    Fig and prosciutto white pizza
    Steph C.

The pizza here is delicious--crust is pillowy soft and chewy but also with a slight amount of crisp. Definitely do pizza! Got the fig and prosciutto white pizza and it was great. Also had the oxtail fettuccini which was pretty good, the nectarine salad, and octopus appetizer. All was tasty. Only off putting thing is that the server didn't stagger the delivery of our dishes. All 4 dishes arrived at once--our two appetizers and 2 entrees. We were sharing family style so it was unfortunate that we couldn't slowly enjoy the apps otherwise the entrees would get cold. Nice ambience and classy space.

Solid happy hour, perfect sized mini pizzas if you're looking for a quick bite and a beverage. Toppings are more like three star worthy honestly, but the dough and resulting crust are unequivocally worth an extra star. Blistered on the edges but still maintains a fantastic toothsome nature. Ambiance is comfortable, wish they opened the blinds a little earlier than they do (and I get it, that location from a sun perspective gets a lot and it can get very toasty) but here's hoping when the heat dies down a touch they'll roll up a little earlier. Staff is friendly and back of the house turns out those aforementioned pizzas in a blink of an eye.

The vibe, the service, the food, the bathrooms. All top notch. We sat at the bar for a few minutes waiting for our friends. The bartenders were super friendly and the drinks were quite refreshing. We started off with some appetizers. The Prosciutto and Burrata appetizer as well as the Fried Calamari and Shrimp were fantastic. I had the oxtail fettuccine and my wife had the branzino. The oxtail fettuccine was very good. Tangy flavor and pasta cooked just right. My wife said she enjoyed the branzino, especially the couscous the fish sat on top of. We shared the Carne Mía pizza which was also very good. I loved the flavor of the pizza, but I prefer my crust a bit more solid. I essentially rolled my pizza to eat it. Maybe that's how they do it in Southern Italy. Super tasty nonetheless. Our waiter, Michele, was also fantastic. He was very attentive and cordial. And the kicker; super clean bathrooms! Our waiter Michele was awesome.

Excellent pizza in a beautiful restaurant with friendly service! It has a classy, upscale vibe but the food is reasonably priced. Making a reservation here was easy. Came here for a late lunch at 3:45 on a Sunday. There was plenty of seating available. To start, we got the Fried Calamari and Shrimp (4.5/5), which was satisfying and crispy. I was craving pizza, and got the Salsiccia (5/5), which had sausage, bell peppers, olives, and red onions. The dough/crust was very good. It was filling, and I took home a large slice as leftovers. We tried the Hazelnut Tartufo (4.5/5) for dessert, which was delicious and tasted like an elevated Ferrero Rocher.

First time here. We had Andrea who had a great personality. She gave us good recommendations. I didn't want a spicy margarita but wanted the mini popsicle from one of the drinks so Andrea set me up! We enjoyed the prosciutto plate, arugula salad and calamari plate. It was really delicious. I also had the ravioli with wild mushrooms and that was as so tasty!

Frequented their location at the Veranda for years. Excited to see a WC location. Booked a reso Father's Day after the movies. Sat near the open airy entrance near the partition. Beautiful views of the bar. Loved the relaxed vibe. Decor was spot on. Server was very nice and attentive. Ordered ... beets with honey ricotta. 4/5. Needed a pinch of salt. Otherwise nice and flavorful. Marechiara. Squid ink pasta with scallops and clams. 4/5. pasta was tasty and flavorful with nice chew. Nicely seasoned and not spicy. Just enough. Pork belly rigatoni. Al dente pasta. Pork belly wasn't fatty at all. Tomato based sauce was nicely seasoned and tossed. 4/5 Tiramisu. A bit watery. Not enough lady finger to custard ratio. Sugar wasn't fully dissolved so bites of the dessert had grains of sugar at the bottom. Also, the custard was over whipped. Wished it was a bit more dense. 3/5 Cannoli. Loved the crunch of the shell. The pop of lemon zest was refreshing. The filling itself was okay l. Comparing it to NYC, where I last had a cannoli. 3.5/5 Crust bread was yummy with their house dipping sauce. Just enough sour in their dough and crustiness. 4/5

TL:DR - must try Parking - crazy as always. Be patient Service - prompt, efficient and super friendly Ambience - pretty loud but your can still have a conversation Food Octopus - delicious. Well balanced Tuna appetizer - awesome started. Must try Doppio zero pizza - super high quality ingredients. Wanted the crust much crisper which is my preference Pork belly pasta - this one reminded me of a stufato eaten in Siena. Delicious

The restaurant at this location has been opened for about 3 weeks. We were able to walk right in at 8:00 on a Saturday night. The servers were very attentive and I love the casual setting of the restaurant. We ordered one of our favorite pizza, Doppio Zero, a little gem salad, fettuccine with with oxtail, and rigatoni with pork belly. Everything was delicious.

