The lunchtime buffet is not the most inviting , the food is ok but not great , the restaurant is a comfortable enough place, staff are friendly, but there is just something lacking with the food for me, there are better alternatives out there. I do have friends that really like the place however, so give it a try and decide for yourself. read more

Wish I could give negative stars. We were there today for lunch buffet and the food tasted horrible. No Veg options and they charge 11 bucks for small kids too who hardly eat anything. We had sunday lunch buffet and we promise this is our worst experience. I stayed in USA for around for around 8 years and I went to many Indian restaurants. In Tampa I stayed for 3 years and been to all Indian restaurants in that area but never experienced such an awful place. Very bland food and very few items in the buffet and I don't even see biryani. The rice is not cooked properly and curries are awful. The waiter is very arrogant when we provided our feedback. He is the only one person working in the restaurant and he didn't even know how to swipe a credit card. My amex card was rejected twice and I had to use another card to pay. When I inquired with Amex they said it was wrongly entered. We were so hungry even after having buffet because we couldn't eat any thing there. We had to head to subway and had a sandwich. Don't believe all the positive reviews. I am sure they are written by the staff. We paid 27 dollars and had to eat in subway after our lunch. Please avoid, this is the worst place ever. I have been looking forward to trying the lunch buffet for quite some time. Finally, got a chance and was mildly disappointed. The selection was limited on the buffet. A large portion was a spread of salad vegetables, lettuce, carrots, cucumber, tomato. The actual Indian food was ok. I was really disappointed they didn't have any samosas. My kids ordered the garlic naan off the menu and really enjoyed it. My craving was satisified, but I think I'll try another place next time. read more

My favorite place for curry. If heaven had a flavor it would taste like creamy tomato curry. Charbroiled awesomeness and tandoori deliciousness. Fresh cilantro, shrimp, spiced lamb to perfection and curry fish. Naan is fresh baked and delivered to your table straight from the oven. I crave their curry days later it's so good! We have been eating here for a few years. Don't let the lack of updated decor turn you off. The service is excellent and the food is really good. I prefer dinner to the lunch buffet, but for the price the buffet is nice (lots of options for vegetarians). Their butter chicken is the best I have found in the area. Had the urge to introduce someone to Indian cuisine. We ended up at Bawarchi and although it wasn't anything special, neither was it offensive. They sell serviceable Indian food at reasonable prices. The decor is warm and inviting, and the service was all smiles. They were quite happy to field questions from a very curious Indian-food novice as well. The sampler plate with onion bhaji, samosas and veggie pakora was an easy pleaser. The entree course featured lamb vindaloo, chicken madras and a mixed protein biryani, as well as garlic naan. The curries were decent, but the biryani was the highlight. Not entirely sure how everything gets cooked together and done perfectly, but that's what happens here. The naan as well was exactly what you want from naan: crisp and flaky outside, tender and airy inside. All in all an enjoyable dinner. Note that they have a lunch buffet as well, and that may change your experience. If you are in Tampa Bay and don't want to drive to St. Petersburg or Tampa proper for better options, Bawarchi will serve your Indian food desires amicably. read more

Bad bad Bad. i have never been to such a bad restaurant. We went there today for Sunday brunch. Food was v stale. There was some kind of smell in chicken. There was only one server in the whole restaurant. But there were not that many table full either. Just 2 including us. Buffet was for $11.95 but oh man quality of food was so poor. And not that many variety. Never going back there. People who r praising this restaurant in other reviews must be the iowners or their friends. Stay away!!! read more

The service is great, always friendly. We have visited on a few different occasions, most recently for the Tuesday night vegetarian buffet. It was awesome. I'm not sure if the items offered change or not, but I can't wait to go back and give it a try. There was naan, samosas, 4-5 different entrees, rice, along with a little salad available. Hands down best Indian food in the area. You cant find better service anywhere else. Bit pricey but worth every penny. It used to be spicy but the "non-traditional" older women complainers whined about the heat. ITS INDIAN FOOD, not Chinese! Heat is supposed to be there! We are huge fans of Indian cuisine, and this is a local favorite. When Lamesh is in the kitchen, it's always a good meal. The inconsistency only comes when he is not there. Service is also inconsistent, so we prefer to get take out. All in all, the food is 5 stars when Lamesh is cooking. Meats are tender and I *never* taste fat or sinew, like with other Indian and Pakistani restaurants. The garlic naan with cilantro is delectable. Also, give a try to their version of chicken tikka (not masala) and avoid the sauce. The meat is made in a tandoori (clay pot oven) but is still moist, and served with white onions. The "Seek Kebab" are chunks of meat (a little salty for me, but still delicious) and is way better than any shish kebab" I've tasted at other places... We eat here a couple times a month. Keep up the good work, please! By the way, his lunch buffet is not great but don't judge based on that because dinner is wonderful!! read more

Honestly, we used to come here so often and for years we've been going. I read apparently they've changed ownership or something but it really shows. The food used to be amazing but now it's crazy. The waiters are completely disconnected from the customers. Not sure what happened, but I'm sad that it did. read more
