These guys had a good selection, good prices and delivered the tile when our contractor needed it.

Michael did an awesome job remodeling a tub/shower bathroom into a roll-in "age in place" shower bathroom for me.

In the course of removing the…read moregrout , he said that the underlayment was water damaged and he removed 5 treads of tile to explore and possibly replace the undergarment. It was water damaged, and the risers and the treads had to be replaced. However, he "doesn't do wood "so I had to engage someone else to replace the plywood on the risers and the treads, which I did. He returned and we went jointly to Dahl tile to have me buy some Triton water board and some red guard for waterproofing. He wanted me to use a Schluter metal edge guard as opposed to replicating the original 45° mitered edge where the riser tile and the tread tile come together in a grouted joint. That design change ( which is easier on the installer) would result in a metal half inch rim /strip running across the top of all the stairs risers . I have quite a bit of this tile inside and outside my house and it's all done in that tile edge to tile edge fashion without an intervening and visible metal strip He said he's unable to adjust his tile saw to that 45 degree angle and was not gonna be able to apply the tile in the original angled edge to angled edge configuration withOUT the Schluter edge. I asked him why he's telling me after he had removed the tile and a visit to the Dahl tile that he could not install the tile in the original configuration . He became annoyed and agitated and essentially walked off from the job site at 10am with the removed tile and 5 buckets of trash and a stack of unused triton board that I had paid for (that he did not fully install ) .,,,, just sitting there on my patio I never heard from him again. I never had anybody walk off a job site like that , especially after getting that deep into the job. Maybe he is good with grout repair ... Doubt I will ever know .

She came by to do an in-depth walk through, took appropriate measurements, and showed me all their options in different price points. Her and her husband are locals and started this company together. I love supporting local businesses. Speaking of locals, I also needed grout work which is outside the scope of their work, but Ashley was able to refer me to my new grout guy (shout out Mystic Dave!). Estimate is done through a software they're developing with another tech company, which is pretty new but unique? Payment was straight forward through a link (cheaper if you pay in cash / ACH). You pay 30% deposit and the rest afterwards. They are a bit pricer but reasonable for the quality of work done. They send out a team of 2 for my project. There were a couple disconnects in terms of the details communicated to the field team, like the amount of padding needed and the edges of my stairs that needed to be folded and stapled but it wasn't anything this team couldn't figure out. I am an opinionated client that expects quality, precision, and communication. All of which are points that Floor Coverings delivered. Thank you and I look forward to our next project together.

But then I started looking and I saw they had Consentino, so I stared looking and noticed the racks are labeled. I found it myself. As I looked through the racks, some of the slab samples were mixed up. There was one piece that looked like the sample of Dekton I was looking for. It only has a QR code on back. Which took me to a google drive picture with no info on it. So I took it downstairs to ask what company the slab is. That way I could see more info on it. The young lady in the front went to ask another girl working there. She very loudly and quite rudely replied we cannot give out our vendors/suppliers. I was a little taken aback. I explained to her that is not what I was asking for. The slab was mixed in with the Dekton rack and I wanted to know if it was Dekton or if it's Porcelain. The only reason I was asking so I could see the specs because I needed to know the material and available sizes which I would be able to find on the actual companies sites. Not the vendor who had no information on it! She was rude and very abrasive when I was trying to explain what I had asked. I honestly felt like she felt entitled to speak to me that way because of my skin color. I just walked out and they knew I was upset because I voiced that I felt that was a very rude way to answer someone. I need to get 5 slabs for an outdoor fire-pit area, they just lost the chance to make a big sale. I would not buy anything from here. There are better places with better service in the South Bay. I would not give them my business. Especially if they treat potential clients this way. You are a business. Customers ask questions. This is not the way to respond to someone inquiring about a product.
