I am not much of a outdoors or sporting person but when I went in here to purchase a GPS receiver, WOW. Huge two-level store. I got lost trying to find the section for GPS but found employees everywhere. The employee that directed me to the GPS units was in the middle of a gun sale but immediately paused and gave very specific directions. Got to the GPS units quickly after that where another sales person was there ready to help. Even took batteries from another unit to power on the demo model. Of course can't test GPS indoors but was able to see the overall functionality of it and decided to buy. Price of the unit was $199 which was exactly in line with my online research so they aren't doing extraordinary markups on their products. I walked around a bit after my purchase. They have everything you need, camping supplies, hunting supplies, boats and boating supplies. Anything and everything you need for your outdoor trip. read more

The store layout is great! The staff were very helpful and willing. I didn't much appreciate the Time Share folks trying to get me to buy a Las Vegas package though. Not what I was there for and I didn't like it, at all. The worst experience was our lunch at the ISLAMORADA FISH COMPANY. The tuna was terrible and the service was worse and we sat at the bar! Went to take my daughter to see Santa, today. When we got to where the line started there was a lady handing out return time cards. We arrived at 11:30 am and the return time for us was 7:30 pm. Needless to say my daughter was heartbroken. I can understand maybe a 2 hour wait, but 8 hours is ridiculous. read more

One of the items I brought to check out was missing it's tag. It was identical to another item I had except for color and size but rang up at the wrong price. Clerk called dept but couldn't get info. I walked back pulled off identical pcs but different size with price and took picture of sales posting. Returned to checkout and clerk kept trying to get mngr. He walked right passed her, ignoring us. She chased him down, brought him back. He looked at items, looked at the pic I had taken and in not such a friendly voice said the item hadn't been on sale for a month but was going to give us the price anyway. I think his male bun was wrapped to tight which is why he treated us that way. If he was an employee of mine and treated customers that way he would be looking for a new job. read more

Love this place. Anytime I need any hiking/outdoor gear, I go here. Only giving 4/5 stars because every single time you go here, there are staff members who try to get you to enter a drawing. They're always set up right next to the stairs, on the way to women's apparel. No matter how many times you walk by them, they ask....every single time. It's annoying. read more

After finding what I wanted and being told I could get a price match for Cabella's ( their ad on channel 6 last night said "Keen's 30% off") and waiting 23 minutes in line at customer service because they don't do it at the register, the guy said he looked up on their site and they don't have Raven only some other model. My biggest complaint is their shoes or should I say their lack of stock especially on sale items. They rarely have men's sizes above 13. Is there a zero star rating I can use? I'll never shop here again. I came in to get a holster for a pistol and was asked politely by the greeter if I had a gun in my bag. I replied yes that I was shopping for a holster. She told me that I must get a trigger lock on the weapon and then go upstairs where they can take the lock off. I said "thank you, I'll be leaving and never shop here again". She called for a manager who told me that they have bullets here and have to lock up all weapons. I said that they would only be locking up weapons from honest people who answered their greeter honestly and for that we're penalized with extra avoidable delays. No one bothered to ask me if my weapon was loaded or not. Which it wasn't. So, if Bass Pro Shops wants to infringe on my rights and put me in jeopardy, I am happy to never shop there again and tell everyone to look for alternatives to this store and it's not too well thought out practices of treating patrons like criminals. read more

Today we went to Bass Pro Shops to get our picture taken with Santa. The store looked amazing. The employees were all friendly and helpful. I know the Santa tickets are hard to get and you do have to wait in line but we went on a Friday during the day. We only waited about 20 mins in total. We then shopped and found a lot of fun items. This is definately a huge store with such large sections of just about everything you need for outdoors. The awesome displays of animals make you want to hunting but they do need some dusting off. Sometimes it does pay not to be a whiny spoiled brat, when things don't go you way, but instead to be a little understanding. I have been looking at a shotgun at Base Pro Shop, to shoot trap and sport clay,targets for weeks. Monday we were ready and I brought a Browning 725, a starter gun at $3200, which is a lot to me.After I bought it I asked the salesperson to put it together so I could put it in my new case, they always come as stock and barrels separate. When he went to put it together it would not fit or lock, it was defective!! :-( I was seriously disappointed and the sales manager could see that, but I knew it was not his fault and kept my cool. I could see he was upset as well and I knew it was not his fault. After 45 min we could not fix it and it was the only one he had left. He looked at me and asked if there was another gun I wanted, I said a Beretta 692, but I would not afford it at $4600. He went to his computer and said I will sell it to you for over $900 off, I did not know what to say except THANK YOU!!. It was such a kind gesture and Base Pro Shop has gained a customer for LIFE!!!!! I also ended up with a great shotgun, that I could never afford. read more

