I went in today to look at slab samples. The young lady in the front showed me where to go. I was looking in particular for Dekton, she said they don't have it. But then I started looking and I saw they had Consentino, so I stared looking and noticed the racks are labeled. I found it myself. As I looked through the racks, some of the slab samples were mixed up. There was one piece that looked like the sample of Dekton I was looking for. It only has a QR code on back. Which took me to a google drive picture with no info on it. So I took it downstairs to ask what company the slab is. That way I could see more info on it. The young lady in the front went to ask another girl working there. She very loudly and quite rudely replied we cannot give out our vendors/suppliers. I was a little taken aback. I explained to her that is not what I was asking for. The slab was mixed in with the Dekton rack and I wanted to know if it was Dekton or if it's Porcelain. The only reason I was asking so I could see the specs because I needed to know the material and available sizes which I would be able to find on the actual companies sites. Not the vendor who had no information on it! She was rude and very abrasive when I was trying to explain what I had asked. I honestly felt like she felt entitled to speak to me that way because of my skin color. I just walked out and they knew I was upset because I voiced that I felt that was a very rude way to answer someone. I need to get 5 slabs for an outdoor fire-pit area, they just lost the chance to make a big sale. I would not buy anything from here. There are better places with better service in the South Bay. I would not give them my business. Especially if they treat potential clients this way. You are a business. Customers ask questions. This is not the way to respond to someone inquiring about a product. read more

Best tile shop in the South Bay! I would HIGHLY recommend this business. They have designers like Kym, Cassy and Linette that will help you pick out the best tile for your home. I thought it was going to be more expensive than Home Depot and places like Floor and Decor BUT IT IS NOT!! Our tile installer said all of the tile was so much higher quality than the 2 places I just mentioned. If you go to BattaliaStile you get a designer to help you at no charge at all! They don't pressure you to buy anything. They have all price points, so don't worry if you're on a budget. My kitchen backsplash was under $10 a square foot and see pics below - it turned out amazing. My bathroom tile was more expensive, but they helped me off set the cost by doing less expensive slabs on the side walls - see pics of bathroom in progress. Cassy also helped me with my son's bathroom by making it simple and classic, which will be great as he gets older. Bob is also AMAZING! He greets everyone by name and will remember you when you call. So far so good. Huge selection and capable people helping you out who can also offer contracting references. Not necessarily less expensive to go to Floor and Decor unless they have something on special. Home Depot and Lowe's will be less and easier to return anything you overbought but their selections are minimal and who likes having the same thing that everyone at Home Depot is putting in. Delivery is quick and professional. Don't pinch pennies as the service here is worth paying a slosh more for. read more

It is a really small place with a large variety of tiles though it's a bit disheveled (especially upstairs) and customer service is spotty. The staff tend to gravitate towards certain "clientele" and it's pretty obvious. I gave them a low score because they had the audacity to sell me (at full price) USED TILES. I had purchased numerous boxes of the same tile from them before and needed 1 more box. When I picked up the box, it was clearly opened and then shrink wrapped. I couldn't even find the tile identification on the box. The salespersons (a guy and young lady) knew I was concerned about the tiles but they said it was the same kind and had me sign paperwork saying no returns etc. We had the tile guy coming at the house so I took the box . When I opened the box at home, each tile had been used. I immediately took it back and they reordered a new set. I made sure that the new box was intact. Shame on them for selling me a used box of tiles at full price. I want to support small businesses but shady practices like this make it difficult. Not one of the staff members apologized for what was done - it was just business as usual for them. Tilebar.com and other online stores (even Floor and Décor) have way better return policies and even free samples and surprising good selections. Also, a few months back, our contractor's kitchen designer ordered 90% more tiles than we needed (that's another Yelp review) and I wanted to return the brand-new boxes back to Battaglia- Stile and they wouldn't take it (made all sorts of excuses, it's up to the distributor ...) yet they sell me used tiles. The italian tile I bought is quite nice but I can find other resources for it online and if I need more, I will just do that. Do not recommend this place. read more

I needed tiles and flooring for my home. John and his crew had an amazing selection to choose from and his staff were so insightful. They really know what they are doing! Tile is put in and it looks gorgeous! Also, we needed flooring so John went out of his way to add a new line of luxury vinyl plank to his tile work so we had it put in our house and it looks stunning! I went to this store five times. Each time I was offered a welcome and asked if I needed help. Everyone was polite, and when they couldn't answer a question, they immediately got the answer from someone else. I ordered two kinds of tile from them and they offered to order another tile even though they don't carry the line-I was bemoaning the fact that a different tile store had closed. The store is to the south of Jack-in-the Box.The store is hard to find, so use the fast food as a marker. The driveway right past Jack-in-the-Box Is a U shape, so if you turn there, not seeing the store as we did not, you'll get there before you reach Lomita again. The store is on the street. It is two stories and has thousands of tiles; you won't be disappointed. read more

