Dr. Jardine and the entire staff at Excel Dental are par excellence, providing honest, high-quality work and performance. I have been a patient for 2 years, and each time I visit, I am greeted with warmth and care, like family! Recently, the crown of my implant (placed by another dentist 10 years ago) became loose. Dr. Jardine and his medical assistants worked HARD, for hours.... for weeks, to save my implant. It was not an easy task. My implant is discontinued, it was hard to find the tool, hard to use the tool, and hard not use the tool. I knew it was risky for Dr. Jardine remove the crown because the screw between the crown and implant was stuck. I knew I could lose my implant, and I would cost $5,000 or more to replace. Dr. Jardine is transparent and trustworthy, and I expected the worse! He took his time (several hours), saved my implant, and replaced the crown. I am grateful. Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you! Worst dental practice ever! Treat you like you are just a number and seem disinterested. Dentist and assistant talk about personal life while doing your procedure as if you aren't even there. Got a filling that resulted in terrible jaw pain for two weeks (still have it) spreading down my throat... this was from 6 numbing shots because she (the female dentist) hit the jawbone instead of the gums while chatting with her co-worker. When numbing wore off, the entire side of my head and my ear were in extreme pain. Ear and head paid went away but jaw pain has progressively spread down my neck which now has a lump. When I called the after hours number tonight the dentist NEVER called to discuss the spreading pain/cause, just called in hydrocodone with no discussion. Did a NUMBER of xrays including a panoramic..told me my insurance would cover and they denied most of them. This is NOT a caring provider...look elsewhere. I feel like a piece of meat with really good insurance. read more

Dr. Burke and his team have been absolutely amazing from day one. I'm a 48 year old woman that needed full removal and implants. I had meet quite a few dentists but I knew Dr. Burke was different in the first 5 min. I knew I had found my place and I'm telling you that was the best decision! I was giving cell phone numbers in case I had any questions or concerns and got responses WAY after hours. They jumped thru hoops for me on more than one occasion. I was not at all happy with the treatment I received at Excel. The dentures I had fit were horrid. I could barely talk, let alone eat anything, and I was in constant pain. I would get one or two bites in and would have to go re-adhesive them and then wait for five minutes to let them set before I could eat another couple of bites and repeat the process. The soft fill they put in (I believe $300 out of pocket) came out within a couple days because of the poor fit. They were quite skeptical about that when I went back. They did do another one but that one came out within hours. I decided then to go get the one that was sold at the pharmacy, which actually worked quite well as a fill, but they still came out when eating. But at least the fill didn't come out at the same time. I finally gave up on them and went and got implants somewhere else because I figured at my age, it was a $2,000/year investment to better my health and happiness for the rest of my life. read more

I recommend them to everyone. First, the waiting area is welcoming and has a TV and a coffee machine. The ladies at the front desk acknowledge you when entering the office and remember the client's name. Making an appointments was easy they work with my schedulnd and my clients. The dentist we worked with was Dr. Detz. Dr. Detz was attentive to the patient and listened to their concerns. My daughter Lexi suffers from severe anxiety, and a fear of dentists as a whole. She had to have all 4 of her wisdom teeth removed last week. They were able to do sedation for her to ensure there would be no added stress for her. Her experience was great! Not only were they empathetic to her needs, they went out of their way to ensure she had all she needed post op. Even having one of the assistants Chela come to the office on a Saturday, so that my daughter had some extra medication she needed. Dr. Burke, Chela, and the whole team at Excel are very compassionate, knowledgeable and accommodating to their patients, their families, and their various needs. I was required to pick a provider with Dental Health Services, so selected Excel because it was the closest. I took my son in and had his cleaning done. AFTER this they informed me that they no longer accepted our insurance. The only way they would send the claim information to the insurance company was if I paid the bill, which I did reluctantly, fearing that I would be left without recourse. It appears they never bothered to submit information, and I have been dealing with the insurance company for 7 months trying to clear this up. Dishonesty is not good business. read more