Just discovered the new Doppio Zero location in Walnut Creek, and it was the best . The food was excellent--especially the white and red veggie pizzas we ordered. Easily one of the best pizzas I've had in a long time. The crust was thin, perfectly baked, and light enough that it felt like a guilt-free indulgence. We also tried the arugula salad topped with pumpkin seeds and blue goat cheese, which was fresh, well-balanced, and paired perfectly with the pizza. A great clean and satisfying dinner overall, especially enjoyed with beer. What stood out was the service--they were attentive and very accommodating with our vegetarian preferences, making thoughtful substitutions without any hassle. The ambiance has a lovely "little Italy" feel with music, wine, beer, and a warm, lively vibe. Really enjoyable atmosphere for a relaxed dinner. Definitely coming back again -Doppio Zero, Walnut Creek

Checked out the new Doppio Zero in WC today. Overall the service was good, we were seated right away and had a choice of tables. (We sat at a the front portion of the restaurant which had open doors to the outside of the restaurant). Overall, the service was good. It took a little while for us to get our waters in the beginning but once we got an experienced server, things were smooth afterwards. This is a new restaurant so they are training a bunch of new servers so it might take a little bit for them to get the hang of things. The ambience was chill and relaxing. The owner was walking around as well and checking in with tables. The food was amazing. Everything from the appetizers to the main course to the dessert was really delicious. The beet salad was phenomenal. The pizzas were really good, a little soggy towards the middle of it, but the crust was amazing. The desserts were amazing, especially the vanilla bean gelato. Will definitely be coming back and trying other things on the menu. Glad we have this new spot in WC.

Loved their pizza crust, absolutely delicious. So soft and fluffy while still maintaining that beautiful char on the bottom. We ordered the Bufalo mozzarella pizza. If you haven't tried bufalo mozzarella, I highly recommend - more flavorful and tangier than regular mozzarella. So good! Very fresh and the tomato sauce was just enough to balance everything out. Simple and delicious! I have more feedback for the owner/manager please reach out thank you!

Had to come back and try some more dishes!! Ordered the crispy cauliflower again because it's so good! The tuna tartar was fresh and I loved the homemade chips it's served with (wish there were a few more!) had to order to Doppio Zero pizza again. Perfect crust- crispy and topped with arugula, shaved parm, prosciutto, and the best burrata of my life! We also tried the seasonal pear pizza- topped with pears, bacon, and goat cheese. It was a nice sweet savory combo. The marechiaro pasta was homemade squid ink noodles (my fav) topped with scallops and clams in a light tomato sauce. It was very "of the sea" and very good. The star was the oxtail fettuccine- wow!!! Perfect homemade noodles in the richest meatiest sauce! Have to go back for that! Service was great and fast! A nice addition to Walnut Creek.

We went here on a recent late Bday celebration. It was a slightly warm evening, but not busy for a dinner for 3. My friend had made a reservation and we were sat right next to the window with a breeze. We had started with the Burrata cheese and tomatoes and olives as an appetizer. I had orders a Negroni and wifey had a glass of White wine. I wound up getting the Daily special of Sea Bass over risotto. The Waiter was very nice and helpful throughout our dinner. He He even brought out our dessert on the house. The dessert was a Panna Cotra. Nice Ambience and terrific food made a nice late Bday dinner. Service was also friendly and enjoyable.

Blue neon arches, a huge underwater mural, plush chairs and low tables along the back wall. Worth the detour. Chris was working the bar on his second day and greeted us like a regular. I skipped my usual Manhattan and went with the Smoke Break, bourbon with bitters, smoke and black cherry. He nailed it. That is the one I would order again. Kudos to Chris for making the smoke linger and make the drink taste fantastic. I had this one in Oregon and it was cool but Chris did a better job with his method that really did serious justice to the name. My wife wanted the Cucumber Cooler, but they were out of cucumber. She pivoted to Sauvignon Blanc, and they were out of that too. The wine list runs four whites and four reds, so there is not much room to maneuver if the cocktails are not your thing. Chris read the situation, offered up a Paper Airplane since she wanted something refreshing, and put it on the house. Classic good bartending. It was louder than expected for how few people were in the room. On a Saturday with a DJ, music and dancing, I would guess the volume gets close to a rave. Go Tuesday or Wednesday if you want to hear the person across from you, and you will probably catch them fully stocked. My guess is weekends clean them out. Cocktails run 16 to 18 dollars. There is also a 300 dollar tequila and cognac number called La Maria served in a glass rimmed with gold dust, if you have something to celebrate. Happy hour is Tuesday through Friday, 3 to 5. They are on the ground floor of the Waymark apartments at 121 Pringle Ave with a small patio out front and heaters. Great spot to hang out and talk with friends, and a good pre dinner or post dinner stop rather than a destination for the whole night. When those doors shut you are transported somewhere neat. I would go again.