These guys are INCREDIBLE!! Seriously don't even waste time going to any other store looking for tile/ counters etc. My husband and I completely re-doing a fixer we purchased, and the process for materials selection for our tile floors, bathrooms, & kitchen was daunting to start with (we've never done this kind of renovation), but this team went above any beyond numerous times to help us finally get to make (and LOVE) the decisions we needed to for our new home :) I went to numerous other tile stores, and none could match the inventory options (design, materials, & price), experience/advice of the whole team, and the coordination/logistics of placing and tracking our orders. The entire staff was exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable throughout ever step of the process. It took me a couple visits to get feel great about my choices -- I needed to reflect and process all the awesome stuff I saw in their showroom as well. When you go there, a sales member helps you with your needs and they save a file on you so you can easily reference and updated for future visits. This whole process was overwhelming at first, but everyone I worked with both answered my questions and also offered suggestions to consider! By the time I left after my second trip, we had an awesome assortment/ mood board for the tile and kitchen counter in our home, and they let me take the samples to see them in the space and show our general contractor. Here are a few shoutouts to the team who helped me: - Allison was awesome at helping me get my bearings and focus in on what tile is important and how to final great alternatives for our budget/ price point - Kym was great at bringing inspiration and expert advice/confirmation of my choices and options/ brands to look at as well as pointing out style/ design nuances I wasn't considering (e.g., a straighter edge for our white subway tile to give it a slightly more modern/coastal look instead of another option with rougher edges that were coming off more rustic) - Caasi was so skilled at pulling options I'd never seen or considered before to complement a few initial design preferences/ tile choices - Bob offered exceptional customer service with handling all my orders. We actually recently ran a little short of tile for our bathrooms and he was able to get me the two boxes I needed form their distribution center THE SAME DAY. He even stayed a little after closing to make sure I could pick it up. We are about 80% done with our tiling and it looks SOOO great. We can't wait to see it all done!!!!! COVID procedures: everyone wears masks (they require customers to do so) and they require appointments for Saturdays. The showroom is clean and bright. I was replacing my hardwood floors and decided to take care of some other renovations at the same time. I called BMG and spoke to Jon Battaglia, who was really knowledgeable, and I felt comfortable moving forward with him. I decided to add tiled accent walls to 2 bathrooms, and replace my fireplace hearth with marble and tiles. My boring bathrooms and fireplace now pop with color, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Not only was the crew really nice, but they were really detailed and spent the time to make things perfect. For example, my walls were a bit uneven (which I guess is common). They spent an entire day to even out the walls perfectly. I added tiles to a bathroom floor and wanted it to be flush with my new hardwood (I hate those transition pieces). They accommodated, and did whatever they needed to do to avoid that horrid transition piece between hardwood and tile. The result was perfect. The tiles look great, and David (the project manager) was really nice and respectful, and made sure I was happy throughout the whole process. Thanks guys. Home remodeling can be such a long, drawn-out, and frustrating ordeal, right? It's often difficult to know where to begin. For me, I loved tile, so I started with that part of my project way before I needed it. I visited seven major tile stores in the South Bay. I got ideas, discovered what type of tiles, stone, and color pallets appealed to me, but most importantly, I got a feel for the expertise of each store's design staff. Unfortunately, when the time came to make a decision, I was overwhelmed, frustrated, and not particularly excited about any tile, any store, or any design consultant. I was almost ready to put my money down on a design that I was only lukewarm about, but then my cabinet and tile contractor suggested that I try a new tile store that was just opening in Lomita not too far from the Torrance Home Depot. I am so glad I took his suggestion! Battagliastile is a marvelous tile, stone and countertop store with a very talented designer-owner. It's elegant, spacious, and contemporary. Most of all, the collection is arranged in a manor that makes the customer feel calm and surrounded by beauty. In fact, I felt like I was browsing an art gallery more than a tile shop. The owner-designer, Kym Battaglia, was gracious and enthusiastic about my needs and ideas. She was a keen communicator and listened carefully to my needs and ideas. In short order, I felt like we were on the same design wavelength. She seemed to know intuitively the unique look I wanted to achieve. Within an hour, we'd picked out some tiles and a countertop and had a terrific draft design concept that exceeded my expectations in every way. More importantly, she helped me save a bundle with some of the title so I could splurge on other tiles and countertops. She kept me within budget, while helping me achieve a stunning design. The next day (working from my measurements and the builder's plans), she delivered an exquisite color computerized design rendering of the concept we'd discussed and emailed it to me. The drawing included prices and quantities. It was exactly what I wanted and the price was reasonable and within my budget. I couldn't have been more delighted. After I settled on my design, I asked Kym if she had a design portfolio of her work. She brought out a large binder of photographs and I was amazed at the quality and diversity of her work. She's done a lot of gorgeous high-end work incorporating tile and stone into just about every part of the home and garden. I was very impressed. But Kym's help didn't stop with the sale. Later, when I needed some advice about coordinating bathroom hardware, she took time out of her busy private life to consult with me via text. The people who work here are friendly and helpful. Bob was very helpful providing us with samples of tile for the kitchen. He was able to place a last minute order over the phone. The tile arrived the next day and Bob called first thing in the morning to let us know we could pick it up. When we picked it up he let us know if any pieces were broken to bring it back and he would replace them quickly. I also called later to match trim pieces to the tile and again he was quick to help over the phone. I have to say, Bob Varnell at Battliastile really made the process so much more bearable. He knew what look I was going for, understood I was on a budget, and as a result helped point out different tiles through out the shop that I should consider. Two of the tiles he picked are on my shower walls for my bathroom and my kids and I LOVE them.
