Went to their website and typed in the information for the replacement battery I needed for my motorcycle. I went to the store and paid for a different battery that their website stated would matches. At the store, I asked if I could return the battery if it did not fit my motorcycle. I was assured I could. When I tried placing it on my bike, it definitely did not fit. I went back to the store and they said they did not have a battery in the size I needed, that their system had given me the "American equivalent" of what I have and that it is a different size. I said I wanted to return the battery, and the guy said they would have to call a manager to approve the return. Then he said, without calling a manager, that they wouldn't accept a return because they don't accept returns beyond two weeks after pickup (without even consulting a manager - & definitely a policy I wasn't notified of when asking about returns at the time I picked up the battery). I then pointed out it had been two weeks precisely, and he changed what he said to say that returns are not acceptable as soon as it hits the two-week mark. 1. This company's recommended battery did not match what I had searched for in their system. 2. They did not honor the promise of the ability to return the item if it did not fit. 3. The sales clerk made no attempt to reach a manager to assist in this matter. Get your battery elsewhere. read more

A lot of products are packed into these little stores. In this case I needed batteries for 2 watches. On line won't help because I don't have the tools to install the batteries. The person who helped me was obviously new. But 5 minutes later, the deed was accomplished. I have gotten car batteries and sump pump batteries from them in the past. Very nice looking shop and friendly service. I was looking for a medical battery and at first they found it, for $102. A week later they called me with issues. They were having trouble locating it. Another week later, when they called me again with issues, I stopped by with the battery and it seemed like they were going find it. They called again a few days later and said they can't find it, so they refunded me the money. I never did any internet research, but when I did it took 5 minutes, I found and ordered the batteries and it was only $82. They could have done the same, charged me the $102 and made a few bucks. Beware of this business as they cheat their customers! I placed an order for Duracell Ultra Gold Maintenance Free Car Battery (SLI35M) and when I received the "Your Order is Ready to be picked-up" email, I went to the store to pick up the battery. I was then given the Duracell Ultra Battery (SLI35) instead. The SLI35 is $20 cheaper than the SLI35M. I would have been less upset if I was not asked to go pick up my order since they do not have it in stock OR when I went there, I was informed that they do not have SLI35M but have SLI35. However, the employees in the store was being very sneaky about it. They gave me the SLI35 battery and said NOTHING about the swap. They did not even attempt to refund the difference. They tried to deceive me just because I was a female and they think I knew nothing about batteries? Once I realized what they did, I called them out on it and was told that both batteries are the same and the only difference is the warranty. I did further research when I got home and I know there are differences between the two. If they are the same, why would it be sold as different items? After almost an hour of this, they finally agreed to let me exchange the battery once the correct battery I ordered came in. This is such a disappointing experience! Also, I recently found that I was not given the 10% discount for placing an order online and picking up in store. I was already very disappointed with my experience with picking up the battery, The 10% discount shows on my receipt but the discount was $0.00. This is SOOOOO deceiving. Went there a few weeks ago to get a cell phone battery. An employee by the name of Jermel was helping me. He retrieved the battery but was unable to open the palstic; he lost patience and used a knife to slash a big X of the back of the battery to open it. When I ask for a replacement because the battery was slashed at the back he snapped at me and treated me rudely. read more

If the door was locked, and there weren't other people in the store, maybe I would think differently, but customer service used to make the customer the focus. THEY DO NOT INSTALL WATCH BATTERIES! Called ahead the Rockville, Maryland store to see if they installed watch batteries as advertised on their website where they mentioned "8 million watch batteries installed". Clerk said yes they install watch batteries. So I drive 15 miles to get to the store. Got to the store and handed my two Invicta divers watches. He glances at them and tells me I have to take them to a jeweler. Don't waste your time at this place if you need a watch battery installed. This place is a bit strange - I was expecting something bigger, but it definitely looks like they have a lot of batteries here, and when that's all you sell, I guess you can squeeze it all into a small space. Anyway, they had what I needed - a battery for my car. The guy I spoke to when I called was courteous and quickly looked to see whether they had it. When I arrived in the store, the clerk once again quickly found what I was there for, rang up the purchase and I was on my way in about 3 minutes. This is where I go to change batteries for any digital scales (bathroom or food). Batteries and LED flashlights are reasonable, but some of the other items are a bit pricey. Most of the time, they have been very helpful. I am glad that the hours are posted now. At one point, this seemed to be top secret information. Nowadays You do not get this kind of recommendations in any retail chain. The product line up is excellent. I was looking for a battery (for backup) for the home alarm system. They had it at a reasonable price when compared to the online retailers. I allowed myself to be upsold AA and AAA batteries as well since the associate pointed out the good value and shelf life warranty. Who knew there was a store that specializes in batteries on Rockville Pike? My Fios box started the dreaded beeping indicating the battery was dead. Verizon INSISTS that you buy the battery from them for about $80 for a machine that I don't even own (V owns it). Sounds fair right? Wrong! Anyway, somehow, I mentioned the issue to my neighbor who told me to check this place out and she got her replacement here. Called them up this morning and they were a bit curt on the phone but said they had what I needed. When I got over there, they couldn't have been better! In and out in about 5 minutes. I cracked the glass on my iPhone 5s and wanted to get it repaired quickly and conveniently. One of the reasons I chose Batteries Plus Bulbs was because they had decent reviews, it wasn't too far from my home and I could schedule an appointment online. I scheduled the appointment for 2:30 in the afternoon and received an email confirming the appointment right away. When I arrived at the store, I was told that the man who repairs the phones was not there and the salesperson started to tell me the man's schedule for when I could return. I explained that I had an appointment confirmed. He said that they do not confirm appointments. Really? Then what was that email I received confirming my appointment? The salesperson called the repair person to ask when he was coming back. 5:00! Seriously? I told him not to come back for me because I wouldn't be there. That's an hour + of my life I'll never get back and a customer that Batteries Plus Bulbs will never get back! read more

After yelping 'watch battery replacement', I went there yesterday to get a watch battery replaced, and I expected to overpay since it's a battery store with knowledgeable personnel and not the corner drugstore that happens to carry batteries.
