Saturday, we received an ad in the mail, for $10 off car key fob service. We had the two fobs that came with the car and a third one we had ordered online. We had ordered online with the fantasy that we could program the new one with the old one, and a sequence of button strokes... Yeah right, don't buy a "replacement" fob online for 20 bucks. It won't work no matter how hard you try. So Batteries Plus easily opened the remotes and found that two could be repaired. The third one had lost a piece of itself, so couldn't be salvaged. The problem with the old fob that we didn't toss, was at the little battery clip thingy had come loose. Its battery was also mostly dead. So, would you believe these guys can solder the loose piece back in place? Wow, this is getting serious. So, the "new" one that needed programming, they easily programmed. Then the guy (I wish I could remember his name) went out to the car with us to complete the programming, and test it, including the trunk opening and remote start. All this cost 60$ with the 10 off. Super reasonable. If that sounds like a lot, ask a car dealer what a fob would cost. I'm talking hundreds, so make sure you're sitting down when they give you their quote. It looks like this place also fixes phones and tablets. I had two other shops give up on my iPad. Maybe I'll take it there and see if their story is any different. I've had batteries replaced at fixit places but I have complete faith in these guys after witnessing their competence and professionalism. read more

Great place to get batteries for your car I also went there to get my my car remotes synchronize to my car they did a great job if you need a new remote for your car just buy it online and bring it to them you pay a small fee and they will synchronize it to your car for you I wish there was one closer to my house and didn't have to drive all the way to Thousand Oaks they say there will be one opening up soon and Reseda which will be closer to me that would be nice other than that I highly recommend this place for your battery needs read more

I'm thankful this place was open on a holiday. My gate opener has been beeping due to low battery, and there's no way to silence it. Ordering the 12V batteries online would take at least a week to get! Batteries Plus had them in stock, and less than a half-hour drive away for me from Canoga Park. What's nice is their website also made clear whether it had the F1 or F2 connector; some other online retailers don't specify that, and it makes a difference! If I ordered one and it came with the F2, I would be unable to connect it. The price was higher than online, but the convenience and same-day acquisition made it worthwhile. I like how you can call their local number and someone there answers, which makes them very neighborly in our modern age. The staff was really nice when we arrived, and we were in and out in minutes. And my gate opener is happy and quiet now! read more

Bought three motorcycle batteries here in the last 4 months alone. On one of them (the most expensive) I noticed the positive post had snapped. Took it back to see if I could exchange it since it didn't get any more use than any previous battery. Young dude tells me no way. No warranty on physical damage. OK I get that it could've been dropped or whatever(Wasn't) but his attitude was sh**ty. Couldn't care less, tough Sh*t. Too bad. Told him I bought a lot of batteries there. These guys are super knowledgeable. I ordered an amazon key for my mustang and they told me it would likely lock the cars system and they didn't want to mess up my car and still have to charge me. They then made me a key for cheaper than it would've costed for the amazon keys. Highly recommend them if you need a new key for your car. read more

Wow!!! We looked up info online and found the perfect battery for our older vehicle. It indicated it was in stock and that they offered free installation at the time of purchase. We drove here and were greeted by a very knowledgeable younger man who was happy to look up the battery we needed as well as the lightbulb for our third brake light. While we were discussing the battery, an older female came out and assisted a customer with a watch battery replacement. She made sure the watch was valued at less than $300 as she doesn't work on watches priced higher than this. Ok, I can accept that for liability reasons. As we were getting ready to pay for the bulb and car battery, we asked about the free installation and the older female snapped that they don't do that. When we mentioned it said they do, she said (quite curtly) that that is only if someone is there to do it. After waiting a minute or two, we finally asked when that might be, since it wasn't volunteered. Ends up the owner (Gary) may be the only one who can do this and he is there on a limited basis. We decided to wait until he would be in to return to purchase the battery since we would have had to return to bring back the old battery anyway. As we walked out, it just rubbed us the wrong way the way the older female spoke to both us and the younger employee. He took it admirably but she really needs to learn to treat both employees and customers with more professionalism. We definitely got the impression she was there for the profits but didn't want to do more than she absolutely had to. Because of her, this place lost our business. We will go elsewhere. read more

I was looking for a 7.2 volt replacement battery for an older Nikko radio controlled car for my grandson and called Batteries and Bulbs and left a message. Jeff called and said they could put a battery together for me for around thirty dollars. I went to the store and was helped by Curtis. He checked the battery I had and said it was only putting out 6 volts. He also checked my charger to make sure it was working. Jeff came over to check out my radio controlled car and said they would have a battery pack ready in about three days. Jeff called two days later and said the pack was ready. I went in to pick it up and after Jeff inserted the pack there was still no forward or reverse power. He did some troubleshooting without any luck. Staff here is always incredibly helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. There no such thing as a dumb question here. They carry many obscure varieties of bulbs and batteries, including vehicle batteries. Some of these can even be used as an auxiliary battery for hybrid vehicles including Prius and Camry Hybrids. Not sure if they carry actual hybrid batteries though. They even take used bulbs and batteries for recycling. If your looking for a specific battery or bulb, they likely will have it. read more

My car's key fob started to not work and the alarm went off and I couldn't start my car. I called AAA and they dispatched a locksmith. He got it to the point that I could use the key but still had no alarm but misdiagnosed the issue. Upon his advice, I went to the local Chevrolet dealer to replace a device in the door that handled the lock opening and closing. I spent close to $400.00 on this useless repair. I'm giving them 3 stars, to be fair, because the guys are nice and they appear to have any battery you may need. I want to give them 1 star because the prices are outrageous. I needed 3 small watch-size batteries that I purchased for $3.99/ea. With tax, $12.84 later, I'm walking out the door happy to have batteries. After getting home, I was curious what they would have cost had I ordered them on Amazon. $0.61/ea for 3 American made batteries or $0.41/ea for some Chinese made batteries. Or, for 100 pack, $0.0848/ea. Ok, who needs 100 pack, right? And when you need a battery, who has time to wait for delivery from Amazon? And what brick and mortar store can compete with Amazon? Just be forewarned that if you go to Batteries+ you'll get your battery but you'll be paying a very high premium for it. read more