UPDATE: So I had many dentists look at my teeth that they had messed up on and they had said that they had drilled so deep into my tooth that the filling was irritating the nerve. And also they left a gap inside my tooth so infection could build up. I had to get a root canal to fix their mistake. THANKS EXCEL! read more

My family and I have been a part of Excel dental for about 5 years. It is sure a great feeling to know the staff by name. In my most recent appointment, the dentist remembered every detail of my treatment. Even if she took notes and was going off of those (which I do not think was the case) this recall of my needs for novocaine, and how I react to it is notable! She even asked me how my language studying was going, after I had talked about it at our last appointment. Highlights of my first visit with Excel Dental in Battle Ground: - In the office for over 1 hour with just a few ex-rays taken - The floor looked dirty - Some of the staff seemed ticked off and not friendly at all - Even though I was there over an hour they said due to scheduling conflicts I couldn't get my teeth cleaned, then later told me I might be able to - The dental assistant was in my room yelling down the hall at the hygienist because apparently the hygienist couldn't find which room I was in I couldn't wait to get out of that place. I sat in the room and waited and waited and waited. My time is very valuable and I got the distinct impression that this dentist office did not care that they made their patients wait an extremely long time because of their inability to schedule effectively. What's worse -- even after an hour the dental assistant told me the dentist should be in shortly. I asked how long and she said she is still putting a filling in for another patient. So, I said I can schedule my visit with the dentist when I come back for my cleaning that was canceled. She told me to wait a minute and she would check on the timing. Then, she never came back until the dentist was done only to tell me that I needed yet another 2 more ex-rays, only to wait for those to be taken/developed before the dentist could see me. I will not go back. Just to put it in perspective -- if I was offered several years of free service and free whitening I would still not go back. I cannot imagine they run their business this way. Sadly, my experience left me in such a bad mood during my next couple of appointments (my financial advisor's office) I vented and they too were shocked about my experience. Word of mouth goes a long way and I hope they tell all of their local clients to not waste their time at Excel Dental. Unfortunately, now I have to call my health care provider to find another approved dentist, get Excel Dentist to forward my x-rays over, and schedule yet another visit for a cleaning. So, a visit that should have been only maybe an hour at the most is now going to take me several hours of my time (rescheduling, calling to verify benefits, etc.). I have never left a review of any kind before but felt it necessary to now! This is by far the worst experience I have ever had at a dentist! I recently had my second extraction done at this buisness and I should have took heed to the first warnings. After my first extraction I had tooth fragments coming out for a month . I am a very understanding person and had assumed the tooth was broken too badly to realistically get every piece. I went back :( ... I went to my appointment and waited 45 minutes to be seen. After I was finally taken back the dental assistant informs me that my chart says I came in for an extraction but she doesn't believe that to be the case. I tell her it most certainly is the case. The dentist comes in shortly after and tells me I need a new filling in a totally different area because the one they gave me months prior had fallen out. He began to walk out when the assitant reminded him of the extraction. He then examines the large hole that is infected in my tooth and adds the extraction to the list. An hour and a half later I am finished being numb and the extraction goes as expected. . . until I get home. I look in the mirror and half of my tooth is still there!!! I had oral surgery here a few months ago, the dentist was great, however they didn't get the whole tooth out and now I have a bone splinter protruding out of my gum. The pain is extreme. I called to make another appt. I spoke with a woman named tatiana and she was really rude, and hung up on me. This is not how you treat a paying customer. She needs to be re trained on phone etiquette. read more

