    DO NOT GO HERE. I have no idea how this store has such good reviews. Mack is rude. They have never been helpful. They ripped me off!!!!!!

    I had a lingering issue that my local mechanic (who I generally trust) quickly identified as a bad…read moretransfer case. Above 40mph, my car made a rumbling sound. The repair would cost about $2k. I wanted a second opinion so I brought my car out here, 45 mins from my apartment, but close to my parents. After about an hour or so, they gave me their opinions of what's going on. It was *similar* to what my mechanic said, but instead of the transfer case, they showed me a bolt from my differential that was rubbing and shaving metal shavings into the differential oil. There were several other things. They honestly let me know that it probably wouldn't be ready until Monday at the earliest (this was a Friday afternoon), which made since because this wasn't a quick job, and they needed to get some replacement parts on. Additionally they're only open til noon on Saturday, and not Sundays. I called them on Monday to get an update. Joe explained everything thoroughly to me on the phone. Letting me know how they were planning to resolve the various problems. They also changed their mind on 1 problem, and identified an issue that was masked by the rumbling sounds. This was my front left wheel bearing. They replaced my rear diff, serviced my front driveshaft, transfer case, rear driveshaft, full front left wheel bearing replacement. Indeed it took almost a week to complete, but the problem has been fixed and it's been about 2 weeks now. Also, they get the benefit of the doubt because some of the delay was caused by two of their partners giving bad parts. First, the brought a part for the front, not the rear. Second, another supplier brought in a used part that Joe said was not up to par in quality, so they didn't use it. Extremely pleased with the work, and the staffs knowledge and friendliness. I only really worked with Joe, who was a 10/10, I can only imagine the other managers are as well. Nice job!!!

    WARNING: IF YOU ARE A PERSON OF COLOR, CONSIDER USING A DIFFERENT LOCATION…read more I realize this country has tremendous racial tension, but one place I never expected to see this expressed so vehemently was with Firestone where I was rudely denied service for false reasons. I have utilized this location 3-4 times since moving to St. Charles, but my working relationship with Firestone goes back over a decade, dating back to my days of working for Enterprise and servicing our fleet through Firestones all over the country. Needless to say I am very familiar with automotive safety. I set an appointment earlier in the week to have my winter tires removed and my Continental Contisportcontact SP ZR rated (Summer tires) mounted. The summer tires are nearly brand new and have less than 1,200 miles, as I barely drove my performance SUV before the seasons changed. Upon my timely arrival for my appointment, I parked my pick-up truck holding the tires in front of the garage and my wife parked my SUV in a parking spot. Gary Roberts looked at me, then walked out to the garage and briefly glimpsed at my pick-up that carried the tires from about 15 feet away for less than 30 seconds then walked back into the facility where I was coldly greeted with a "Can I help you?" Reading his unwelcoming energy, I cut to the chase and informed him I was here for my appointment where he coldly retorted "What for?" I needlessly explained the reason for my appointment that I know is documented in their system. Gary first said "the profile of those tires are too low and we don't have the machinery to do anything with them." I asked "how could that be when you all mounted, then unmounted these very tires, and even mounted the winter tires that are on there now?" Gary said I've never seen either of those vehicles before and I've worked here for 6-7 years now. Why does that even matter, as I'm sure Firestone is not paying him to work 24-7 on every vehicle? Then he said well "the tread depth is too low and we have a policy in place, so I can't do it." I told him to keep his policy, and I'll keep my money. Keep in mind he only saw my tires for less than 30 seconds from 15 feet away, so how could he make this distinction without a tread depth gauge? If he is able to eyeball tread depth from 15 feet away, he should definitely own his own tire shop vs. working for Firestone. I realized Gary was just looking for reasons to not do business with me at all. On something as important as tires, I didn't want him to even touch my vehicle at this point. Was it because I'm a young black man? The world may never know, but I've never faced such rude customer service in my life. He could have at least taken a tread depth gauge and tried to prove his assumption, but his very matter of fact/ case closed demeanor and need to be right demonstrated his lack of desire to accommodate my appointment, which proves to me it had nothing to do with Firestone's policy. In fact to prove a point, I called the Firestone in Batavia, to inquire what the necessary tread depth requirements were for mounting tires and the gentleman said 4/32nds would be just fine. At a minimum each of my tires were above 5/32nds+. I was able to have my summer tires put on without any issue and I was treated warmly at the Batavia location. This proved to me that the problem is Gary Roberts and until he receives some sort of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion as well as customer service training or perhaps relieved of his position, I would recommend any person of color AVOID the East Main Street St. Charles location at all cost. Do NOT spend your money where you are not appreciated. Below are the tread depths of the tires also a picture of them mounted by the great team at Firestone Batavia at 351 S. Randall Rd. Lying about why and denying service for no reason will not be tolerated in 2025. I could not in good faith spend another dime at this location.
