This review is for custom order ice cream cake. It was so easy to order a custom ice cream cake online. I specifically wanted the custom photo cake - where they print an uploaded picture on the top of the cake. I ordered & paid online. On the day of pick-up, they called & stated they didn't have the Fudge Crunch available so they provided alternate options. I went for the half vanilla and half chocolate ice cream with chocolate cake. This was a birthday cake for my husband and the theme is "serial killer" (lol, I know) so the picture I had put on the cake was of our two pups dressed as Freddy Krueger & Chucky. I also choose red trim to go along with the theme. I've past this Baskin Robbins a ton since I always go to the Asian Market in the plaza next to this building but honestly, didn't know this place was here - if you weren't looking for it, you'd definitely miss it. We were so disappointed with our cake. Not only did it look thrown together, but it fell apart when cutting into it. I've never experienced this before. Also I was told 37.99, but when I was rang up it was a different total. I should mention, I've ordered this cake before. For multiple birthdays. Different color same variation of the monster. This is not a new option but something they have had for years. I was also required to pay for the cake before I saw it, which is new. In the ICU at doctors placed an order on the Baskin-Robbins app. Sent my mother to pick it up. She called them to let them know she was running a couple of minutes late. They stated no problem we'll put it in the freezer. She gets there ice cream is not made. The girl behind the counter is giving her a lot of attitude saying oh we don't have the order. Do you know what it is? Then once my mother shows her a picture of my order she states she has to call her manager. The ice cream scoops. I got children's scoops when I ordered a three scoop sundae and paid almost $10. My three scoop bowl was not even filled up halfway. When I get my ice cream I call the lady tells me her name is Jody and she's the manager and starts to tell me that that's just the way. The ice cream is making excuses and then trying to tell me she will remedy the order. This service is unacceptable for a business on Mchenry. I just think they don't want to clean them at night and they just say they're out of order. Me and my friend came to get some ice cream and we saw that there was a lady that looked like she had been waiting for a while. So glad I listened to my wife and made the impromptu stop for a sweet treat. Ramy took our order, he was welcoming, conversational, and really friendly. We mentioned that we were ordering milkshakes for our kids. Noticing we didn't have our offspring with us, Ramy asked if they were in the car or if we'd be taking the milkshakes home. We told him we were taking them home and he quickly responded that he'd make the milkshakes extra thick so they'd still be good by the time the kids took their first sip. I've been buying ice cream from this establishment for over 20 years. However I believe today will be my last visit. The young man who waited on me (I didn't get his name before he walked away). He was small framed with dark hair of Indian decent. He put clean gloves on and then touched the top of his mask under his nose. He also touched further up his nose as he fidgeted with pulling his mask up. All while he's scooping the ice cream and handling the cup.He also takes his mask off while running the register with other customers still in the store. Not only is this unsanitary but in this time of COVID 19 it's unacceptable. He waited on me a few months ago when we were just learning about Covid and mask wearing so I opted not to say anything. I too have been completely appalled by the sticky, unorganized, completely chaotic BR in Modesto (i have never had the misfortune of needing a restroom there, thank god!). The only times i have been in are on warm summer nights with a line out the door, but still, being busy is NO excuse!, come on, where's the wet rag to wipe down the tables..maybe mop the floor a little too? The same 2 employees are always there when the fiance and i drop by. A tom-boy-ish girl (looks like a soccer player) who has the brains in the bunch. she runs around with her head cut off. bless her heart. and a wide eyed young blonde guy who miiiiiight be a sophomore in high school. he's a little slow but steady. corporate indeed needs to check this location out. its a disgrace to Mr. Baskin AND Mr. Robbin (RIP!). This is a fun place for a quick visit. It can get loud, but what do you expect from a place that specializes in giving out large quantities of sugar. Get an ice cream cake for someone on their birthday and you'll be made a party legend. I also like how the teenagers here seem okay with customers coming in. I have encountered much cleaner bathrooms in gas stations. Went to Baskin-Robbins on a Saturday night at about 8PM. The ladies room was 'out of order'. I made a poor decision and braved the men's