Got it go for a lunch at work. Tasted alright and was super greasy but the portion size for what you pay for is spot on, so that was nice to see.

Great spot to visit if you're near the waterfront. They have happy hour available during the week for discounted drinks & apps. Highly recommend getting Bill's fried rice which is a combo of shrimp, beef and chicken. Also like the potstickers. Service is friendly. Good amount of food for the price you pay. Indoor seating available as well as outdoor on a dock. If you're sensitive to motion, probably don't recommend sitting there since it can pick up when the ferry comes in.

This is the kind of place you walk by and wonder if it's worth giving a shot and I can confidently say it absolutely is. The service was excellent, even though I ordered online, and the food came out fresh and hot. The veggie rolls were a bit mild in flavor, but I still enjoyed how crispy they were. The veggie noodles were great and packed with plenty of cut vegetables. Prices are very reasonable for the area. Highly recommend stopping by for drinks by the water if you get the chance, definitely worth going inside.

Absolutely love this local gem. The family that runs it is incredibly kind and genuinely welcoming--you can feel the care they put into both the food and the experience the moment you walk in. They have such great energy and really make you feel at home. I now work at Mare Island and this was the first closest thing we found. It's about 3 miles from my work so it's a good spot and it's right in the water. This is a Japanese restaurant that serves a few Filipino food items. Of course that's what me and my co-workers ordered. We got the Tapsilog, Tosilog, and Bangalore. These are famous staple Filipino breakfast: it always includes garlic fried rice, meat protein and eggs. I was surprised and happy at the same time that they served Filipino food here. The serving is pretty big and it tasted delicious. The lady that served us was very nice. The ambiance is beautiful obviously m. It's overlooking the water and boats passing by. The price is not too bad. I spent less than $15 for my meal. Note: Great parking lot.

Service was great and the ambience was nice. They put the 49ers game on, which we really appreciated, and they had two screens showing the game. The bartender was very attentive and courteous throughout our visit. We ordered the garlic noodles with shrimp, Bob's fried rice, potstickers, clam chowder in a bread bowl, and the chicken teriyaki wings. The garlic noodles with shrimp were really flavorful, and the fried rice was good as well. The potstickers were perfectly crispy and came with a ginger dipping sauce that was amazing. The clam chowder in the bread bowl was also very good and comforting. They only had two wing flavors available--plain or teriyaki. We usually like spicier wings and prefer them extra saucy, but the teriyaki wings were really good. They were nice and crunchy, crispy, and had just the right amount of sauce, not too much, but still flavorful, even for someone who loves saucy wings. The sunset view was beautiful. The place is small and probably fits about 20 people, but it wasn't packed when we went. I enjoyed my Hennessy, and honestly, everything on the menu was good and tasteful. Definitely looking forward to coming back again.

If I could give this a 3.5 I would, but 1/2s aren't possible so I rounded up. I've been wanting to visit this place since I walked by it a few months ago. Location is top. I mean.... Hibachi with a waterfront view?! The view gets 5, the ambiance gets 4.5 (super cute). The menu is super limited, but pricing is decent and the food is good.

This is a wonderful place if you ever just want to hang out and watch the sunset. Everyone that works here is like family and if you've been here once they will always say hi to you when you come in. When it comes to the food it is amazing. I like any type of seafood and I love the garlic butter here. To top it off with a full bar or a nice glass of wine. They also have happy hour from 3:00 to 6:00 Monday through Friday,so don't miss it. Happy hour is drinks and food. Whether you like to sit inside or outside it doesn't matter I guess it just depends on the weather. Don't forget, karaoke is on Thursday nights at 5:30 to 8:30. Always lots of fun.

A hidden gem on Vallejo's waterfront. Great, attentive service from the moment we walked in until we left. Nice waterfront view and delicious food. While the place is small, there is plenty of outdoor seating available. The chicken potstickers and salmon hibachi plates were very flavorful. The lemon drops were good as well. I would definitely come back to try other options.

First/last time at this place. Looked promising from the outside. Ordered food and drinks at the bar. Outdoor seating on the dock is pleasant-ish. When the boats and ferry go by the thing really gets moving. Ordered a chicken (grilled?) hibachi bento box w plain rice. And an order of fish and chips a beer and a Mai tai. Drinks fine. After 15 min or so outside the server comes to say they're out of fish and chips. Substituted a "steak" bento box as it's the same price $20 vs $19.99. I'm going to assume that this place is still in business for the bar and the view of the lovely San Pablo bay. $60 for two meager bentos and a beer and cocktail. Nah. Judging by the bentos I'm going assume the fish and chips are either the best thing (sold out) or about as appetizing as the sad bento.

