I took my 14 year old Maltese to them for grooming for the first time Monday. I was so happy with them. Two ladies took care of my dog and made her look so cute. They went above and beyond to take care of her hair and skin. She is old with skin issues and no other groomer has made her look as good as they did. They were so friendly and really seemed to care about my dog. I will definitely be going back to them. The cost was reasonable and the grooming time was reasonable too. Disappointing. Been a frequent customer but they don't seem to care. They don't improve I'm gonna start looking elsewhere. You select certain items in quantities and then it ends up selecting other items in quantities in the online ordering. I have to start taking screenshots in order to prove what I ordered. The only way I can fix the order if I drag these heavy bags food in which defeats the purpose of Home delivery or make another order of things I don't need. In the past, I would always go to Petco and PetSmart. Our family has a dog and an Australian White Tree Frog. As of late for the past couple years, Petco and PetSmart seemed to always run out of crickets mid-week. They would get deliveries on Friday, and I would try to time it so that I would go on the weekend to get the crickets. However, sometimes they die and I end mid week with none. After I moved to Arlington Heights, I noticed Pet Supplies Plus off Dundee. Gave them a try when the other stores were out of crickets and they had them! Also, I was impressed at how the staff was engaging with my dog. Most times when I go in, they will ask to pet her or offer a treat. One time, an associate spent several minutes playing with her and training her a bit for a treat. The other pet stores had nice associates as well that would engage. However, due to them always running out of crickets and simply that Pet Supply Plus is closer to my house, I made the switch to go here first for supplies. read more

After visiting several pet stores over the past few months, we stopped into the Arlington Heights/Buffalo Grove store to look at ferrets a couple of times. The staff were pretty knowledgeable about the ferrets and the cages were clean and well maintained every time we visited (which is no small task with 3-4 kits making a mess about every hour). They were also very accommodating when we asked to bring in our current ferret to see if the one we'd picked out would get along with him. I'd highly recommend this store for any ferret purchases! read more

Called this location and spoke to someone who said they spoke to a manager who said they DID do cat nail trims. I asked how to make an appointment since online just said Dog which should have been my clue. She said walk-ins were fine. I had questions about the possible use of pheromones to get our dog to climb steps. A tall man with dark hair (didn't get his name but I believe he's the manager) took the time to educate me about pheromone use. Unfortunately what I thought pheromones might help with was NOT something they can do. But he asked me questions about our dog and came up with a few ways we might reduce her hesitation and increase her interest.to try. If they do not know the answer to your question, they will tell you and then go about trying to find the answer, or point you in the direction of someone who does. The only (minor) negative about this place is that this is an old location and tends to show it's age in brightness, shine and cramped aisles. I love Pet Supplies Plus but was disappointed in the lack of Frislie's non-pate wet product, athough I did hear why that is.

My boyfriend and I are going to foster a cat soon so I wanted to check out their supplies. The store is much smaller than other big box pet stores in the area. However, it makes up for the small space with high quality and specialty brands. For example, I saw several different types of Science Diet brand cat food. With regard to cat stuff, they didn't have a big selection of trees, perches or carriers. But, other than that, selection was good. The staff was pretty friendly. And, they had a rescue group at the store with a some cats and dogs available for adoption. There were some really cute black lab puppies and I got to pet them so I was a happy camper. Pretty good pet store and will most likely be back to pick up supplies for my foster. read more

It really just looks like your staff doesn't care about anybody. No masks no gloves? You do know that there's a pandemic going on with a very real very scary very deadly disease. And your stuff is not protecting Patrons from potential exposure. You have a lot of people passing through there anyone of them could be infected and could infect your staff members so your stuff needs to be wearing masks so that they don't spread to other staff or patrons. This place is OK. They actually have a better selection of parrot toys that is cheaper than the other chains in the area. Some of the aisles are cramped - when I went shopping with a cart, I had to move it over to the wall several times to accommodate foot traffic from associates. There were too many floor displays/bins that really inhibited the traffic, especially with someone with a cart (me!). Some of the teenage workers were goofy...but I guess that's just characteristic of teenagers. At some point at least one of them was making loud obnoxious sounds... not very professional, even for a kid. It was amusing to a point, but after several minutes it just became overly obnoxious. I'll go back, though. They have some deals and some good prices, and the cramped aisles and goofy teens aren't enough to dissuade me from spending my money there. read more

I would give the store 5 stars as the store personnel is great - specifically Daniel and Marvin who go above and beyond. Also the curbside pickup and delivery service are great services. But I would give Pet Supplies Plus itself 2 stars as the online ordering is a nightmare in that the online product inventory status does not reflect what is actually available at the store, and there is a significant inventory management issue as well, as reflected by the number of out-of-stocks. Also they have eliminated a number of quality brands, such as Nutro and filled in with lower-end brands. read more

I was so lost and angry and scared for my GS, I had recently before this trauma, had seen and been help as a customer, but made me feel like family, what a amazing feeling! Daniel, no I don't know him, or any of these, kind hearted people, that I will be speaking about, I have so much duress, and medical problems, I'm speechless. I brought this sick, filthy completely covered with Urine & Feces, moreover I didn't know anything about my GS, named finally, Toby, male. I went in this past Friday (4-1-16) at around 6:30p on my way home from work. The person at the register was not currently checking anyone out, so she turned to me and asked if she could help. I asked her where Nature's Miracle was. She asked if it was for a cat or dog and I asked if it made a difference (she said yes - I did not know that). She told me isle 6. While I was looking at the options of Nature's Miracle in the cat isle (I hadn't bought it in a long time, so I did not realize that there were so many options), there was another customer near me and an employee came by and asked if he was finding what he was looking for. He said "mostly" and the employee asked something else... I wasn't really paying attention, you know, but he didn't let the "mostly" go without follow up. Then he asked me if I needed help. I told him that my cat had started peeing in my bed and he directed me to the specific cat urine Nature's Miracle product (which I had no idea that existed before). This is the thing, though, he also mentioned that there might be a physical problem (he mentioned it ever so non-judgmentally), and I was able to say that, yes, I had taken my cat to the vet and he had a UTI. I don't know how employees or a store can do better than that. If I had thought to notice the employees names, I would have written a nice letter telling the manager as much (except I probably never would have gotten around to it, so that's why Yelp is nice!) read more

I LOVED this pet shop. My parents live in Wheeling (as did I up until last September), and on my most recent visit home, I only packed a 1-day supply of Wellness Just for Puppy for my lil mini schnauzer! Needless to say, this necessitated a panicked 4th of July scramble to (a) find a store that carried this very high quality food (only the best for my lil man) and (b) was open on July 4th. First of all, this place was OPEN on a national holiday...kudos to them!! The store was large, spacious, clean, and very well stocked. Based on my fairly miserable experiences with pet shops and chain stores in San Francisco, walking into Pet Supplies Plus was like entering the pearly gates. Now that I'm back in purgatory (read: SF), I pine for this store. I'm about to head out to a local shop thats probably 1/20th the size of this place, and I am NOT happy about it. read more
