I hate that I always forget to take pics...anyways, this is my second time coming here for a sandwich. 1st time it was a bit busy but they did a great job getting your order out ASAP. 2nd time, I decide to order online to beat the line and I got a text when my sandwiches were ready for pick up. You head to the window, give your name and voila...you are ready to go. It's super hard to choose what sandwich to get because they all look so good!!

A very popular deli with affordable prices on deli sandwiches! So many tasty sounding sandwiches, ended up trying the Tri Tip sandwich and the Pesto Chicken. Waited a good 35 minutes to order and love that they sell large bags of chips, family size! You can order online before you head over too, might save you a long wait to order. The Tri-tip sandwich is a Steak sandwich with melted cheese, horse radish, on garlic ciabatta (romaine, tomato, peppers, and onions. The pesto chicken sandwich is a Pesto, mayo, lettuce, spinach, tomato, bacon, chicken , cheese, with avocado. Both sandwiches were quite tasty and asked for Dutch Crunch on both. I'll definitely be back to try more of their sandwiches. The parking is horrible, limited street parking and a tiny parking lot. It was quite busy and everyone was hunting for a table after they ordered!

This place is such a hidden gem, it's in the cuts of Walnut Creek you wouldn't just stumble upon it. When I remember, which would be after work or in the late afternoon when they are closed or sold out of bread. All that to say...Go early and call ahead. I was smart to go on a Sunday afternoon, it was busy and had a good 15-20 minute wait time but it was worth the wait. The staff was super friendly and had so much patience for people who don't know what they want or had to read all they text messages to get all the orders in. Definitely worth the drive and wait definitely my new favorite. So many aren't worth the wait and overpriced. That pepper turkey is amazing!

YUMMMM!! Such a good spot for a medium priced sandwich. I got the 6.5 prosciutto caprese sandwich and I could taste every flavor of the ingredients. They have outside seating with umbrellas. This is a great place to go on a summer day or to get sandwiches before going to the beach. The service was fast. It was a busy Sunday and I got my sandwich within 10/15 minutes of ordering. Would recommend!!

I really wanted to love Morucci's given all the hype but it was just ok for me. Not great unfortunately. I did a custom sandwich and I feel like all I could taste was the bread. The line was long and slow which I understood because it was packed. But I don't think it was worth waiting in line for a sandwich that was just okay.

We were expecting a line around noon on a Sunday based on the photo reviews, so we were pleasantly surprised when we visited and were able to order right away. We waited only a couple of minutes before our sandwiches were ready. I ordered the California Club on Dutch crunch, and it was delicious! The sandwich itself isn't huge, but it was still a satisfying portion and left me feeling very full afterward. I highly recommend trying the Dutch crunch. We ate our sandwiches outside and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I'll definitely be back to try more options!

Delicious and affordable deli sandwiches. Seems like a very popular spot with the locals. I ordered the pesto chicken sandwich and it was delicious! Line was out the door and took 30 minutes to put in an order. I recommend getting the dutch crunch for bread! I'll be back for more sandwiches if I'm in Walnut creek! Parking in this location is pretty bad and it took awhile to find street parking. The tables outside rotate pretty quickly so don't hog a table if you don't have any food! People tend to eat quickly and leave so it wasn't too hard to find a table to eat after we got our sandwich.

Needed to pickup sandwiches for birthday celebration. I was unable to place our order online as their system did not offer all the selections I needed. The deli was not crowded so I was able to order quickly. It took about 20 minutes for my 4 sandwiches and salad. The ingredients were all fresh. The sandwiches were all tasty.

Have been wanting to try this spot for a while especially since it's reasonably priced compared to many other sandwich spots in the area. Came on a weekday at lunch and ordered online for pickup. Ordered the: - Number #18 pesto/chicken on a dutch crunch roll: my sister got this one without tomato or avocado and said it was dry, I think if it had all the toppings it wouldn't have been dry - Number #1 1/2 on a dutch crunch roll: rly enjoyed this one and added chips while eating it for more texture - Number #6 1/2 Prosciutto (w/ Tomato Mozzarella) on a ciabatta Roll: disappointing, was sooo soggy and had such little prosciutto that I thought it was a vegetarian sandwich Good sizes and appreciate they're not huge. Can be realistically eaten as a meal. Good prices but felt like they skimped out on meat.

Morucci's is one of my favorite sandwich spots in the area. I've ordered plenty of sandwiches from them in the past and even to this day, they still haven't let me down. I think it's always great when you just know you aren't gonna have a bad experience no matter what kind of sandwich you order from this place. I even kept real basic this time too. I ordered Oven Roasted Turkey on Wheat and even though I kept it so simple, there still was tons of flavors everywhere. Im such a sucker for a good sandwich spot. I love how the fixings are always fresh and they never mess up the ratio of spread. Their sandwiches just always have the perfect amount of spread. When I go to In and Out, I always ask for extra spread. There is never enough. Im not trying to have no boo boo dry burgers or sandwiches man. I want ALL the flava. I never have a problem with this Morucci's because their sandwiches are always constructed perfectly. If you have never have them and live in the area, nows the time. Get to it.

