BaxterBoo has a great web site and a good selection of nice things. I have bought several things for my young dog from them. When I realized that I had ordered the Vail coat and a hoodie in a size too small, I mailed them back and re-ordered in a larger size. I received an email about a credit on my account for the hoodie but I wondered why there was nothing about the coat. Imagine my surprise when the coat turned up in my mailbox with (1) two stickies on the coat marked dirty and (2) a note saying it was not returnable due to being dirty and that BB was charging me $3.50 to send the item back to me. I called the company today and spoke to a company representative to express my dismay at how I felt about the way this was handled. Not customer friendly. What I am unable to figure out is how the coat became dirty. I never put it on my dog and it never left my bedroom. I realize this is a small company and keeping costs down is important. If I could give this company negative stars, I would. I have two beloved pooches that I shower lots and lots of presents on. So needless to say, I've shopped many pet websites. I made my first purchase on baxterboo.com last week and I will NEVER ever order from them again. It was shippped usps and when I tracked it, the package was marked delivered. I never received it. I contacted baxterboo customer service by phone and was sent to a voicemail. I left a voicemail with my phone number and I was sent an email instead saying that it was basically my issue that the package was lost and that once they send it, it's out of their hands. I responded back by email (seems to be the only way they would like to converse with you) and explained that I paid for a product and it wasn't my fault that it wasn't delivered and it wasn't my responsibility to investigate. They never responded. I finally received the package and it was opened and the coat I ordered was damaged. I called again to find out about returning it. Someone actually answered the phone and was not apologetic about the situation at all. She said I could send it back but I had to pay for the return shipping. Can you believe this? She didn't care at all that I was a first time customer and would never shop with them again. This company does not care about you as a customer. Don't fall for their 365 day return policy because if you read the fine print you will see that there are many limitations. The products that I've gotten from the company have been okay, but run small. Following my most recent order, I requested to have the return shipping covered due to the way the item was listed (which was very misleading) and was told 'no' by the customer service rep. So, I asked to speak with a supervisor, had to leave a message and waited for days with no return call. I purchased the American River Camp harness. The design is defective. One side of the webbed clip is attached too close to the velcro and the webbing is continuously getting stuck and ripped by the velcro. Its literally impossible to keep the webbed strap from attaching to the velcro. The return policy states item must be in unused condition with no defects. Well if it had no defects I wouldn't be returning. Ridiculous. I don't think I'll be ordering from them again. I don't recommend anyone buy this harness. read more

I really like this company. I have ordered and spent a lot of $$$$$$ on my furbabies with this company. I love their site, and they have always been nice when I have had to contact them. I think there is room for improvement especially for people like me that order ALOT of me...so I see where improvements need to be over time. I really dislike that they don't let you exchange items for the same item. You have to return the item and get a credit before you reorder. Then, you have to pay to return the item....then have to pay for them to reship the item. I ordered a $6.00 fleece vest on sale(originally $31.25). The fleece was way too big. I have to pay to return it to the company, pay $18.25 for the fleece now, and pay to reship the shirt. So, the $6.00 fleece is going to cost me at least $31.25!!!!!!!!! The should allow you to exchange an item if they have the item and you get the original discount. BUYER BEWARE! Do your homework and your research. Their "sales" are not sales. They are not being truthful about their promotional discounts. They either mark items on sale the week before up and offer you the following week a percentage off that same item that was marked down more than this weeks new promotional discount would be on that product, or they hide the fine print or don't even have fine print on the emails they send or on the website explaining exclusions. I have screen shots of my conversations with the web chat person where she states that she notified the graphics person that the exclusions were not visible to consumers and thanked me for bringing it to their attention! As a consolation, she tried to offer me a 25% discount but would not give me the code, she was going to help me check out and apply it. I passed. I checked my email less than 15 minutes later and a bulk email went out offering consumers 25% off. recently ordered two Hoodie dog sweatshirts from this website. I had measured both dogs to insure a proper fit. The items were obviously not going to fit. The return policy states that they will not refund money if the item being returned is dirty or has pet hair on it. I therefore never actually put the items on the dogs. Rather I put them back in the bags to return them. I received credit for one sweatshirt but the other was returned to me. The sweatshirt was turned inside out and came with a note stating it was dirty and had pet hair on it. I can appreciate their return policy but since the clothes never touched the dog, I can only assume they made this up or the clothing was originally shipped to me dirty and contained pet hair. Despite my sending photos with a measuring tape - and then ultimately sending the item back so they could "double check my measurements" (their request) - they continued to argue with me insisting their measurements were accurate and mine were off - all to avoid refunding the shipping!! SERIOUSLY?? To lose a customer over something this trivial - after making me jump through so many hoops is crazy. Very horrible customer service! I spoke with a rep before ordering, they helped me size my dogs. I got the harnesses and they were way too big. I sent them back, mind you I had to PAY to send them back. I got confirmation from the postal service they received it on October 10th, after I sent it on the 6th. The company could offer me no assistance on if they got it on that day or not. I finally got my refund on October 23rd. At this point, I've spoke with numerous reps both on the phone and online. So my refund was not a full refund. So I called and spoke with a rep, he said he would look into it. I was informed that my Baxterbux were taken back. Never once during any of my calls from the start of my refund process to the end was I told they take away any bux earned from the order being returned. I placed an order in between returning my first order and getting my refund, because hey, it was 10 dollars. So after I was on the phone earlier with A VERY RUDE woman( Chanel