Was in your archery dept on 3/3/15. I wanted to shoot a few of the higher end Bear bows & get one last night. Stood around for 30 min waiting patiently for your associate to stop messing around with children in the archery lane. I even smiled & nodded when he peered out from under his hobbit glasses but when he saw I was looking he would make obvious attempts to not make eye contact. When he peaked his goblin head out he yelled past me & my friend to the two old guys who just walked up to look at arrows and told them he's be right with them. Then finally when he emerged he made an extra effort to walk around us to get to the guy who was looking at a bow case. At that point I was furious and as I was walking away the other customer said we were here first too which the associate replied, "oooooookaaaaaay?" I don't know what this little trolls problem was. Maybe he was intimidated by a girl who probably knows more about archery than him. Who knows? What I do know is that I work for one of your archery competitors & not only did you lose at least $600 in sales, I will never send business to your store again. read more

I read about kids night online and I thought it was a great idea. You want a person to buy your products? Teach a person how to use your products. When the boys and I got to the archery range we met employee Justin. I let him know the skill level of my boys, which is none. After signing the liability waiver he gave my 9 year old kids bows and then sat down for a break, this concerned me somewhat but he was the expert. While my boys were hitting everything but the targets Justin had nothing to say no advice no recommendations no education. After about 30 minutes another employee showed up and noticed that my right handed boy was using a left handed bow and my left handed boy was using a right handed bow. After having the boys switch bows and giving them a short lesson they started hitting the targets more and the wall and ceiling less. After a few minutes more sitting down was difficult for Justin and he decided that our time was up in a few arrows. I looked to see how long the line of people waiting was and no one was there, Justin was just not in the mood to be helpful. I don't know who the older employee was as he did not have a nametag but he was definitely helpful. One of the reasons I took the boys to this was to see if they were interested in learning archery and if I should buy them archery items for Christmas. The answer to that was a resounding NO!!! While the store undoubtedly has the equipment for many outdoor sports it does not have the training. I am not going to buy thousands of dollars in equipment that will probably end up being the wrong equipment. I am not in the habit of buying anything that I do not know how to safely use. I have never been fishing but I would have liked to take them. I have never used a bow but I would have liked to take them. Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will teach his kids how to fish and buy the fishing gear. For the record, every other employee I met was great. From the greeter to the fudge guy to the cashier they were great. read more

This review is really just about Santa's Wonderland. We saw a long commercial on TV talking about this and decided to bring our 1-year old for her first visit with Santa after work. Well, we showed up and were told we HAD to have a stupid pass, which they had no more of (and their long infomercial doesn't mention this tidbit). Then I find out to get one, you have to come the day of, in the morning, and in person...Just so you can come back again later in the day? What working parent has time for that? Heck, what parent period wants to drag the kids out twice for this? It is incredibly inconvenient not to at least have an online pass system. Live in the NOW! I'm so irritated by this inconvenience, I'd actually rather pay for my photo at the mall then have to go to this place twice in one day for a free picture. Update your system so it is more convenient for parents, please! read more

This review is solely based on my experience with the Firearm Department. I came here to purchase my first handgun and the customer service was top notch. They had at least 4 people behind the gun counter helping multiple people. The associate that help me let me handle several handguns so I could get a feel for the one that fit my needs. He informed me on the differences between a few types of 9mms which was ultimately the weapon I opted for. I purchased a Taurus 24/7 9mm that I felt was priced well. He also helped me determine which handgun cleaning kit was best suited for me. The background check process was smooth as can be and only took about 15 minutes from the time I started filling out paperwork to the point were I was approved. Not only was this a very pleasant first time handgun purchase but the particular associate that rang me up also informed me about their indoor firing range. You can come here for target practice but because I purchased a firearm from here he waived the lane fee for me and my friend and I was able to try out my new gun immediately after purchasing it. The whole process was so easygoing I am considering buying a .380 in the near future. read more

BAD SERVICE ALL THE WAY AROUND - DO NOT USE THIS STORE OR THEIR WEBSITE IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN A GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE!!!! I used to be a fan but no more... I called the store and they stated that they had the item and when I arrived they only had the display item without the box and offered no discount. It was a gift so that was not even an option for me any way. There were no apologies for me spending over an hour of my time driving down there with their promise that they had the item in stock, but made a mistake as it was only the display without packaging. I was told to call their internet sales department. I did. They wanted to charge me an addtional $16.95 for shipping even after I had explained the situation. I could have purchased it from Amazon.com for less money shipped - after you added the tax and shipping from Bass Pro. When I asked the interent rep to speak to a manager he placed me on hold for a few minutes and came back on the line and told me Customer Service was closed. I complained on their website and it states that someone would get back to me the very next day... that did not happen either. Well, the loyalty does not work both ways with this company. First off, I love Bass Pro Shops store. That place is amazing to just walk a round in. You can spend hours just browsing in that place and dream about your next outdoor adventure. The down side, the prices. Everything is pretty much $15 to $40 more then I would spend on clothing and shooting products. Once In awhile I will find a deal on something and buy it. The store has a great, friendly staff that's willing to assist in any way they can. Today I was there with my son and not realizing the time, we found ourselves hungry, so we decided to try the restaurant they have in the store. To the point, it's just okay. Nothing impressive about it. I had the turkey burger and my son had the grilled fish tacos. The burger comes with lettuce, a tomato slice and a dill pickle spear and a side of fries and coleslaw. I was somewhat disappointed with the turkey burger, It's a preformed patty, not fresh ground. It was also a little salty. The fries were okay. My son said the fish tacos were really good and that was my first choice, but decided on the burger. Our waiter, Brad was great! He was really on the move making sure everyone, including us, were doing okay and taking care of anything we needed. The restaurant was very clean and kept in nice shape. I don't think I would eat there again, but I'm glad I did try the place. read more

