I just moved to the area and came to this Mobil to get an estimate on some auto repairs. There is a large sign in front of the building that says "Mechanics available Monday through Friday." I made an appointment to bring my car in and have the issues looked at. I was told a "diagnostic" would be performed when I brought the car in. NOWHERE is it posted that "diagnostics " ARE A PAID SERVICE! Also, I was not told at the time of scheduling the appointment that there would be a charge for this! Now let's discuss the estimate, shall we? $695.65! For argument's sake, let's just call this $700! Seven-hundred dollars to replace to trunk struts and (from what Allen described) completely cut-out wires to even get to the POSSIBILITY that my starter might be going out. As far as I am concerned, this place has underhanded business strategies that are in place to line their pockets. Terrible experience and I will NEVER patronize this place. They do EVERYTHING for the reputation of the scamming mechanic that hands you a bag of parts and tells you how badly your car needs service. Total BS. Stay away! read more

I have been taking my cars here for over 15 years for oil changes and for all repairs and scheduled maintenance (except for repairs covered under the factory warranty). They stand behind their work. The rare times there was an issue, they listened and made it right. From my best estimation, their repair costs are reasonable. The price for a set of tires was over the Costco list price, but it was worth the difference taking my car here since it saved me over an hour since I can walk home and wait. Also, I feel better taking my business to a locally owned shop. The last time I brought my car in, they suggested trying a $15 fuel additive before doing anything else. This is a family owned business that really knows its stuff, I have used the roadside assistance, as well as their shop for random repairs on my car. I kind of know how things work and they have never tried to buffalo me. The work is done in a timley fashion and the repairs are done as promised. The place is clean and you can wait for an oil change if you wish, but it is a little cramped. I have been annoyed however at the small fees that are added to the bill. I got 2 tires then I had to pay for mount and balance, shop supplies, and disposal fee. Just a little disappointing. But RECOMENNDED for sure. read more

Brought my car in for a rattling noise. They performed an end to end diagnosis first ruling out major mechanical issues and then determined it was a minor issue with a heat shield. They did this at an extremely reasonable cost. The communication at Batavia Mobil is beyond excellent. I was able to speak directly with the mechanic who serviced my car. He provided detailed information about the process and the repair and answered all of my questions before I could even ask them. When I went to pick up the car, I spoke with the owner, who summarized everything and made sure I was satisfied and didn't have any questions. Overall a great experience! read more

This gas station/repair shop, is a breath of fresh air!! My Daughter, is 17, & drives my Dad's old car. I put a lot of money into the car initially, at my Dad's old dealer. I HAD NO IDEA HOW MUCH THAT OTHER PLACE HAD BEEN OVER CHARGING ME!! Until, I discovered this wonderful, & trustworthy business!! These people are straight forward, & charge such reasonably rates, that I've questioned them, to make sure they did everything I wanted. Have no doubt! They've done the work on my 17 year old baby's car! They've fixed things, I thought were new... but, saw w/ my own eyes, the dealer had not done what they said!! The first time I called them, I had asked this cute little auto parts store, on Wilson, a few blocks away, where to take my Daughters car. They gave me Batavia Avenue Mobil's phone number. They went & picked up my Daughter's car, right away! Then, they called me, just an hour later, w/ the diagnosis, & price. I talked w/ them about different options. I, always do the best, most safe thing, for my Daughter (still my baby!). So, I braced myself, for the $1500.-$3000. I was used to paying, the dealer! Especially when he warned me, it would be expensive! So, he says: $300. I kid you not!! He got everything fixed perfectly, in no time!! I can't tell you, how relieved, & happy I am, to have discovered this sweet, little Bedford Falls-esk ("It's A Wonderful Life") Auto repair/gas station! I, considered not leaving this review, so, I could keep this little gold mine, my little secret. lol! But, these folks deserve lots of good business! They are just an honest to goodness little gem! These guys are great and really stand behind their work. I have an old truck that I take up to the north woods. Had an oil gauge issue. They tried the easy (and least expensive) fixes first, eventually a new oil pump (it was time to replace at 130,000 miles anyway). When the gauge issue persisted, they just kept at it, troubleshooting, until they tracked it down -- no extra charge. They are fast, honest, dependable and good neighbors. Can't say enough about how how well they took care of their customer -- rare today -- because they truly are local businesspeople. Have been doing business with them since I moved here 18 years ago and it's about time I shared my experience with everyone in Batavia. read more

A warning to any other AAA members: This station is registered with AAA as being open on Sundays, but it is just the oil change mechanic. There is no one there to do any major repairs. I learned this the hard way after my car broke down and I agreed to a $40 surcharge to have it towed 13 miles to here, which was the nearest repair station "open" on a Sunday. Ended up wasting the entire day. read more
