Second, you'll be working with Everton, the owner. That makes communication easier - he's not always on site, but responds quickly when you reach out. In our case, it was a good size project: demolishing a concrete patio, installing a new drain system, two sets of steps, adjacent to a pool, and with a narrow alley access (no truck to the back yard). It took a little longer than expected, but the final result was worth it. The demo crew was efficient, neat, and worked safely. The prep crew spent a good deal of time installing the drain system, note the photo of the tie-in to the downspout - that was not in the proposal, but they felt it was the way to go. Too, they spent hours grading and leveling to insure the base was prepped correctly. The install crew took their time, and I was really pleased with the detail of the odd cuts required - see the angles and corners. As well, when I mentioned it, Everton made a special order to get grey drains for me (see photos), as they just looked better with the paver we chose (stock is black). The install crew even ripped up a section to install an additional drain right below the downspout for the patio cover I was having another contractor install. No one asked them to do that - they just felt it was the right thing to do. It's the extra details like these I feel set them apart.

For my project we were looking to replace our yucky inconsistent crabgrass lawn area with artificial grass. Kris came out to walk through our project late last year and quickly came back with a beautiful design and bid. I had received a few other bids, but Kris's design was by far the most thoughtful and gave my kids more square footage of play area. I had to put the project on hold in January due to some life factors, but called him back in early Feb to get going. Kris quickly came back out with samples, confirmed the project design and price and about a week later the project started! Kris brought the 2 Project Managers over in person to meet me a few days before we started. Pablo managed the project on side and great to work with. His crew was friendly, respectful of our space, (cleaning up each night, closing our gates, taking away trash) and super efficient! The project went so fast and was done in just 3 full days (I was prepared for 4-7). Throughout the project it was also super easy to ask questions, get updates via the text group the office set up. The owner thanked me for calling back because he had thrown away my information and appointment time (That should have been a RED FLAG) So I went ahead and rescheduled for Friday 7/16 at 1130 am. I showed up and 11:15 am, after asking for the day off since Serenity is only available Monday thru Friday. I called him, and he tells me he will be there in 20 minutes. (Already pass my appointment time) I had come from Tracy so I waited. I ended waiting 40 minutes TOTAL and HE NEVER SHOWED UP! Worst part is that I never got a call telling me he was running late or apologizing!!! What a waste of time, gas and a day off. I refuse to do business with someone that has NO RESPECT for a possible new customer.

His team started work in the next week and the whole job was professionally done after four days. He knows every aspect of residential construction and can come up with creative solutions for whatever issues you're having. He handled three issues on our property--a back-up sump pump, a downspout that was bringing water back into our house instead of to the street, and some washout from underneath one corner of our foundation from years of rainwater running where it shouldn't. He also repaired a mudsill that was damage by rats. My family is very pleased with Edwin's work and are feeling confident that future rains won't lead to more interior damage in the future.
