Office Experience : Had appointment with doctor @ Woodstock location for needing JUST ONLY tooth extraction due to it coming through my gums and rotting. Doctor signed off for appointment next day at this battleground location he said it was bad and needed to come out IMMEDIATELY. I drive there the next morning still in pain. I get in the office first thing I say is can I sign in for my appointment lady says I need to sign this paper as I start to sign the papers and SIMPLY ASK HOW MUCH WILL I NEED THAT WAY I CAN PAY IN FULL NO PAYMENTS DUE TO NO INSURANCE. I HAD THE MONEY! I was ready to pay JUST NEEDED TO KNOW EXACT AMOUNT. The lady sitting directly behind the one that was actually helping me decided to INTERRUPT in and say she can't give me the price until the procedure was done at that point I felt like she was using her power and shut me down immediately. I HAD MY DAUGHTER WITH ME DROVE 37 min over there. HAD MONEY IN HAND JUST WANTED TO KNOW PRICE BEFORE I HAVE TO SIGN PAPERS. I simply say since you don't tell me price I don't want your guys help. Why would I sign something you won't tell me the price on? It's one tooth for crying out loud. They let me walk out knowing I needed that tooth pulled and I was in pain and CLEARLY IRRITATED FROM IT FACE SWOLLEN AND ALL. I had to look at my lil one get turned away EVEN THOUGH I HAD THE Money. My appointment was at 3:30. I arrived at 3:25. I was taken into the exam room at 3:45. At 4:15. I had had enough waiting. No one ever came in to do an exam or a cleaning. I doubt if a client showed up 45 minutes late you would still honor his appointment. read more

Everybody was great. Did X-rays and the dental assistant was friendly. The care was good with very little pain.

They frequently cancel appointments on the day of the appointment. The dentists are mostly well practiced and even talented, but the function of their business model puts profits before what is best for the patient. Finally, when my partner recently broke a bridge, it took over a month to replace. I feel that when two front teeth are missing , they'd show a degree of empathy and expedite the replacement. This is why I consider Gentle dental to be the 'fast food' of dentistry. With all of this being posted, I'd be irresponsible not to part ways, so we will. read more

Once again the past is the past and we all need to move on from years and years of neglect to our teeth and expecting the Doctor to preform a minor miracle to extricate the buildup of plaque and harmful bacteria that thrive in the mouth. Book months out and don't realize until the week before the appointment that it was for a day they were closed. Rebooked another few month out. Cancelled that appointment the day of because the hygienist had a slow day and did not want to hang around for my appointment. Changed dentists and asked for records to be sent over. Only sent some. The rest were filed under wrong birthday. Then forwarded illegible ones. So now I get to pay out of pocket for covered X-rays that they can't produce so my new dentist can start. Initially, I had an ok experience with this dentist office. Then I was encouraged to deal with a molar that had a crack in the tooth. It was not causing me any pain but the dentist seemed to think that it was important that I take care of it. I asked multiple times if the procedure was covered by my insurance and was assured that it was. After the dental work I paid the estimated out of pocket amount. I was satisfied with the dental work and still am. A month later I get a bill for the amount the insurance company was supposed to pay. Over the last year I have waited while the dentist office appealed the insurance decision. Today I was informed that I would shortly be taken to collections if I did not pay. So, on 5/18/23 I paid the final balance. It is my recommendation that you steer clear of this Dental office. Especially if you can't afford to take a $400.00 + hit. read more

I'm not sure why this dental office has some bad reviews. Perhaps it was bad management in the past. I've been very pleased each time I've needed to come in for dental work. I had to get two crowns at once and everything was explained to me and the procedure went smoothly. My crowns fit better than any others I've gotten elsewhere. The staff are friendly and professional, very impressed with the general customer service. Process flow seems to have a lot of opportunity for improvement. I arrived for my cleaning appointment, waited a reasonable amount of time before being seen for x-rays, but then was sent back to the waiting room for over a half hour before being taken back again for my cleaning. I think they've tried to structure the staff and process in the aim of maximizing their own productivity and seeing as many clients as possible in a day. In that pursuit they've lost site of client convenience and an appointment that would have taken under and hour at my previous provider took over two here - which I had not scheduled or planned for. Your appointment with the dentist and hygienist don't seem to be aligned at all in their structure. These are nice people, but I will be looking for another provider in this area. read more

Gentle Dental in Battle Ground has some good dentists, but unfortunately, they make too many mistakes with billing and have a very apathetic attitude about correcting their mistakes. They incorrectly submitted a billing claim to my primary insurance company and getting them to fix their mistake has been nearly impossible. I have made multiple phone calls to them and to my insurance company. My insurance company is very responsive to my concerns and their representative has twice called BG Gentle Dental and talked to them while I waited on hold. It is the people at Gentle Dental that seem incapable of getting it right. I had a cleaning done November 2023 and it is now February 24, 2024 and they keep sending me a bill that has not been processed through my insurance. I plan to file a complaint with the BBB if no results in the next week or two. When I went to the BBB website, I noted multiple billing complaints about Gentle Dental. If you are looking for a dentist, save yourself a lot of grief and find one other than Gentle Dental. read more