This Spanish/Mexican restaurant is simply EXCEPTIONAL. It's located across from the Post Office in Walnut Creek, just a short distance from the swanky North Main Street restaurant and bar scene. "Ezkina" is Basque for the Spanish word "esquina" which means "corner," and you can spot the difference the minute you walk in: real cotton/linen napkins on every table - none of the polyester or paper nonsense. Order a drink. Every cocktail is top-of-the-line. My wife had a margarita, and I had a Manhattan. Did the bartender go to Harvard's Bar Tender's School? We savored every sip. We enjoy trying new dishes, so this time I had the Chicken Mole De La Casa, and my wife had the Huitlacoche Stuffed Chicken (Huitlacoche adds sort of a smoky, woody, mushroom, and black truffle taste to the dish). Both were out-of-this-world delicious. I'm so glad we ended up across the street. It's an open area restaurant with a very large wraparound bar and rooftop deck seating overlooking downtown. Despite it being windy and chilly, we didn't get cold at all. I regret not taking photos of the restaurant itself as the ambience was so unique. We ordered 3 appetizers and no mains. Fried calamari, heirloom tomatoes with burrata and roasted brussel sprouts. Calamari: batter was a bit darker than most I've had, but consistency and crispness the same. Don't know if they used extra paprika for the color. The calamari was tender and a good contrast to the batter. The real star was their tartar sauce which was so yummy we asked for more. Tomato salad: this dish was just about perfect. What you can't see well in the photo is the burrata sitting on a bed of pesto. The pesto is arugula-based, making it much milder and not so basil-forward, which we appreciated. Brussels sprouts: It's not the best we've had but I would still order it again, if nothing more than to get those insane bacon chunks that came with the vegetables. I had the spicy maracuya and hubby had the Irish goodbye as drinks. Both wonderfully done, but I especially liked the Irish goodbye which was their take on a manhattan - instead of bourbon they used whiskey, and threw in some green chartreuse along with the vermouth. We'll have to try to recreate this at home. Service was friendly, but the server didn't check up on us. They looked understaffed. All in all, we would be sure to go back, and drag some friends with us.

Observations: 1) The place is very small. They sit you outside in a very windy alley. The food gets cold within 5min or so. Heaters don't help that much. 2) When you make a reservation on OpenTable you choose "Standard seating" - it doesn't mean inside. Inside capacity is about 50 or so ppl with 10 or so by the bar. So capacity is very limited. 3) We ordered lemonade for kids. They serve it in short glasses filled with ice to the brim (despite our ask for "no ice"), effectively reducing the liquid volume. We paid $35 for lemonade. 4) Food is very uneventful, nothing was remarkable. Their gnocchi with meat resembled Chef Boyardee from back in college times. Not sure why this place felt so pretentious with really no substance to back it. With so many options around like Montecatini, Doppio Zero, Benvenuti, La Fontaine, etc, not sure how they are still in business. Definitely not recommended for families, and have a hard time figuring out what audience they cater to.

Fantastic drink. My friend tasted mine and ordered the same. The selection is the draw here. Whiskey lines the entire back wall, the rarer bottles sit behind wire-mesh locked cabinets, and there is a deep bench of tequila, beer on tap, and wine to round things out. One look at the shelves tells you they have the base for any drink you want. We split the Margherita flatbread, pesto, fresh mozzarella, and blistered cherry tomatoes, and it hit the spot as a drinking snack. The menu goes deeper than expected for a bar, with sliders, naan tacos, and charcuterie if you show up hungry. Service was good considering the staff-to-crowd ratio. Sevan stayed attentive the whole time and clearly knows his stuff. The vibe is chill and conversation-friendly, not too loud for the size of the room, with a bank of TVs toward the back if you want to catch a game. Logistics are easy. The bar sits a short walk from Pleasant Hill BART and parking in the area was no trouble. I've been a few times before and this visit confirmed why I keep coming back. For a high quality cocktail in the East Bay, this is the spot.

I blame ownership for being cheap and not wanting to pay for enough servers. Lastly - DON'T ORDER THE KETTLE CHIPS! They used to make their own, but now they charge $4 for a bag of kettle brand chips tossed on a plate. Eew.
