The food was tasty. Their chicken 65 was fried to perfection and tasted appetizing. Their chicken tikka masala was great too. The spice levels were optimal and texture looked great. Naan was good and not chewy. Biryani was ok. It paled compared to their other food items. But rest of the stuff was good. Their palak paneer was delectable. Paneer was properly mixed with palak. Yeah. We have been regulars for years, through all the ownership changes. Fortunately, the food has stayed true to form and quite good. Our son moved to LA, and he has been hard pressed to find Indian food as good as Bay Leaf. We especially like chicken tikka masala, tandoori chicken, Benghan bharta and samosas. We wish the papadum was spicy, but it's fine. The naan is good - soft and flavorful. They occasionally mess up to go orders but are good at correcting when told. Lots to like. read more

Nice!! I was really enjoying the food in the Bay leaf restaurant for a while. I stopped going very recently as management staffs are very rude as they are not entertaining to allow us to give order 30 min before the closing Time. They are literally not welcoming us and said that don't come here again. As a Customer it was so embarrassing me personally. read more

While the food was good, my takeout order took 90 minutes. This was about an hour longer than their system said it would take. When you have lots of hungry bodies waiting on the food, it's hard to give a better rating. The naan was good, not great. read more

Definitely the worse place to dine in! A group of my friends and I wanted to try out Indian food and the food and service was HORRIBLE! Our server provided the worse service... Took our order, provided us with the wrong orders, never checked up on us other then when it was time to pay for our food. The server literally waited (stranded their waiting for us to hand him our credit card) for us to pay for the food when the check wasn't even presented. I had to ask for a copy of our bill because we wanted to split up the cost within a group of our friends. I was informed by the server that he cannot print one out until the food was paid for. Received the check and they charged us service charge and tip! We get that since our party was 6 or more and we don't mind pay for the service but they included TIP! We then asked for our tip to be removed since we were already charged a service charge and they said they couldn't. They offered to make a dish for us in place of the refund and we declined! Why? The group was not fond of the food nor the service. After making a fuss about our refund the owner said they refund us and NEVER did! Don't recommend this place to anyone not sure how this place was ever rated 4 stars! What a joke! read more

We love Indian food. Its one of our favorites although we have probably said that about a number of foods. The first time I tried Bay Leaf Indian was at a Yelp event a while back at Gogi Bros in Eden Prairie. Thanks Yelp! I noticed that there was this Indian restaurant a few doors down so after my meal I went to pay a visit. Yes I know, who does that? I figured that since I was in the area this would be a good opportunity to try it and bring some home for the family. We really enjoyed it. Not too long after that I noticed that Bay Leaf was opening a 2nd location right across the street from my office. Ruh Roh. Today I ventured over to try their lunch buffet. I am usually not a big fan of buffets however Bay Leaf was much different. Bay Leaf provides an outstanding selection for their buffet! They have different curries, soup, a few different rice options, vegetarian and meat options as well as an appetizer and dessert. I was greeted right away by a nice lady who lead me to my table and even pulled out my chair for me. (Nice touch) I went through two full plates both included one of my favs Butter Chicken. I also tried Chicken 65 which was like Tandoori chicken but with more spice. The noodle lover in me enjoyed the Hakka noodles. The Asian part of me loved all the rice options. The same lady that greeted me also was seen explaining to other customers which options were gluten free and vegetarian. Honestly I didn't recognize or understand some of the labels but it looked good so I was going to try it, My kind of food adventure. I enjoyed all the food I tried and everything at the buffet was nice and hot. I'm sure I'll be back here more times than I should and I'll be sure to bring the family with me too. read more

I love Indian food, so I was excited to come to Bay Leaf. I liked the menu choices and we decided on char grilled chicken and paneer Tikka masala. They were super busy with the phone and walk ins picking up to go orders, so we sat and sat and waited forEVER to have our order taken. Then we waited for 45 minutes for our food...getting hungrier and hungrier...when it finally came out it smelled good, but it went to the wrong table. Total disappointment. Of course they started eating it, assuming it was theirs. There were only two tables of guests. They had a 50-50 shot. So after waiting 45 minutes and then having our food given to someone else, we left, hungry and disappointed. We will not be back. They should get rid of the dining room altogether and just do take out. read more

