I found BaxterBoo the day my shih tzu, Oolie, was born and that was just about a year and a half ago. I buy a lot of items on sale (which is easy because there always seems to be a sale or discount) and I usually have a coupon for a percentage off an order or free shipping. Their rewards system is pretty awesome, too. I mentioned discount codes and they're probably the best part. If you don't buy something in a month or so they'll send you a 40% off coupon that lasts for a fair amount of time after you receive it. You can submit pictures of your pets in their products and it has the possibility of being chosen as the pic of the day where you receive a $25.00 gift code! (Oolie has won twice). You're then entered to win their monthly prize of $250.00. I've never had a problem with their customer service and I've had to return several items due to sizing. The emails I've exchanged with their customer service have been pleasant and helpful and better than I would expect. The only issue I've discovered with a product was one set of bows I bought around Christmas have fallen apart already. As a STL Cards fan the red bow was worn for quite a while and it just sort of came undone. I think it must be the material because the other red bow that came with it also fell apart and I hadn't even used it yet. I may pursue the issue but I haven't decided yet. read more

I'm not going to lie.....pets in clothing kind of creep me out. I'm not sure what it is about it--but the creep out factor is further accentuating when the pets are wearing more expensive "clothing" than I am (Burberry Dog Capes, Coach Accessories, etc.). However, I have made two exceptions when it comes to my Bella. (1) For reasons of necessity--such as jackets. My pup gets COLD and doesn't like rain.....so jackets are a must. (2) When she wears her Yoda costume at Halloween. Puggle Jedi Master, She is. Bella is simply outgrowing her current jacket that we picked up at Toys R Us a long time ago and we've been having a hard time finding a replacement that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Beware !!!!! Their coupon codes are misleading. I ordered two bags of Cycle Dog Treats. Checked for coupons, didn't find any, but at checkout an offer of Buy Three Get One Free came up. So I increased my order to three, input the promo code and hit enter. NOTHING came up to advise the promo code wasn't valid. When the treats arrived this week there were only three in the box. I emailed twice to get the response the code wasn't valid. Then called and was told that offer comes up as a banner (it didn't, it was offered at checkout) and only applied to certain items. Of course they don't accept returns of treats. She offered to see if her manager would approve a 10% credit, I declined as $7 vs $25 is an insult. This wasn't my first purchase from Baxter Boo. Previously there wasn't a problem, but in today's environment with many people out of work and small business struggling to survive, my money will go to honest vendors. Beware of this company! I have ordered 3 different items in attempts to get a shirt that fit my dog for a costume. 1 of them I ordered with out assistance. I indeed measured my dog, but, item had to be cut off him with scissors it was so small. I contacted customer service, giving them the measurements. He recommended 2 other tops to try in my dogs "size" (ha!!) Not even close. The return policy is 14 days after order is placed, not when order arrives. It takes 2 weeks to arrive. I guess this is their way of not having to be responsible. Sure, I could have paid return shipping and gotten a store credit, but, clearly the sizes are not even close to being accurate, and I'd have to pay shipping (again) to get new items to me. I ordered for the first time a dog bed. I checked the size and didn't realize it was too small. The return policy indicated they would take returns and credit without use in full 15 days. I went to return it and the policy stated they wouldn't cover shipping. No big deal until I realized to send the small dog bed back thru post office, or ups would cost me close to 40 and the price of the bed was 50. I called BaxterBoo but got no help. I'm making this review as short as possible because I've already wasted so much time trying to get my money back, with no luck so far. Long story short, the sizes on the website don't match what you get. They highly stress to measure your dog and claim they have the best return policy "on the planet", which is completely the opposite. If you need to return, you pay the shipping and have to reorder the product. I ordered two items that indicate it would fit my dog. One was waaaay to small, and one was waaaaay to big. I have to pay for shipping back on both of them... plus they don't honor the price you paid originally (i.e., if you bought on sale, and is no longer on sale, you pay whatever the price is when you place the order again). I've ordered from this company on several occasions and I do support small business. This particular business should work on how to process returns, how to label sizing on the clothing and on their website, and they need to update their support email. I ordered quite a few items and the return processing didn't happen until I called to ask about the the status. This happened on two occasions. On the first return, it took over a week after receipt to get them to process the credit. They told me that they only had one person who processes returns. On the second incident, 13 days had passed, and no credit. When I called they claimed they had not received the returned package. A hour later, they call me back and say that they have it and will process the return. So, if you are returning anything to this company, you will want to get tracking on it. The other issue is sizing. You can study their sizing on the site and do all the measurements you want--but there are going to be items that will not be correct. I found this to be the case with some of the knitted sweaters. Either the sizing was missing from the site--or it skipped sizes. Some of the size tags in the garment were missing, and I got several of the sweaters with pieces of tape or price gun stickers where sizes were handwritten on them. My guess is that they GUESSED the size since some of the items were so large--it would be hard to believe that their hand printed sizing was correct. When I returned items because of sizing--they said they would issue a refund of 5.00 in postage. I insisted on the refund