy which I like but my kids didn't. They have a bottle of chamoy sauce available so you can add more, add as much as you want. There are bits of chewy tamarind candy which is a nice change from other locations I have been to. The service was fast and friendly. I will be back the next time I have a mangonada craving. read more

Favorite place to get Mangonadas, Raspados or Ice cream. Staff is very friendly and always willing to help you. Favorite thing about this place is the big fan at yhe entrance; perfect for this weather. Mangonadas are my favorite they are only $5 and worth every penny of it. I have gone to other places and bought a $5 mangonada as well but the portion from El Plebe is 2 times bigger than other places. Go get your Mangonada now! :) read more

Hubby and I ordered the waffle with ice cream and a hybrid between the mangonada and diablito. It was amazing!!! My husband scarfed down his waffle. In my hybrid, the sorbet was delicious, the mangos were fresh and the tamarind juice was very flavorful. But my favorite part about my experience was the customer service. We actually walked in after closing because the hours on yelp were incorrect and they still took our order. They let us try different ice cream/sorbet flavors and really took time to explain what each item was. Delicious dessert, excellent service, and good prices-I highly recommend this place! read more

I have had mangoneadas for a long time. When this place opened, I was hesitant to try them. I am so glad that I did. They have the best mangoneadas ever. The place is rather small and not quite visible but I recommend anyone in the area to stop by. My husband has tried various things and so far he has liked them all. I'm definitely addicted to coming to this place and will be coming back over and over! I recommend you bring cash because they charge for card use. read more

I didn't even get a mangonada. When we arrived, the shop was closing up because they ran out of mangonada ingredients, but the guy there (didn't get a name) offered us free ice-cream for our troubles! Talk about customer service, the guy seems to genuinely care about customer happiness. :) I'll definitely be back - to try the mangonada of course. read more

What also makes this place stand out is the little acts of kindness. Part of their service is while we were already getting busy, grubbing, they randomly offered us a complimentary yummy, soft, and fluffy eggette on a stick with their condensed milk sauce, which gave me that feeling like how a love one would just randomly give something very sweet just because. I don't go out much anymore, but if I'm craving for some outside sweets and treats oh and almost forgot to mention how pretty affordable for the quality and portions we got for our meal, I'm def bringing my nieces n nephews here when they visit! I love the different chairs, décor, games, ambiance, food, and drinks! They keep everything so clean, neat, and organized at the station from where you sanitize your hands, grab your napkins, straws and condiments-- it genuinely feels like there's something here for everyone.
