If you have roof repair work, let me hopefully save you some time - Ruben at Bay City Roofing is trustworthy, honest, hard working, thorough, communicative, professional, and competitively priced. We just bought a home in the Danville area and the home inspection had some recommended roof repairs and a quote. I competitively bid the job via the Yelp app after inspecting the roof myself and I had 6 roofers come out and provide quotes. It was very evident who was honest and who was not - some recommending replacement of the roof (not even close to needing replacement yet - 10 yrs left). Ruben was by far the most professional, honest and thorough. Ruben met with us as scheduled, explained his findings, and what he proposed to do. He found everything the home inspection did (I intentionally did not share so I could compare), We had some damaged ridge caps, flashing installed incorrectly and vent boots that needed replaced. He identified all of those, and also loose gutter, bad sealing around fire place, and another bad roof section. He had more work identified than the original roof inspection (Roof Doctors) had at a better price. He was able to come out as scheduled, arrived on time, explained what he'd be doing, answered all my questions, and immediately went to work. He finished same day, and also did way more than what was quoted or expected - cleaning out the gutters, painting flashings that he did not replace so they would match the new ones, patching nail holes from the solar contractor had left, and removing an old satellite dish/patching the holes left behind. I would gladly have paid extra and offered to do so. He refused saying he was up there anyway, and it was no big deal to make it right and take care of it. Loved the workmanship using screws instead of nails on the gutters and flashings so they don't back He checks all the boxes. I'll be doing business with him again and recommending to anyone needing roof repairs done. He will have my business when I eventually need to replace my roof. I have to say it took a long time to find Ruben. I wanted the owner to work on my 90 year old Moms house. I had to feel trust in this business come over the phone the first time I spoke with someone . At least some kind of minimal effort to assure me my Mother would feel secure and safe through the process. He showed up, offered options, layed out a realistic timeline, and made a competetive quote. He took care of the permits and inspections, fixed some leaks and cleaned and installed new guards on the gutters all included in the original price. Btw, he didnt mention that was all included! I called Bay City Roofing for an estimate yesterday and Ruben returned my call very promptly, within 30 minutes. I scheduled a next day appointment for today and Ruben stopped by exactly when we said he would. I was expecting him to tell me a needed a new roof as I recently discovered a ceiling leak in an upstairs bathroom. After Ruben checked the roof out he took several photos of a spot with missing flashing in the area almost directly above the ceiling leak. Instead of trying to push a new roof agenda, Ruben offered to repair it right away (today while he's here). Amazing! And the quote was super reasonable. Ruben is an all-around class act. Rain had found its way in between broken and misaligned tiles, seeping through layers of tattered felt underlayment into a bedroom wall. His was the last of the four roofing companies that came out to inspect the damage ... and the best by far. Why? *Ruben was the only one who actually climbed onto the roof to assess not only the two obvious trouble spots but all the tiles. While other estimators guestimated the cost of time and materials from their perch on a ladder, he walked around lifting tiles here and there to get a close-up look. As a result, he also found debris that was obstructing the water flow and tiles that had become dislodged -- potential problems that the competition didn't identify. *He submitted a very detailed and complete estimate that same day. *He returned within 48 hours of the initial inspection to do the repairs. Working alongside his employee, Ruben fixed not only the two primary problems but all the tiles needing attention in just four hours -- a stark contrast from one company that figured the job would take two men three full days to complete. *His invoice was far less than the other bids, one of which topped $9,300. What's more, Ruben cleaned the rain gutters for no extra charge AND threw in a gallon of paint that he left with us after taking the time to match the color with that of the rafters. *Throughout the process, he was happy to offer detailed explanations of his findings and shared multiple photos that he'd taken before, during, and after the job. after being stood up by another company we called Rueben in the middle of the storms because of a small leak. he came out Monday and found the problem. he came back a couple days later to fix the problem his quote was reasonable. Then once in the middle we found dry rot. he ended up with a lot of additional work but still the cost was reasonable i hope to not need to call him again but if i need roofing help, Rueben is the guy to call i highly recommend this business read more

We had a small leak in our garage that showed up during the last storm. I've been trying to get a roofer out for weeks. Lots of people said 'I'll call you' but never did. Ruben from Bay City came out and got up on the roof, made an inspection and figured out it was just some sloppy roofing around the chimney. He gave me a very reasonable quote and fixed it on the spot. He shared everything he was doing, showed me pictures and even gave me some recommendations for future items that don't need work now but that I should pay attention to on the roof. What a Ruben didn't know is that my father-in-law was a roofer for 45 years and I know some of what to look for regarding leaks. Ruben didn't try to upsell me at all. I found Ruben to be honest and efficient with his assessment and repairs. Plus, he saved me $500 because the realtor's roof inspector found a list of things wrong and said they'd fix it all for $950. I looked at the list and thought, that's ridiculous. There's very little there of substance. I found Bay City Roofing and sent Ruben the list of the inspector's findings. Ruben went and looked it all over and said it's nothing with nothing. Easy repairs, two hours. His bill was reasonable at $450. He sent me photos of everything he replaced/repaired. Ruben and his team provide an exceptional service! We woke up a month ago after a crazy rainstorm to find a "Stranger Things"-esque growth on the wall in the hallway, and realized the wall had filled with water and the paint was holding it in. A friend recommended we reach out to Ruben, and he responded immediately and somehow fit us in to their busy schedule of responding to the storm. They were professional and kind, and did a wonderful job of explaining what the issue was and how they could fix it (for a very reasonable price, no less!). I actually understand my roof better now. They also checked out everything else while they were up there, and happily reported that everything looked great - no need to replace the roof yet. We had a severe leak in our dining room that was either due to a window with damaged wood framing or our roof. Ruben came out and inspected the damage from the inside and after checking our roof confirmed that that a section of our roof needed to be repaired. He provided pictures of the roof section that needed to be fixed and explained in great detail what needed to be done. We had previously received another quote from a different roofer and Ruben's was more reasonable. He fixed our roof section that day and he also inspected the rest of our roof and gutters to see if there were any other problems that should be addressed. After obtaining a few estimates for our roof we accepted Ruben's offer. He came to our home on a recent Monday to assess the damage. Came back on Wednesday and repaired our roof in 3 hours time. Ruben discovered that there was water/weather damage under the tiles which caused a major leak. As you know a huge rainstorm came in on Thursday.