Cute and cozy little spot on the water. The owners are so nice and friendly. The food was pretty good. Fried shrimps we're not what I had seen from older reviews, they are just the cheap freezer ones now. The trio box was great and had enough to feed 2 people. We got a margarita that was waaaay over priced. The ambiance is sailor rustic hole in the wall. But all in all, glad we stopped in for dinner. Would recommend to others. read more

So, my family missed our ferry for a trip to SF and decided to look for something on the waterfront to eat while we waited for the next ferry. We walked a little bit to try out restaurants I had heard of but most of them didn't have enough variety or they weren't open. We are this shack right on the water, and let me tell you that looks can be deceiving. We saw they served Hibachi, which we all enjoy, but we weren't sure enough to try it out. We saw a small group on the deck behind the restaurant and asked them how the food was. They told us the food was incredible, and one of the group said it was their first time. We went inside and ordered... The food was INCREDIBLE. So good, in fact, that I felt bad that more people in Vallejo didn't know about this spot. We will definitely be back. I would have posted pics of the food, BUT...it was so good I didn't want to stop eating. On par with Benihana's and Kimono's. A little cheaper. More relaxed atmosphere. I love Bay Hibachi Express! The food is great (my favorites are the Garlic Chicken Noodles and the Chicken Fried rice). They have a nice variety of dishes, so there's something for everyone. The service is outside! My family does take-out from Bay Hibachi Express, and they always answer the phone with a warm greeting. They are thorough in taking the order, and they end the call with an equally warm goodbye. It is a small restaurant, but it feels cozy, not crowded. We have been there for Karaoke, and we had so much fun! We will definitely be back for more! read more

Probably the worst hibachi iv had ever. I'm picky when it comes to food but this was more of a Thai or Filipino type style especially the fried rice. Not your normal sushi/hibachi type place taste. Portions were very small, meat over cooked...didn't give us any sauces but I spent well over $100 there on dinner take out. Very disappointed because the place is perfect as far as location goes...if the food was better I'd be there often :( read more

Delicious food and awesome service! What more could you ask for? My team and I participated in the Whaleboat Regatta at Waterfront Weekend this past Saturday and Sunday and we boarded our boats at the dock here at what used to be Vik's Wheelhouse. Romeo and Nadine were super friendly! In a time where good customer service is hard to find, they delivered! We didn't get a chance to eat on Saturday but we came back on Sunday. Wife and I ordered the shrimp entre. The rice, shrimp and vegetables were delicious! Just like a teppanyaki place but without the show and much quicker! I also ordered fries, calamari rings and mozzarella sticks for the kids. They devoured it! It was hot fresh and tasty. This place was so awesome, we came back tonight, Wednesday! Tonight we had the shrimp fried rice. My friends got the fish and chips, wings, and my buddy got the steak and chicken combo. Not a piece of food left to toss out or take home. It was great! Great views of the waterfront, delicious food and drinks, awesome customer service and it's a local mom n pop spot! Support local, support Vallejo and come out and support Bay Hibachi Express! I am so glad we stumbled onto this place. The fish and chips were PERFECT. And that dish is a hit or miss. I find it's mostly alright, and definitely edible since fried... but this place got every aspect, batter flavor and crispness, fish flavor and cooked to perfection, perfect balance of perfectly cooked fish and perfectly fried batter, right. So good. And lemme tell you about the calamari... that basket looked sooo good when it came out. Beautifully fried to perfection, perfect crispness. And the texture and flavor were also spot on! I was very happy. My apologies, as I'm not someone who typically snaps photos of my food (I know, I know, very un-Yelp of me), so you'll have to take my word for it. Also, just great atmosphere. They didn't change a thing from the pervious Wagon Wheel decor. And it's right on the water. Lots to love. I will be back. read more

Hibachi style dinner with no frills but oh so tasty. The bento box presentation looks a little generic, but don't let the looks fool you (with "Express" in their name with good reason). I got the salmon entree with the fried rice upgrade (a must). Hubby got the chicken/shrimp combo entree. Both were delectable. I'm not usually big on sauces but whatever the two homemade sauces they give you (one spicy, one sour/salty with a touch of sweetness idk) was also very good. My only qualm is I didn't order enough food and left wanting more. Also - you can't beat the location with a perfect view of the water as you enjoy this delicious garlic buttery meal. read more

Bay hibachi is the spot to sip a tropical cocktail and watch a beautiful sunset. Friendly service, lumpia and chicken wings with hibachi grill options. The Vallejo waterfront is lucky to have a tiki style funky sit down with a floating bar outside option. Support local businesses people. read more

Location is the Vics Wheel House and still has old signs up inside and outside. Old signs and furniture piled in corner.They need to make this their own because it looks like pop up restaurant thats going to be gone in a few days. The food was good I will return for spam fried rice. Clean the place up and get rid of Vics old stuff and alcohol that you don't serve. read more

Food was delicious ! I will admit the shrimp needs a little more cleaning before cooking as there was a little poop still in my shrimp but overall the food was yummy ! I would never have walked in this restaurant based on the outside, but my brother goes regularly so I finally tried it with my son. We both thoroughly enjoyed our food. Went back again with my brother and food and service was excellent both times. Just wish the dining area was a bit more updated, but that's part of the charm, I guess. The service and the food are horrible! The Water location is the only nice thing about this place other than that do not waste your time. They appear to be new to owning a restaurant because everything was weird for example we ate there and had to get our own water at a self serve water station for the prices that was unacceptable and again I can't stress how rude and mean they are! Instead, he laughed and sarcastically asked if he should call the police. There was no apology, no attempt to handle the situation professionally, and no concern for the fact that a customer had just verbally attacked a baby. What made the situation even more disturbing was that another couple nearby overheard everything and complained to the server, questioning why that man was still being allowed to remain and receive service after speaking to a child that way. Even other customers recognized how inappropriate the behavior was. I understand that not everyone enjoys being around children, but no parent should be treated this way, and no business owner should laugh off behavior like this. A restaurant's response to unacceptable conduct says a lot about its values, and this experience made it clear that customer respect is not a priority here. Because of how this situation was handled, I will never return and cannot recommend supporting this business