because one of the items was supposed to be a "small" and it was HUGE--like a large (but a smaller large, if there is such a thing). That large item took up much of the bag--and I did not want to pay for something that was wrong. Once they found the return item--and notice I said "found," they did not do what they said--which was refund my postage. Now they are going to measure it to prove me wrong--okay. Unfortunately, I don't have time to debate over dog clothing, so I don't rate this action as "excellent customer service." It seems that they need to be a bit more through in terms of marking their own store tags (which some items had) with the correct sizing. Allowing tags to fall off, running short of inventory and sizing information and then being forced to "guess" at what you are shipping would make any store a bit unorganized. Lastly, they have an email: support@baxterboo.com. This email bounces back. I replied to an email they sent me about a refund and it does not work. If you can't reply to this email--maybe they ought to say that in the email. Obviously, this is a small business--and they have great items. And they do seem to want to please their client. Problem is they are in need of some organization--and maybe even staff-- so they won't burn bridges with customers who have attempted to support them. I've seen some reviews where people cry "fraud" and "scam." That is a bit much--and anyone with common sense would know that these folks aren't out to scam or defraud anyone. They simply need to be more organized and they probably need to hire more folks to get the work done properly. They have great sales--and so I won't say I will never order from them again--but I will do so with caution and make sure that I can't find the same items at another store for a better price--with less drama-- before I spend my money here. I ordered a green rain jumper in medium and it turned out to be the wrong size because they have the sizing chart wrong. There is a range given of 17-19 chest girth on the green jumper I ordered, so I bought it because my dog is 18.5. It is too small. So I looked at the site again and realize that they have a single measurement (not a range) for chest girth on the yellow item. They have a disclaimer on the yellow one that the measurements are for the item. When I contacted the company, I was told that the reason I got the wrong size is it's a measurement for the item, not the dog. Ok, so when I read 17-19 or whatever that was the result of someone MEASURING the jumper?!? There is also no disclaimer on the green color I bought, but only the yellow of the same thing. After I was referred to another person, she told me it was my responsibility to not put it on my dog, but to send it back. (I had been very clear my dog wore this because the weather is bad.) So I'm being told I need to pay return shipping on this item that had misleading information. Yes, I put this item on my dog, but you don't blame the customer for caring for her pet when you led her to buy the wrong size. Fix your site so the colors both have the same sizing for the garment measurement and send me a size large with an apology for the inconvenience. Don't tell me I shouldn't put the jumper I bought in good faith on my dog when it's pouring rain and tell me to shell out more money to have it sent back! read more

Im sad to see some negative reviews about this place. I needed boots for my dog to keep her furry paws clean when I take her out in the rain. Baxterboo had inexpensively priced boots (in pink might I add). I bought the boots, was pleased to get an email minutes later that they had already been shipped. 2 days later here they are in my home. A lot of people complain that their prices are too high. I have two things to say to that. Of course a small local business can't offer amazon prices. Seriously? is everyone simply looking out for themselves? I'd rather pay a few extra bucks and support local businesses over corporations ANY day (and no, I am not a millionaire, I'm a starving student, but even I can see the economical benefits to this). Beware, beware! When I first discovered this web site, I thought it was awesome! It's so cute and colorful, and well done- AND they always have one some 'great' sale. BUT--- only after ordering well over $100 in merchandise did I think to compare their prices with other companies. YIKES! The 'retail' prices they quote (and then mark through to suggest that you're getting a big break) are MUCH higher than the actual retail prices shown on other sites. On almost every item I have compared online- even after all of Baxterboo's 'discounts' and 'sales'- the Baxterboo price is still WAY HIGHER (LIKE, DOUBLE!) the prices of most other sources online. Also, their products are not accurately advertised. I ordered one expensive toy because it was advertised as 'practically indestructible', so I thought my puppy would get a lot of play time out of it. When it arrived, my dog had the whole thing in shreds in 15 minutes. There was nothing 'indestructible' about it. Then, when I researched their prices and discovered that I'd paid more than double the real retail price of $13- after thinking that I was getting it on a great sale, I was especially unhappy. I contacted the company and told them that they were ripping people off by jacking up their prices before "marking them down" with 'sales'. The person I talked to said it was a pricing error on the product I called about and that they'd fix the error, but now, a month later- the product is still marked at $30, when the actual retail price of it is under $15. Worst customer experience EVER! They started by advertising something that they did not even have in stock. When I originally ordered this product and another is when I found out that it was "out of stock"! When I cancelled the order they told me that the other item on the order has already been sent and so it could not be refunded immediately. I refused to accept the package and it took over 2 weeks to be refunded only after I threatened action through the BBB. They told me that they had moved their fulfillment center from the return address on the package from North Carolina to Illinois and blamed me for sending it there even though it was their own return address. Customer service phone woman was the rudest individual ever and should not be working anywhere near sales. She attempted to simply speak over me several times when I asked to speak to her supervisor. Perhaps she could