maybe?) she kept telling me it was common sense it would be taken out of my refund and it was their policy. It is NO WHERE on their website that it is their policy that they will take money out of your refund if baxterbux are redeemed. The number of times she told me it was common sense was insulting! She also informed me they have reps that are nicer than others. You are in customer service, should you all be nice? She kept cutting me off and would not let me talk. I've never experienced an online order that was this easy and personal. I purchased the item I wanted, I got an email that it was sent about an hour and a half later (standard shipping). The email said they welcomed pictures of my dog wearing what I bought her, and that they even post some of those pictures on their website. I received the package 2 days later. They included a little Christmas bonus and hand wrote a thank you and my name on the receipt. I've never seen that with any other online orders I've made with other companies. I bought my dogs hoodies and boots for winter (it was extremely cold, and they NEEDED these items). I measured them -exactly- as it describes on BaxterBoo's website. All of the hoodies were one size too small. The boots fit perfectly! However...in less than a week the Velcro strap was unraveling like a sweater. My dogs were only using them to go outside to do their business. It was far too cold out for exercise, so they weren't using the boots to run and play, at all. Also the bottoms of the boots started to shred! Again, they were only going out to do their business. My dogs nails are cut short, so I -know- it had nothing to do with that. I called the company and told them I want to return these items. The woman who answered told me "That's fine, but there better not be ANY dirt, fur or anything on the items!" I find the way she said it very rude, as was her tone. How am I supposed to get fur out of dog boots, without ripping them even worse than they already were? I got them items as clean as I possibly could, and shipped them out. I shipped them on the 5th or 6th of April. It's now the 18th, and BaxterBoo says they do not have the items. (*Note: I no longer have the tracking number, it got lost.) Their reply email was written in a manner that could only come across as rude, just like the woman that answered my phone call. After the level of rude that I dealt with, it leads me to wonder if they in fact do have the items, but are saying they don't... I HIGHLY recommend that people look elsewhere to shop. Following their measurement guide exactly and several times I ordered my dog winter boots. They didn't even come close to fitting. I tried them on him in the house and they kept coming off. I then vacuumed them thoroughly to make sure they were clean to return. I returned and they returned them to me (at my cost) telling me the boots were dirty on the inside. I contacted their alleged customer service and they basically called me a liar and then transferred me to a "supervisor" who did not answer the phone. All I wanted at the time was a bigger size. No one has even had the courtesy to return my call and so now I want my money back. I guessing that's not going to happen. I am disputing the charge with my credit card company and writing reviews on every website I can find. DON'T ORDER FROM BAXTERBOO.COM unless of course you like getting ripped off. read more

Like other reviewers, upon first discovering this site I thought it was awesome and they seemed to have great sales. I ordered over $100 in merchandise as well. Reviewer Elaine N. is correct the "retail" prices they quote and then mark down to suggest you're getting a big break are much higher than other high-end sites like GW Little. My bigger problem with them is that they do not quote the manufacturer's sizing information. They remeasure the items themselves and only publish those measurements on their website and then provide contradictory information on how to measure your pet and incorporate their sizing information. 1) In their disclaimer, they note: "Important Sizing Note: The following measurements are the dimensions of the actual product, not of the pet they fit. After measuring your pet, MAKE SURE all measurements FIT WITHIN the following dimensions (with a little room to spare in the chest and neck)." 2) They ask you to measure your pet the same way the manufacturers do - particularly length: from base of tail to the base of the neck. 3) Their quoted sizes for the Birthday Boy shirt were as follows: Medium Back Length: 11.5" Chest: 15" (Most Important) Neck: 8" Large Back Length: 15.5" Chest: 18" (Most Important) Neck: 11" So based on 1-3 above, my 9lb yorkie has a back length of 13 and a girth of 16, so following their disclaimer to "make sure all measurements FIT within the following dimensions" I chose the L. It was HUGE and completely covered my dogs tail and his wee-wee so he would have pee-ed on the shirt if I forgot to pull it up. - the Manufacturers tag lists length for a L to be 16-19". The actual product length is 15 inches. I'm assuming the manufacturer adds a few inches to account for the fact that most dog owners don't want to be constantly pulling up their pets shirt so they don't pee on it. - The length for a Medium on the manufacturers tag is 12-15." Had Baxter Boo quoted the manufacturers sizes, I would have ordered the correct size of M. However, Baxter Boo suggests you measure your dog the exact same as the manufacturer does. That doesn't make any sense- based on the same measurements, I would have a different size under the manufacturers measurements and under Baxter Boos measurements. Baxter Boo should at least make it clear that their sizes are different from the manufacturer's suggested measurements. While they state that their measurements are the dimensions of the product, this contradicts how they instruct you to measure your pets and then to "make sure those measurements" fit within their re-measured measurements. When I called the customer service to talk to them about this 1) I was disconnected 3 times so had to call back and start over; 2) the reps, particularly Tami their "sizing specialist" insisted they were correct and the manufacturer was wrong - she didn't understand that the manufacturer's extra inches are to prevent coverage of private parts 3) she insisted that their disclaimer was clear although the site asks you to measure your dog exactly as the manufacturer but then publishes different measurements but then requires you to "make sure your measurements fit within [Baxter boo's] measurements (if you're confused, so was I!) 4) the first two reps (before being disconnected) said for me to return the merchandise and if the measurements were incorrect they would refund me up to $5 in return shipping; 5) when I called back the third time, Tami was rude and said "look, just return the merchandise and if the measurements are incorrect (which I'm not holding my breath) I would get $3 in return shipping. When I pointed out that the first two had said $5 she said, well I'm saying $3. ?!?!!!! I also looked up the sizing information for the same shirt on other websites and their measurements quote the manufacturers measurements. I would not recommend Baxter Boo. read more