I want to start by saying that this review is not specific to this Gentle Dental, it just happens to be where I got my wisdom teeth removed. The oral surgeon who did my work travels from location to location. The service itself was actually very good; I was quickly put to sleep with general anesthesia and they prescribed me medication and gave me a syringe which made my recovery process quick and as pain minimal as possible. The reason for my rating is due to the experience I had with my insurance coverage through Gentle Dental. I scheduled a consult-treatment, in which they consulted my situation and procedure and removed my teeth shortly after. At the time I was told I needed to pay almost $1900 out of pocket. About 2 months later, I finally took the time to go over my insurance breakdown of the procedure (my teeth were removed November 9th, the breakdown came through on November 25th). None of the numbers added up so I called my insurance provider, for them to confirm with me that the amount I paid out of pocket didn't seem to add up, and that the way they had billed my anesthesia didn't allow for the maximum coverage on my plan. They advised me to call Gentle Dental. I then called Gentle Dental and they confirmed they had incorrectly calculated my coverage and I had overpaid almost $900 and I had a credit for this amount. Following this discovery, it still took a few follow ups for me to finally get my refund, almost 2 and a half weeks. I understand that mistakes happen, but I would HIGHLY encourage people to double check their breakdowns. Given that it almost two months after my procedure before I caught this, I can't help but wonder if Gentle Dental would have ever issued me my credit without my inquiry. read more

I spent a lot of money at Gentle Dental, Battle Ground, WA and then they improperly billed my insurance company and the claim was denied. I made several calls to Gentle Dental and explained that they had incorrectly coded the insurance claim and if they resubmitted the claim with the proper coding the insurance company would pay the claim. I even arranged a conference call with my insurance company and Gentle Dental and an agent from my insurance company explained how to properly submit the claim. The representative from Gentle Dental stated that they would resubmit the claim but never did. I called back and the person I originally spoke to denied having spoken to me or been on the conference call. I asked to speak to the Office Manager and I was told she was in a meeting. I asked that she call me to discuss this and she never returned my call. I was stuck paying the bill that should have been paid by my insurance company. read more

Sittin here waiting for the dentist to come back to my room, I realize that I've lost count of the number of implants that have broken out of my mouth. I had 4 new teeth put into my mouth by gentle dental. From what I'm told, the dentist who put them into my mouth. , used a brand of tooth that is known to brake. My new dentist told me that is was likely that every single tooth would eventually brake and fall out. One by one each tooth and broken and either fallen out or had to be dug out of my root. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars to this place is because my new dentist has done as best as he can to take care of me and fix these teeth. I should have read the other reviews before trying this dental practice. My regular dentist retired and I was looking for new dentist. Saw the discount offer by Gentle Dental and thought I would try them as they are close to my home. Went in had full mouth x-ray and dental exam by dentist. Was told everything looked ok but should have cleaning done. The dentist took all the measurements of my gums and read them out to assistant. I scheduled the cleaning as direct by dentist and was given a quote of $236. dollars. I arrived for my appointment this am and the dental hygienist starts tell me she had to redo my gum exam as didn't match what she saw in the x-rays. Took same measurements over again (they were taken by dentist 3 days before) and proceeds to tell me I have periodontal disease and would need different treatment than dentist ordered. Just so happens this new treatment would cost $800 now. Which leads me to my complaint, who is in charge of diagnosis (dentist or hygienist), either the dentist is incompetent or it is what I call bait and switch by the practice. In either case this is not the new dental practice for me. What appears to be a typical chain store dental practice. Staff doesn't seem to listen, for example estimate for new cleaning was for 4 quadrants of mouth at $200 per quad. One of my quadrants doesn't have any teeth so estimate was $200 for doing nothing. We've been very happy with everyone at BG Gentle Dental. I've been in several times and always had a good experience. Been a customer for many years but that is going to change. While they will be happy to charge you more than your insurance will cover and leave your account with a credit balance, they will neglect to tell you they are knowingly scheduling you at a frequency that will not likely be covered by insurance until you come in for your appointment. I need that information up front before the appointment is agreed to and scheduled. I want a dental health provider that is working for me to get the best dental health and is sensitive to my cost for same. Sadly, I to am not very happy with Gentle Dental. We have been going for a couple years now and have never had he same dentist twice in a row. They seem to go through dentist every 6 months along with hygentists as well. On the other hand, the front office is usually very polite and customer service isn't bad. Had a very bad experience with the billing department regarding a small balance. My mother had passed away and making her final arrangements was my priority. Had to be out of town for some time and upon my return I receive a very rude call from the main office about my bill. These people here have been so wonderful to me! I was a walk-in, someone with no dental insurance who had knocked out a front tooth. They have helped me with so much from saving me a ton of money to getting me in for a appointment the day before Christmas Eve. They gave me $100 coupon that allowed me to see the dentist and get my first check for free. The option I am going with to fix not one but 2 of my front teeth is going to save me $100's of dollars. I am a senior on Regence Advanced Coverage which pays for 2 dental cleanings a year. I was scheduled for a dental cleaning 2 weeks ago. After I was in the chair 1 and one half ours I was told if I did not submit to an iodine treatment in the pockets of two of my teeth, they WOULD NOT CLEAN MY TEETH AS SCHEDULED. This is very poor choice of dental offices. My wife has taken our four kids to this office and racked up multiple negative customer experiences, especially with the office staff. We're told you couldn't switch dentists within their own office because one might not be willing to follow the other's treatment??? The dentists themselves were pretty good, however you actually spend more time with their rude staff. When she tried to switch offices they gave us unusable miserable copies of our X-rays. When we asked them to email copies, she was told it would be 2-3 days before they could get to it. Gimme a break- go there at your own risk. read more

I love gentle dental! My hygienist is careful but thorough and doesn't chew me out for not flossing every day. Also the flexible schedule makes it easier to find babysitters so I can get my teeth cleaned. My teenage sons can go after work as they are open until 8 pm and Saturday also. read more
