    Nachos

I search this up after kids museum and found this hidden gem on a Sunday afternoon, we ended up order some nachos, kids Mac cheese and some wings, service was good, food came out promptly, nachos was good on point chips were nice and crunchy and not soggy the sauce compliments the chips, wings with fogo sauce fries were so good better than wings stop was really good Mac cheese was good also, definitely will be back for other foods, parking is nice and open plenty.

The Game Changer burger was ON POINT!

If you haven't been here since the new owners took over just know the vibe just isn't the same, normally that's okay because change is good, but I didn't care for the atmosphere, service seemed very blah, not that they were rude but almost like they didn't have enough customers around to care.... No dessert was available They didn't know we had a RSVP Food overall was DELICIOUS! Try the Blackberry burger!

Lunch today at Bauer's By Saxon was really good. Great vibe, friendly service and good food. The fried zucchini was excellent. I had the mango shrimp salad and it was delicious. My husband had the fireman burger with fries. The burger was very juicy and very messy. He did not like the fries because they were not very crispy and had a sugary spice on them that tasted sweet. I would definitely go back and try something different.

Was pleasantly surprised by this unassuming burger joint! Started our meal off with the Brussel sprouts. So crispy and lemony! My only complaint is that I wish there was more, as the portion was on the smaller side. My friend got the octavian and liked it. It was a spicy pork, linguica, mushroom, onion, and cheese sandwich. It was one of the featured items on Diner, Drive-ins, and Dives. I ordered the brie bg. I've never had a burger with these kind of flavors! It was topped with a creamy brie cheese and sweet blackberry jam. It was a solid choice, but next time I'd like to explore their menu and try something else. The fries were so yummy! They were covered in this addicting sweet and salty seasoning. The ranch and ketchup were homemade and the perfect complement to my burger and fries. I will be back to Bauer's for elevated bar food!

    Pastrami fries, wrecked into.

The food was so good, we didn't get a picture before we dug in. The pastrami fries: all ingredients tasted fresh with the combo of the sweet fry seasoning on an already yummy dish. The Brie burger was unique and sweet + savory dish. The cocktail from the bar was not too overwhelming with gin, but you felt it was there mixed into the sweet mixers + fruit. Karely was a helpful and pleasant host!

I started out with their house made soda - a sparking strawberry drink that was extremely refreshing. We were there early and had the pleasure of sitting at the counter and talking to Tye - the owner/chef and Shauna the wait staff. Dishes are to share. Tye explained that he serves the dishes in particular order to deliver balance with intensely flavored dishes alternating with milder bites. We started with a simple plate of Marcona almonds, Castelvetrano olives and Manchego cheese. We then enjoyed the cabbage with peanut sauce dish - which may sound unusual but was absolutely delightful. We practically licked the plate - in fact asked for a spoon to capture all of the sauce. Next came whipped feta and ricotta cheese served with thinly sliced stone fruit some chili crisp and honey sprinkled with red walnuts and olive oil. This is served with bread slices. It's hard to describe how delicious and flavorful this dish was with such simple ingredients. We were going to order the steak and chimichurri but were talked into the lamb pops - and we are so glad to have tasted these marvelous lamb chops. They were cooked perfectly. In fact they were so good - we went ahead and ordered the steak too - which was extremely flavorful on its own but served with a fresh house made chimichurri. We also ordered the patatas bravas which were perfectly seasoned and cooked - almost crispy on the outside but creamy on the inside with just a perfect level of heat. We finished the meal with the cinnamon rolls - don't know how they cooked these to perfection so quickly but they were fantastic. Bottom line - how have we not been here before! Most important - we will be back!! Thank you Bauhaus for a great meal and dining experience.

Staff was super friendly, went out of their way to make sure the tables were tidy, and refilled drinks really quick. The restaurant is smaller than you expect it to be, but it is cozy, friendly, and not overly loud. We only had a 10 minute wait when we arrived and they were packed. Our waiter Kyle was on point, introduced himself and dropped the special of the day with gusto. If I hadn't already had a ton of carbs for the day I would have gone with it. Ended up ordering the scallops, and fried zucchini appetizers. Scallops are served almost like a soup. The sauce in the bowl was to die for. I'm thinking white wine, and lemon were the major components. It was phenomenal. Fried zucchini was super tasty and is coming home with us. I'd swear it was enough to feed 4 people. For mains, we ordered pot roast and fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. Wife loved the pasta and chicken. Surprisingly enough she ate it all, none to go which is super rare for her. Pot roast was fantastic. Mashed potatoes were on point, the mixed vegetables were amazing. Then unbelievably my husbands hamburger was very rare, not understood since he ordered it well. No tip after all plates over half full. We have dined there many times over the years. But the problem used to always be twice the wait we were told, every time ( that was our families joke about the place. It was dead this time, the food explained that. We are frequent eat out family, but just mid it was not. We got a discount. But $103.00 later and annoyed and still hungry, it was not worth. Never again! On there behalf, my daughter liked her desert. Good luck at lasting very much longer, with that swill. Where was a manager or host of any kind. Located in the heart of downtown Modesto (and conveniently located across the street from the Gallo Center) at the corner of 11th & I St's, this place is a British-inspired pub complete with 16 (rotating) beers on tap complete with a wide variety of comfort classics. This includes appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and burgers. Must of the food is your standard American fare but they do have a small variety of British food (fish 'n' chips, cottage pie, etc,). During our visit which was the evening of Saturday 8/22/2026 at around 6:30pm, we parked directly in front of the pub. Best of all, street parking was free which makes these smaller cities convenient when venturing out to new and exciting businesses. Once inside, the vibe was lively as I was quite impressed with the overall layout. Best of all, this pub has two floors; very ideal when it is packed during weekend nights. The main floor has the general bar area complete with barstools and tables while the 2nd floor has cozy booths. I ordered an "805" while my lady went with a "Corona". Both beers were chilled to perfection while our bartender took care of us as soon as we stepped up to the bar. I will say that it was loud as the jukebox was playing an assortment of 80's music; my kind of vibe. However, we decided to sit upstairs as we enjoyed people-watching everyone having a good time from above. Keep in mind that they don't open until 5pm but do stay open until close to 2am on Friday/Saturday nights; or at least until last call is announced. All in all, "The Fox Pub" ain't fancy by no means; but that only adds to the charm of this dive bar in the heart of Modesto. My rating, an above average four stars.

I came by with a few friends on a Saturday evening and was surprised that it was not as busy as I have seen it before. When I have walked by before, I noticed it was extremely busy, with a line to get in and many people hanging out on the patio. This night, it was nearly empty when we arrived. We were able to walk right up to the bar and quickly receive our drinks with no wait at all. Everyone in my group ordered a green tea shot. I was a little disappointed that we received the drinks in a tiny plastic cup. I understand that they're shots and meant to be drunk quickly, but I'd much prefer to be served an actual glass. The drink itself was good. I appreciate the quick service. I also appreciate how they had a large self-serve water station accessible next to the bar. The interior of the Fox Pub is quite cave-like. It is super dark and pretty quiet. It is definitely a chill atmosphere though. I liked that there were a number of options of where you could hang out there. You could hang out on the outside patio, by the bar, and upstairs. Upstairs there were many booths where you could have a chat and chill night. There is a balcony that overlooks the bar which makes for great people watching. I definitely want to explore this spot more in-depth on a busier night!
