It has been sometime since we've been there but ordered our usual "Scarface" hero. The sandwich had little meat and cheese to it. I had a pastrami sandwich on rye for a quick lunch and unfortunately, it was a tad bit too small with only about 75% of meat quantity than I was used to. However, the pastrami was pretty tasty without being too fatty or overly salty. The sandwich also lacked any coleslaw which I was disappointed by, but with some dressing it also wasn't too dry. Been working in the area a while now and finally got to try this place today. I was pleasantly surprised. At cursory glance it looks like any other sandwich shop I guess, but they turn out some really tastey food. I tried what they call the Alex's turkey special or something, and besides being aptly named it was quite delicious for this alexs' tastebuds. Roasted turkey with pepperjack cheese and roasted peppers, and I switched out the bacon for some avacado, ranch over everything. Really delicious sandwich, pressed gently with perfect crisp but not too much. With some kettle chips and a green tea it was one of the tastiest lunches I've had in the past few weeks. Look forward to trying some different sandwiches and maybe panini's, now that I know their basics are good I'm certain all their sandwiches are just as delicious. P.s. The food is really good, but that is where it ends. The service and overall ordering experience is the worst. I work in the area and have been ordering from this deli for years and have had to deal with long waits, bad customer service, unapologetic poor service. Inspite of all of this, my co-workers and myself continue to order from this deli, which speaks to the quality of the food. Today, however, was the last time I will be ordering from here and I discourage others from doing so. I placed an order online through THEIR website and up on arriving at the deli I learned that they are closed today, despite THEIR website allowing you to place orders and their hours being listed on google for Sunday as open from 10am 3pm. For starts I grabbed the amazon local deal, making this visit more than worth my time, and it was a good 20 min drive from my house..all for a wrap? Satisfying and worth it, the chicken here is the best I have ever had at a deli, its different..in a very good way. Owner is a sweet hard working woman and has plenty of business and loyal customers coming through. Plenty of drinks and chips to choose from as well as home made baked goods.. I am soo glad we found this place! The best place to grab a bite in the Bi-State Plaza. For the past 4 years, we had been plagued with the same mediocre lunch places in the area. But finally a place that actually gets things right. I have now had lunch from Baviello's about 5 times and can now confidently say that this is the best deli in a 5 mile radius. There is something to be said about the artistry of sandwich making. They use really good bread. The ingredients are fresh and unique. They layer the ingredients just perfectly, using just the right amounts and order to effect the taste the right way. The finished product is so perfect, not having that "overly stuffed" appearance. Each bite is perfection. My favorites so far are the Godfather (mortadella italian sub) and the Rocky (horseradish mustard roast beef sub). I've also had the Chef Salad here which is also very good. More than half is cold cuts, which I appreciated and the greens were fresh and not wilted like most other places in the Bi State Plaza. So many other deli's and sandwich shops don't pay attention enough when they construct sandwiches. It's more than just slicing cold cuts and dumping them on top of bread. You need to have balance and an idea of how each component tastes. Too much focus on quantity and not on quality. Tip: They make alot of orders at lunch time so be sure to call ahead of time. This will save you a bit of aggravation. The pricing is fair to a little above average. But for the quality you can't go wrong. It is definitely cheaper than Mimi's Plate, which is a great little shop that makes awesome gourmet sandwiches. read more

This is the best deli I have ever been to. They have a wide variety of sandwiches to choose from (the Scarface and the Bronx tale are my two favorites). They use only Boar's Head deli meats which is a huge plus since you know you are getting quality meats. The staff is friendly and the owner Carol is engaging and is always looking for ways to please her customers. I go here at least once a week to grab a sandwich on my lunch break and have never once been disappointed. But here is a heads up, if you plan on visiting between the hours of 12pm and 2pm you better call your order ahead because the place gets packed with patrons on their lunch breaks. I walked in to a few people waiting who were already helped and the girl took my order. The lunch rush came in and people were greeted by name and there orders were taken. Impressed that they have regulars, so I should be having a good lunch. Well I waited...waited a little more....waited some more as the people who were greeted now paid and left with their lunches. Literally 15 mins later and many people who have come and gone, my Italian combo is finally done. Back to the office to eat and when I opened my $9 sandwich and it maybe had a single slice of each meat and more lettuce then a rabbit needs, to say disappointed is an understatement. The menu of sandwiches is nearly overwhelming because they all sound delicious. This is a busy place so you might have a short wait.