Scarred for life... Excell dental office staff is amazing but the dentists are a joke. First off they had me waiting 45 minutes past my scheduled time due to lunch breaks, I get everyone has to eat but isn't that why we make appointments? The female dentist rushed through filling my cavities and was terribly rude to the assistants helping. She was literally yelling at this poor girl and gave me a panick attack in the process. Then she numbed the wrong part of my mouth so I had multiple shots for no reason. My filings were garbage, once done she attempted to floss my teeth to remove the excess filing and just about ripped my tooth out with the floss THEN the sand paper type material. I told her "please don't give me a gap", because that's what it felt like, she laughed and said "I know what I'm doing" which was strange because I've never been through such torture...I still can't floss without getting it stuck and need to find another dentist to fix what they couldn't do correctly. After everything I assured the assistant she was nothing short of amazing and that I envied her patience, I left and will never return. I'm writing this in hopes I can save even one person the horror that is Excell Dental Battle Ground. I have never written a review for anything but strongly feel my experience needs to be known. read more

I am 27 weeks pregnant and they double checked everything with my midwife to make sure Me and the baby were safe, lots of options for the issues I had, quick and polite. I am floored. I just took my daughter to Excel Dental for a filling and couldn't believe how they behaved!! Last week at her initial checkup, they said she had several cavities so we made an appointment to get some filled today. After she came out of the dental chair, the receptionist asked when I would like to schedule her next appointment which led me to ask how many filings were done today. I also asked for a printout of the work done today. They told me they don't provide those and asked why do I want one? They didn't know what was done today or what would be done in the next appointment and seemed confused that I even ask. After politely asking about 5 different ways and having my requests denied repeatedly, I finally just said, " I would like to leave here today knowing what work was done and what work there is left to do!" At that point, the receptionist got up and asked. I have never been to a dentist office before that refused to give me paperwork (a receipt) showing what work was done, let alone not willing to tell me. read more

Unfriendly staff. I was there early, yet you were 20 minutes late even getting me started. Office staff discussed my personal information loudly, everyone in waiting area could hear. Hygienist was rough, and it felt pushy. She went over my measurements and discussed "options" of cleaning. Then dr. came in and quickly looked in my mouth. She began talking about cleaning "options" yet they are not "options!" As a patient you can not get a cleaning with out agreeing to another type of cleaning that is an out of pocket expense at approx 230$! Dr and staff becane very dismissive when I said no to out of pocket expense. Informed they won't do cleaning unless you do the out of pocket cleaning at the same time. NEVER in my life have I not gotten my teeth cleaned during an office visit set up for a yr check up and cleaning. Sounds like you are all about the money and not your patients oral health! Like the other review if no star was an option they would of gotten none. Left that office twice now in tears! One "Ana" the front desk lady she refuses to do her job I asked her to check to see if my private insurance would cover all to any iv sedation and it took her weeks to lie (or she's just that dumb) to me and say that it was not covered at all! Which once I got fed up with the attitude I went to another dentist all together to find out yes it was 60% covered ask within a week period. Also got told that I was to pay them almost $300.00 (mind you I had 2 insurance coverages) for some extravagant x-ray machine! (Can someone please explain why that much money when they had 2 insurance companies to file claims with). The next time I went they extracted on an emergency situation and sat in the chair as one of the dentist broke apart and removed in pieces my tooth (MIND YOU HE STATED AT THE BEGINNING THIS TOOTH WILL BE DIFFICULT TO REMOVE) the assistant missed one of the falling lose pieces of teeth and it ended up in my throat. As I gag and almost lose the contents of my stomach I was told "go to the bathroom and throw that up" (huh odd thing though open wound and throw up not pleasant). Tooth half out he finished and I quote "this recovery will not be an easy one you will hate these next few days" with that being said I assumed pain medication would probably be a friend of mine. Apparently I was wrong I was prescribed 10 pain pills 1 every 6 hours which late that night I had to call and ask what else I could take cuz the pain was out of control the on call said to take 2 at a time then call the next day. So I did I called and said just that to the "Ana" front desk lady and I got ok well all I can do is give 10 more. Ok so got the prescription took it to the pharmacy to find out whoever wrote it for the following day. At this point I have 2.5 pills for another 20 hours for what was supposed to be an awfully painful recovery the so called professional words not mine.