The hubby and I tried their weekend buffet for the first time today and it was absolutely delicious! The appetizer selection was very nice and had a good variety. There was so much to eat I could barely get to the main dishes. The spices were good but not overpowering. I appreciated that there was tea and butter milk, really helped bring the whole meal together. Keep up the good work guys! Of late I have realized timing is really important to get better food at the buffet. The last time I was there about approximately 1pm and the food was mostly cold. The servers were hardly attentive, not refilling the dishes that were running low. This last experience left me not wanting to go back. The service definitely needs more work. read more

Never get bored to be back to this place. After to marathons visits to Eden Prairie we decided to come here for dinner on valentines day. The ambiance felt settling and vibrant with cool bollywood songs playing in background. We were greeted and served water as soon as we came, even though the place was quiet busy. We ordered paneer tikka (tandoor), chicken hakka noodles, chole bature and dosa. Everything was exceptional. Paneer was soft and flavorful served with lot of veggies. Chole bature was the best always. And chicken noodles cant get any more awesome. Hmmm! I ran out of words to tell how fantastic dosa was. Overall its a must visit Indian restaurant in twin cities. I have been here multiple times, and the food never disappoints.. However, I am going to comment about the service. The service is fast, but my water was never refilled until I spoke up about it. Additionally, when I was ordering my food, I felt extremely judged by the server's comments. I am not too adventurous when it comes to food, so I like to keep it safe. I ordered the most common and known foods to me, and the server was saying things like "Are you sure you don't want to try something different?" or "How about you try this dish instead of what you ordered?" I took her recommendation, and the dish wasn't my cup of tea. When I was paying, she said something like "Oh wasn't that dish so much better than what you originally wanted to order?" Arrived at 1:30 for lunch buffet. Host rudely said, we close in half an hour. I asked for hot chai tea and he pointed to a carafe by buffet. I went to get a cup and carafe was empty. This is one of the best Indian buffets in the Twin Cities. Wide selection of both vegetarian and meat based entree items. Service is great. The restaurant is very clean too. Update! My brother and I tried the food last week 11/11. Excellent host! 5/5 for service. 3/5 for food. The only reason I am holding back from giving your food a 4/5 (which I consider a wow!) is because I also went to India Palace on Saturday 11/16. And Wow! food was authentic North Indian. Your Food was hot. Samabar was fine. Gulab Jamun was excellent! Better than India Palace. If I remember right the mutton curry at the Eden Prairie Bay Leaf I tasted was one of the most authentic South Indian mutton curries I've tried outside of India. In the Twin Cities we lack authentic south Indian restaurants. Bay leaf should try and do more of South Indian! Wow! Delicious food here. I tried something other than the basic tikka masala or butter chicken and was not at all disappointed! I ordered the Chettinad and it was so good! I took off one start for the mismatched online prices. On the digital menu the prices are $1-2 dollars less than when you are placing an order on their website. If you're ordering on a third party site they are ANOTHER price all together. Please update your pricing to be consistent! read more

We went just to taste the seasonal Dish Haleem. When it was served it looked authentic garnished with fried onions and cashews but tastes mediocre. The Haleem standards were not upto the mark. It felt more like a curry but if you have a craving for Haleem then give it a try. read more

Best Indian food I've ever had! So many selections that change on a daily basis, so you never run out of new dishes to try! The buffet is such a bang for your buck! The food is always fresh, there's always a soup, a fresh pot of tea or coffee, salad with multiple homemade dressings, and desserts! Not to mention the fresh naan bread that is constantly being put out. The family that runs this place are Eagan locals and super sweet. They are always thankful when you stop in. Bay Leaf has been our go to for Indian because of the location and because its so affordable for the portion size. We ALWAYS order the same things because that's all we know but we are completely fine with that. Our order always consists of garlic naan, spicy lamb curry and spicy boneless chicken biryani. I work with a guy from India and this his favorite Indian restaurant in the Twin Cities. It's my favorite, too. The lunch buffet is top notch. Like many other ethnic restaurants, some of the foods are authentic and some (such as Chicken 65) are American concoctions. The service is informal and friendly.
