I have been here a few times in the past but walked in today to purchase my Beretta PX4 subcompact pistol. I knew what I wanted and have done my research. The guys here at the gun counter are very knowledgeable and made my process very quick and easy. The last pistol I purchased a few months ago took over 3 hours. I was in and out in under 45 minutes. I was very pleased with the smooth process and how quick it was. I will be shopping here more often. read more

I'm so upset today my boyfriend and I went to do some Christmas shopping and we decided to go look at ice shanty's outside on the door to go outside a gated area it said doors are unlocked during business hours so okay awesome! We go out there and decide to go back in because it's cold and the door is locked! Only other out is a emergency exit so I called and the girl who picked up the phone was so rude I said hi we are locked out she yelled at me and said there is no entrance that way I said I understand that told her the situation again! Some guy comes to open the door and a other guy was behind him! The guy in street clothes followed us all around the store like he was a floor walker.. I've never felt so uncomfortable. We are bass pro shop credit card holders and shop there often I'm rethinking that now!! read more

Let's paint the picture of my Sunday afternoon. I stand behind several poorly dressed men in a makeshift line at the counter.Their t shirts imply they are true American badasses, despite their man boobs and mustard stains. After 20 minutes I am now the first person in line, suddenly all 3 employees leave the register without saying a word and assist several men in their late 70's in purchasing ammo and other products. I stand at the counter next to the cash register for an additional 10 minutes, no one says a word, no one acknowledges me. Several men in sweatpants walk up to the counter with their children in strollers, the children begin to shriek at an ungodly volume. Lots of older men decend upon the counter and begin asking questions about products they have no intention of purchasing. Finally Kevin acknowledges my existence, and thank God for him, as I am on the verge of walking out of this mess. Kevin is helpful and does everything in his power to speed my purchase along. We look forward to going to bass pro every Christmas to visit Santa and let the kids play the games set up in that space. Bass Pro does a great job of controlling the chaos that is all around where the experience feels like an exciting time rather than one of frustration and desire to run to the door. We always end up purchasing things from the area because it is all merchandised well and doesn't feel like you are standing in a crowded mall. And the Santa they have is always so gracious and ready to listen. He is the best one ever. read more

The gun range is usually pretty crowded. The guys working there are pretty nice guys and are helpful. Make sure to call ahead for an appointment. I believe it is $7 for half hr of range time still. My last visit to the gun counter (down stairs- not the actual range) I asked to see if they had some ammo. The guy behind the counter said they didn't have any and was going to leave it at that. So I asked him if he knew when they would? He replied saying my guess is as good as his. Not sure why an employee would say that, considering I am a customer and have no idea when they get orders in?!? He said it could be tomorrow, next month or in 6 months. I called around and Bass Pro shop was the only one that said "bring your dog in and try the dog life vests on her to see what fits" So Bass pro shop has won me over by letting me bring my best friend in AKA my dog. thumbs up bass pro, for understanding "mans best friend" go hand in hand with the love the outdoors. This place is huge. They have everything. That's everything a person like me wants. You can steal anything. So easy from here. Just need a bag from mall store. Not a bass pro plastic bag. If alarm goes off the people there on the mall just wave you through. And your out no one, chases you. Come back do it again. Go put shit in car come back in with your bag fill it up then leave. Easy as taking pie. No BS shop and leave. It's like they don't want to be sued in court. read more

I really like this place. They have a great selection of fishing and boating equipment. The prices are reasonable. The pistol range check in is like going into east Germany during the 1980s, but I suppose it's understandable given it's connected to the mall. read more

I recommend this store to friends all the time and then I get this service which immediately makes me question my recommendation! I had the same experience as you ANDY. The gun dealers there act as if they are God's gift to guns. I stood there with my wife browsing and not once was I asked if I needed assistance. Finally I asked to see a firearm and the dealer stood in front of me in an intimidating stance after he handed it to me for inspection. Lame! Don't waste your time or money here! Unless of course you like being treated like crap. That is all. read more

The holiday rush is over and after thinking about things I have to say a few words on BassPro Shop's Santa policy. Went there with family two weeks before Christmas on a Thursday at 5PM. Brought our 2 year old grandson, his parents, aunt and uncle so they could watch him visit Santa for the first time! We went to the entrance table and were told all passes were gone for the night. This is a 35-40 minute ride for all of us.The ads state if line gets longer than 30 minutes you can get a ticket so you won't need to stand in line. Sought a store manager and asked her of this she could not be more dismissive and said we needed to get there earlier, She seemed upset with my questioning and I got no help or compassion for our family. Saw some other kids crying because they also could not get in. My local bait and tackle shop will be getting all my family business from now on read more

After two visits to this store I will not be returning. First visit bought a folding knife and thermarest mattress. It was an OK experience. However, the Camillus knife I bought was junk, they should not sell them. When I returned two days later to exchange it for a S&W folding knife I met with a lot of attitude. My complaint was the knife wouldn't retract unless I used both hands, which every folding knife I've ever owned I've been able to open and close with just my right hand. The customer service lady was not very attentive, and when she called over a hunting employee he was flat out rude. He told me that only a spring operated knife could be closed with one hand, which is not true. Eventually he relented and let me do the exchange. However, considering Bass Pro Shops are supposed to have a no hassle return policy, and I had the product, packaging, and original recipt...I went though a lot of gripe to do an exchange. S&W makes a much better knife that I can fold with one hand, and no it is not spring operated. read more

I had the experience on several occasions to experience the unprofessionalism and bias of the staff of bass pro shop. I went in to purchase a firearm, and was totally ignored by five sales people behind the counter. In addition when a caucasion gentleman came to inquire about something, all of the five sales people nearly broke their neck trying to serve him. Finally when I did get a disgruntle employee that walked away from the group of five I was told that I could not purchase a fire arm unless I had an FOID. Well I am in Law Enforcement, and do have a valid FOID card as well as other credentials. Once the sales guy saw my ID's then it became yes sir, this was just one out of three trips I took here very unsatisfied unpleasant and unprofessional. In addition no wonder this company has had various lawsuits regarding race and discrimination if you can find a friendlier sporting goods store please do this place is a waste of time, and energy. read more