not pull herself off of her living room couch and bag o chips to do any semblance of a job resembling customer service. Thank God I paid with Paypal as I was in the process of filing my complaint when refund finally came for something I never actually received. Items look so cute but the quality when it arrives is not there. I buy so many dog clothes from Amazon, Chuey, Petco and Petsmart as well as Etsy boutiques. I know how to measure a dog and these items listed measurements that are not accurate. Worst customer service ever. There is one guy that answers the phone each time and has the worst phone personality. I had a problem ordering as their website kept rejecting my order and giving me error codes. I had to do my order over and over and Mr. no customer service would just say sorry our system says the security code is wrong. I actually got my bank on the phone and they verified it was his company rejecting the sale and my card was perfect. They offered to speak to him and he had no interest. I should have walked away then, but silly me used another card and did the order again with no help from him. Then the order arrives and items did not fit and not even close to stated measurements. I get the same guy and this time he said they would measure the dresses when I sent them back and decide if they didn't fit. How shady. He then mumbled stuff about the sizing doesn't really have to fit to be accurate. Seriously. If you have a 23" waist and the pant says 23" waist it needs to fit. There isn't excuses. If I could give Zero stars, I would have. Baxterboo suck at customer service and due to their incompetence, I am out over $100 and my short-haired dog has no protection from the snow that has arrived. I tried to deal with their abysmal customer service woman. Basically the customer is blamed for their incompetence. Their ineptitude is my cost. They have mis-labled a very expensive snow-suit and now they want me to take the hit on the postage both ways, as well as the hassle of applying to recoup customs charges that were all for nothing as they blatantly sent me the wrong size. It looks about 5 sizes too small....the garment does not correspond to the dimensions given on their website and somehow that's my problem. They say they have a disclaimer that "you might have to buy a size or two bigger to compensate for fur but my dog has skin-tight fur that adds nothing to his girth.......and obviously, I did not shave him to take his measurement so it should make no difference even if he had a full body afro as I am measuring with his fur still attached to his body so the disclaimer is a pathetic pre-conceived fraud-aid. The snow suit is 6inches too small and rides half way up my dogs body so does not even resemble the chart they have. I think they have re-labelled a returned item and put size 18 on a size 12 garment. Something tells me I will not be able to post an honest review the company or product on their site. The product was good quality from Muttluks who tell me they have also misled customers by saying the girth is the most important measure when in fact the manufacturers say it is the back length that is the basis of the size overall. If I bought from a different supplier, I'd have had the right size and a good experience. Sheer arrogance, be warned & steer well clear of these guys. read more

Still have to play spin the bottle on sizes a bit but was able to find various styles that are working for some of my hard to fit dogs. I would like to see adjustable leg straps on the ones with. Some of the brands they carry (DogoPet, Pinkaholic etc) are for small dogs only, so the sizing is different than conventional pet clothes. I love Baxterboo. It makes me sad to see all the bad reviews on yelp :( because if you look on other sites it says "Rating for baxterboo.com: 4.8 - 2,087 reviews". I have made 15+ orders since 2013 and never had an issue. I have also returned a dog coat I got and it was too heavy for my little dog (it was not bad quality at all and I am in Canada which makes it harder/costly to return). I have actually never gotten anything that was bad quality or I was disappointed in. I talk to customer service on occasion, they will combine a gift certificate (you get $5 for your pets birthday or for purchases when you get over a certain amount of points) so my dogs birthdays are close together so I wait and get them to make it a $10 one so it covers my shipping to Canada! My only disappointment is that I usually find something I want and they're out of stock!! read more

Be aware that this company does not post reviews by people who are not thrilled with the product they purchased. I ordered a $60 fleece jacket for my Bichon, following their measurement guides to the letter. It should have been roomy on him according to the measuring instructions, but it is very snug and rides up his body. Unfortunately I needed to use it and had to make a buttonhole on the top to facilitate attaching a leash to his harness, which rendered the product non-returnable. I couldn't believe that a $60 jacket for a small dog wouldn't come with this feature to begin with. I wrote a review on their website stating my disappointment. It was never published. the sizing is wrong on 98% of the items that I ordered, which results in large amounts of return shipping expenses. Some of the pictures do not represent the item, for example, the Hurtta Body Liner. https://www.hurtta.com/global_en/body-warmer The leg coverings appear to extend to the knee joint, however, when I received the item, the "sleeves" were only 1.5" long. When I contacted Baxter Boo I was told that "the length of the sleeves were commensurate with the size of the item" and that there was nothing they would do to remedy my dissatisfaction. I told customer service that their website was misrepresenting the product and all they said was that "they took the picture from the Hurtta website". No help at all. I have a "body warmer" advertised as winter wear, that doesn't come close to providing warmth to the leg area. At $75, I consider this a JOKE. You get what you pay for . . . I ordered a dog stroller for my mother's birthday and selected 2-3 business day shipping but unfortunately what they sent her in 2-3 days was a free dog bone and a letter stating she would not receive the stroller for another 7 business days! When I called to complain they said my only option was to pay additional shipping to return the stroller to them. Thanks for nothing! read more