I'm not a sammmie person, but theirs is pretty good. I had a pastrami., which was pretty good!

Morucci's is still one of the best sandwich shops in the East Bay. If you like good food that is inexpensive, read on. I introduced my buddy George F. to this popular lunch spot on 02/28/2025. We met at 11am and luckily it wasn't too busy. A quick glance of the interior found no major changes since my last visit. Pricing remained very reasonable, with most offerings below $11. We ordered two sandwiches at the counter - a #1 Italian Sub and a #16 Tri-Tip Sandwich. With a couple drinks, the total was about $28. The staff we encountered were friendly and efficient. By the time I finished paying the cashier, the line was out the door. I had the #16 and it was good as usual. It had a decent amount of juicy and flavorful sliced tri-tip. With melted cheese and all the fixings on a garlic ciabatta, it really hit the spot. George seemed to like his sandwich as well. Morucci's is still one of my favorite sandwich spots in the East Bay. Here, you can get a delicious sandwich without breaking the bank. If you have never been here, I definitely recommend them to you. 5 stars.

Solid sandwiches with such a good balance of flavor. The Italian sandwich was my favorite - the balance of the meats with the mustard sauce on the crunchy bread was really good. The chicken pesto was also really good - a good amount of chicken with the creaminess of avocado. Each sandwich is around $11. Line can be long so would recommend ordering online

Ask the Community - Morucci's Deli

Did they get rid of taking phone orders???? I really hope not, that's the only way I order from here. Edit: I mean ordering for individual same day asap pickup? Seems like…

They did take away phone orders but they do online ordering instead now! Moruccis.com/order

Open on Sunday?

In early years it wasn't, but I've been there many sundays now. Website shows open 8am- 4pm.

Do they still accept fax orders? I haven't been in a while and haven't been able to find the fax number.

no Fax but Yes for TEXT...

Do you guys offer any hot chili oil or sauce for the sandwiches?

What size are their sandwiches ? Wondering if they are comparable to little luca in south sf ..12" standard size there

No sandwich other than little luca is that big. Quality better at moruccis imo

I work for a school in WC. We'd like to order food from this place to have it delivered on Friday, May 7th at 10:45am. There will be about 30 people who will order. I need to know when is the deadline to submit their order and also the menu?

I would call and let them know you have a big order and get their fax number or email. That's how we would normally order for work

Why does Morucci's charge additional 50 cents to takeout orders?

Extra packaging.... even though EVERYTHING is to go now

Does it offer gluten free bread?

Yes they have Gluten-free bread. 🙂 sandwiches are very tasty fresh

Does their phone not work? This is the second time I've tried calling for over 30 min and goes straight to "Verizon wireless...phone call could not be completed as called party is busy". I did not call during lunch hours so I don't quite understand.

They accept phone orders before 11am.

Can you kindly share me what kind of bread you can select from?

Sourdough, Dutch Crunch, Wheat, Ciabatta, Focaccia and Soft Rolls.

Are they open Christmas Eve?

No

Is there new hrs? We have tried multiple time to come get sandwiches and are closed by 5! Also try to call and no one answers before 5!

The posted hours are 7PM on the weekdays, but I work down the street and they have been locking their doors around 6:30 each night. I even try to call between 5:30-6 to place an order for pick up, and they do not pick up their phone. It's very… Read more

Fortunately, the food inside lives up to the '80's music. This place is a little Eastern-European treasure chest. The meat selection alone is worth the trip: excellent veal sausages, proper kabanosy (both American-made and the legit European imports), and enough smoked and cured options to make you reconsider every bland sandwich you've ever eaten. Then there's the sweets. Not just a few shelves: an impressively deep lineup of Eastern European treats, both loose and packaged. The kind where you walk in thinking you'll grab one thing and leave with three mysterious chocolates and something wrapped in gold foil. It's also my most reliable solution for a sudden Żywiec beer craving. And if that's not the mood, there's always a jar of pickled mushrooms waiting patiently. In short: a small, charming deli that punches way above its size... and yes, I still sing the Kate Bush song every single time I go.

This time, though, I wanted to try something different, so I went with the chicken and mushroom filling. It was also very tasty. One thing I really like is that they focus more on the filling, and the bread is not too thick. It always has that slightly greasy goodness in the best way. So yummy. As much as I enjoyed the food, my interaction with the woman working there this time was not great. When I arrived, she was unpacking a box. She saw me but did not greet me or ask if I was ready to order. I stood there awkwardly for a few minutes before she finally asked. It would have been nice to be acknowledged right away. I ordered two different fillings, and when she was packing them, I asked if she could please label them so I would know which one was which. She responded by saying, "I wasn't going to make you guess." I did not find that very friendly. In fact, I thought it was borderline rude. I still really enjoyed the food, but that interaction took away from the overall experience a little bit. I wish the customer service had been a bit warmer.