room. Switch light on, scan room, sinking feeling...my feet are stuck to floor, there is urine EVERYWHERE!!!! Men, seriously, do you pee like this at home? Shame on you! I immediately complained to one of the kind employees(all guys that night I might add-could explain the dirty BR sitch. ) The guy explained that now that they are under new ownership they are understaffed so cleaning the bathroom goes by the wayside. The actual eating area was also messy. Tables and chairs askew, napkins and spoons on the ground, etc. I love this Baskin-Robbins and I'm sure I'll be back. LOVE. The employees here are actually pretty awesome: friendly, fast, and professional. I can always find an ice cream cake here in a pinch (like when I forget your birthday). Ordered a specialized cake over the phone for my fathers big 60th surprise party. Had to have my sister pick it up who had no idea what it was supposed to look like an hour before the party. As instructed by myself I told her to pick it up and tip them with the money I gave her. When she arrived I was horrified at what I found!!! The cake looked nothing like what was on line. It looked like a four year old did it. My sister said the girl said it was her first time making the cake which was completely evident. I took a picture of it into the shop the following Monday the girl who helped me was really nice and also shocked herself at the cake. She told me she would let her manager know and he will contact me. Four days went by and no contact from the owner. ALWAYS CHECK YOUR RECEIPT. Their computer over charged me by 4$. The staff said there was nothing they could do, finally the manager came out and had to get on the computer manually. He said he would tell the owner to call the company to reset the computer. Do you realize how many BR need to reset their computers, it is not 3 for 12$, it is 3 for 13.99, which is fine but I still got over charged by 4$. When I enquired about it the girl said she'd made one of the scoops larger because she didn't realize it was going to be a Sunday. When I ordered I started with "I'd like 2 one scoop Sundays paid separately." Then when I ordered each specifically I said the ice cream and topping choice. If she made one larger than the other that's her error and I shouldn't have to pay for it. Granted it's only a few cents but how many times do they do that nonsense and get away with it. Great ice cream...worst service ever. Took my family including my elderly parents this evening. All the tables were filthy yet we were the only customers there. My mother asked Jackie if she could clean a table top for us and instead was handed a pink towel and was told to clean it herself. My 77 year old mother then cleaned a table while Jackie resumed texting on her cell phone...sweet! I told Jackie she needed to understand her mistake and tried to give her some positive coaching but it just resulted in more terrible attitude from this snotty brat. I came here about a few weeks ago and got a birthday cake .i was impressed by how the service was from the worker in the front. She showed me all the types of cakes they had and i asked what she choose. And she said would get the oreo happy birthday cake because it would feed more people so I got it and it was really good. I went to this location for my 1st and final time. I went in to just get two double scoops in cups. When I walked in the two girls working the place were more worried about finishing their conversation then greeting me or asking what they could do to help me today. I mean there was no "welcome to Baskin Robbins what can I get you today", or any quality customer service for that matter. After the two girls finished with that portion of their conversation one finally came to the counter. But didn't say a word just stared blankly waiting for me to order. I inform her I would like to order two cups and begin with the first one. In the meantime her co-worker begins another conversation talking crap about other customers who have come in. Since she is busy paying attention to her co-worker and not me she begins to try and ring me up for just one of my cups. At which point I have to reiterate that I wanted one more. After she finishes getting my ice cream all ready to go, I am waiting at the register to pay. The phone is ringing next to the register I'm standing at and the other co-worker is complaining and saying how she is not going to answer it, but eventually does anyway because she says it'll be too annoying if it keeps ringing. During the commotion with the phone the cashier rings me up improperly and has to try again but not after taking a minute to try and spell "void"on the old receipt. I have never seen a more poorly run ice cream shop or crummy customer service as this. Talking crap about your customers (which is the reason you have a paycheck) and using vulgar language is unacceptable in pretty much any field of work. read more

She did an excellent job and worked as quickly as she could but we did not like that she was there alone.