Typically this place is great but sadly enough we will never be back to Bass Pro due to the horrid experience we received. After driving an hour to take our 1yo son & 3yo daughter to see Santa we were told its a 6 hour wait. It would be understandable if they would Inform customers about there obnoxious wait time. To make things worse we brought this issue to management & spoke to Carly & she was extremely rude & could care less that we drove an hour & kept making excuses about how we should have called ahead of time even though we did & we could not get through to anyone that knew the wait time. This is a great marketing strategy to get people in the door but in the end you lost a Customer & complete respect from us. It's sick knowing managers like Carly can even hold that position due to her disrespect and lack of care. The best part about the situation is we spoke to one of the employees at the start of the line "whom was very polite" & he mentioned that the issue has been brought up to management & there corporate office & it has not been addressed. This negative review would not even exist if management would have just acknowledge the issue & apologized instead of making excuses & roiling there eyes. Thanks Carly read more

I would not even give this location 1 star. My family and I came in to get a picture with Santa at 5:30pm. Once we approached the Santa experience we were turned away and told "it's on the website" and told us there were no other passes being handed out. The employee then proceeded to take out his phone and say "I'll prove it to you". The manager then approached us and told us the exact same thing and started laughing at us right i front of us. I then pulled up the website and asked him to show me where it says exactly that they only hand out a certain amount of passes. No where on the website does it point this out and Steve began to belittle me and laugh in my face. He wouldn't let me speak one word and told me he encouraged me to call corporate and that i am wrong. Steve has terrible customer service skills and i will be telling all of my friends and family of this experience. This was completely unacceptable and i will never give this store my service or money every again. You have lost 4 customers for life. read more

Let me start off by saying that I absolutely love walking around bass pro. A nice big store to walk around when bored. A Wide selection of clothes and outdoor products. Prices are a bit high, unless something is on sale or clearance, but that's to be expected from large chains like this. The only problem I have run into, is that when purchasing their brand or their sister brand of clothing, a lot of it is poorly made. I have had a fair amount of their stuff break or rip on me within one use. Their pants and shirts tend to be good to go though. On a bright note, if something does rip or break, they have a great return policy. I go there when I need decent pants. Staff is always polite and helpful. One thing I think they could use is some higher end camping equipment and firearms accessories. A lot of their stuff is low end stuff. Great store to browse and kill time. Great staff. read more

It's hard to find words to describe what an incredible store this is. The beautiful exterior of the facility is just the beginning. Once the massive doors open, you are exposed to the realistic outdoor scenery as if entering a new realm. The waterfall, aquarium and fish-filled stream are gorgeous. Bass Pro Shops has a massive selection of outdoor equipment ranging from fishing to hunting and camping to boating. It's a great place to shop with kids too! There are always fun activities to keep them busy. I don't know that the sales people appreciate it, but my 2-year old son sure loves spending a lot of time checking out the sleek Nitro and Tracker boats in the showroom! Once the kids work up an appetite, take them over to the Islamorada Fish Company Restaurant for something to eat. It's a great little place to sit down with the family and relax with an ice cold beer, some fried alligator, and a juicy burger cooked to perfection. I took my daughter to Santa's Wonderland and we got a fast pass for a 6:30pm "appointment" time. There were two lines: a 6pm line and a 6:30 line... There were 4 families in the 6pm line and about 4 ahead of us in our line. We waited for 20+ minutes before overhearing two families come up and get in line behind us. One of the employees, Nicholas, asked them if they had fast passes. When they said no, he instructed them to go ahead and line up in the 6pm line.... Letting them go ahead of all of us who had already been waiting. When we confronted him about it he basically said oh well. We headed over to customer service where we spoke with a manager, I believe her name was Dani... She apologize and acknowledged that this was wrong and shouldn't have happened. But NOT ONCE did anyone make an effort to rectify the situation. Acknowledging there's a problem is usually followed by an idea of how to remedy the situation. At least at establishments with good customer service. Apologies are fine but they don't change the fact that we left without my daughter getting a chance to see Santa. NEVER giving Bass Pro Shops my business ever again. This was completely unacceptable. And nothing is being done about it! read more

so I have been shopping here for the last couple of years, basically since they have opened. I have spent hundreds, maybe thousands in that time on knives, camping gear, fishing equipment, etc. However I have just recently became involved in shotguns and firearms. The last 2 visits were the last 2 I will make to the store. Went in to ask about a pistol and the old short white haired guy was stuck up and arrogant and even laughed at one of my questions. At that point I just walked away. Went in yesterday for some 12 ga. Ammo. Stood in line in the firearms area for 20 MINUTES!! Just to ask their opinion on some hd shells. Was met with the overall "I'm too busy just to answer questions" type of attitude from everyone. I will take my business now to cabelas, dicks, big 5, even ctd in texas before bass pro shop get another penny from me. read more
