These guys were the absolute best. I found Bay Area Moving & Storage because I needed packing and moving help. PODS listed a number of third-party movers, which was a good place to start my research. As I investigated the companies that claim to do packing, I found that most offer only the bare minimum - like only wrapping furniture. I found Bay Area Moving & Storage on Yelp and read their webpage. I talked with Juan about my needs, and he asked all the right questions. One wrinkle is that I needed help (packing AND moving) on a specific single day, and thankfully they were available and could do it all. He gave me a complete quote, and we talked through it. The day before the move, he confirmed everything with me over the phone. Pablo and a team of three others called in the morning, and arrived on schedule with all the necessary packing supplies and equipment. The team was VERY experienced, and packed us quickly and efficiently. It's hard to believe that they got everything packed from our 2-bedroom home + garage into the POD. Some sort of crazy magic was done that day. Pablo and team were careful and attentive. He walked me through how to use the ratchet straps, and prepped everything for me to pack away mattresses the next morning - with the exact amount of space necessary left in the POD. Above and Beyond! 10 Stars! Pablo, Eli, Kevin, and Edgar were amazing. They showed up on time and were the most thorough movers I've ever had. They were hired by a 3rd party to shuttle our stuff to an LTL for our out of state move. There was an issue between the 3rd party and LTL. Pablo and team waited 2hrs for resolution to make sure they would load the LTL. They took extra care with some larger plants and a marble table. Beware! Drivers are incompetent and cannot guage whether thier truck can safely manuever on the property. Company was aware that the truck hit and pulled down a comcast cable wire but did not inform the homeowner (confirmed by an employee via a next morning phone call to them). Also did not caution off the area so that any other truck that came by (Fed Ex, Postal Service etc...) would hit the same wire and possibly bring down other electrical wires. Homeowner unaware of the issue until seeing the wire down in the yard. Very, very poor judgement on their part and very poor communication. read more

Move date: October 2010 The guys at Bay Area Moving & Storage are awesome. Starting with Jerry who is very professional, with whom I booked a move and then had to cancel because our daughter arrived a couple of days before the planned move. When I told him I was cancelling, Jerry was super nice and very understanding. He just asked me to call him when I was ready. We finally were ready and yes, we hired them. The three guys (Julio and two others whose name I didnt catch) who came were very professional and took care to do the job well. They wrapped each piece of furniture to make sure they werent scratched during the move. When they put the boxes in the new place, they made sure that the labels faced the right side so I would know what was in the boxes. They were as good natured at the beginning of the move and around the end of move, even though they were moving us from a 3rd floor apartment to a tri-level townhouse. I was so happy with the move the first time that I hired them again to complete my move out of my place (I was moving in two parts because of the new baby). If you are looking for punctual, honest and trustworthy movers, this is the company for you! When it came time to pay there were no "additional" fees. What I had thought would have been a quick move, turned into a crafty Matlock-esque situation. The door way into my new place was 29"... and the fridge 30" the movers removed the door of the fridge and entrance and like magic the fridge was in without a single scratch or smudge on the door frame. Moving my couch in also had similar issues. I know this must have been an easy fix for the movers, but I would have never thought of removing any doors. Instead of having a couch and fridge outside, Bay Area Moving and Storage saved me a great deal of time, back ache and stress from the moving process. read more

WARNING .... I contacted Bay Area Moving & Storage last week and arranged with Juan a pick up for Sunday 1/7/2018. He told me Pablo would come with another man and a box truck. I agreed to his quoted price and we agreed to meet at my place of business in Richmond at 7:30am to move fixtures and product two blocks to set up for a trade show. I called multiple times to confirm and my calls went straight to voice mail ... three days of calls and no response ... and you guessed it, no show. This put me in a terrible position and I had to scramble with family and a pick up truck with multiple trips to get everything done. I would NEVER trust them with anything. Careful, fast and reliable. Jerry's professionalism is only surpassed by the complete and total attention to detail of the entire crew. In our case the crew consisted of Jerry, Adrian, Julio, Ohey and Hector. They arrived at our departure location exactly on time. Five people to load and in some cases pack our truck load of possessions. Much of our furniture is quite old and suffered numerous long distance moves and the consequent damage either by accident or in one cross country move, intentional damage. They packed every item as though it was headed for a museum. We moved from California to Nevada. They promised us they would deliver the following morning at 8:30am. True to their word at 8:30 sharp the truck arrived. The delivery was accomplished by 3 people. They accommodated my changes of where a couple of pieces of furniture were to be placed with gracious and good humor. I have had a nightmare moving experience so feel I am very qualified to recognize superior service and Bay Area Moving certainly supplied that for us. read more

A family member used Bay Area Moving when they relocated and told me about them. I had a very positive experience. Our house was under construction so we needed the contents of our 3 bedroom house packed up and stored for 6 months and then returned upon completion of the construction. First of all, the crew was so friendly and assisted us during the entire process. I think it helped that a lot of the packing of boxes was done and labeled but they had to wrap the big items and a lot of glass and mirrors. They arrived on time and ready to work. 6 months later they came back to unload the pods (with a 2 week notice) and again they were on time and ready to work. You could tell the movers had worked together on jobs as their system of unpacking, removing packing materials, etc. was like clockwork. They did an excellent job of handling the larger appliances and in getting boxes upstairs and downstairs as needed. I am thankful to Juan and his entire crew who were friendly yet professional throughout the entire process. Would definitely recommend. read more

I asked them moving to southern CA few years ago. The service was worst ever. They broke and made big scratches some furniture and to make matters worse they lost some boxes. And they assembled bed again when move in it was really horrible way. I never recommend them to my friend and never ask them moving again! Actually I don't feel like give them even 1 star. Bay Area Moving company is the best! I'm sure you know packing and moving is no fun at all, but Juan has made things so easy for me and my fiancee and the price was right. They were on time and I feel that they went beyond my expectations. I thought they were just going to come and move things as is, but not only did they break everything down, but they also wrapped and paded all 4 of my flat screen tv's, they handled my belongings the way that I would. Once we got to our destination everyting they broke down, they put right back up how it was and where I wanted it. We are so pleased and couldn't have asked for more and definitely feel as if I had gotten my moneys worth. A shame you can't award negative stars. If you like being cursed at, you can proceed with confidence with these ill-mannered movers. This company was used by a kitchen supplier to deliver a bunch of cabinets to my home. They had been paid to move the cabinets into the appropriate rooms, but the first thing they complained about was having to do just that! Among other things, they wanted to leave all the bathroom cabinets in the kitchen! Despite finally accepting that they needed to conduct the delivery in accordance with their contract, they still proceeded to mix up boxes all over the house and complained about having to move them into the right rooms. In some case, they just refused! Eventually the guys doing the move telephoned the husband of the owner. I was hoping he would sort things out. A little naive of me! Unfortunately his red-faced arrival, bristling with anger as he was, only served to pour fuel on the flames. After aggressively demanding that I sign to accept the delivery and being extremely put out when I said I needed to check thoroughly before signing he said "F*** you ***hole" and stormed off.
