Yesterday morning first thing Boden tech showed up, quickly diagnosed the issue and let us know he'd do everything possible to get the replacement part asap. I thought asap would mean a few days, BUT he took the time during a very busy day to find what we needed from a distributor that had just one left, had it overnighted and came back today to install the new fan motor. I know very little about HVAC as this is my husband's domain (he couldn't be here) and everything that was being done was explained with patience and professionalism. As good as they may be, I hope you don't need Hydrotech. Needing their services can only mean you…read morehave problems. I've got problems, explaining why I've twice used the services of Hydrotech. The first time was to get a quote on replacing my home's boiler. The owner, Denis, was easy to reach, came out when he said he would, and was prompt in getting me a verbal and written quote for the job. His quote was neither the highest nor the lowest and I wound up going with another firm's bid. More recently I hired Hydrotech to repair a leak in my radiant heat system. Scheduling took a little back and forth but once I was able to get an appointment they arrived on time and set out to do what was required. When you schedule leak repair work you're told that Hydrotech won't proceed if there's asbestos (understandable, but who knows if they have it?). That's something to know and may factor into any decision of how you wish to proceed. (The other company I contacted never mentioned this at all and I'm not certain which is more concerning). Anyhow, if you need a boiler replacement or repair or, God forbid, to fix a leak in your radiant heat system it's good to know of Hydrotech. Even though they're Hercules-based and I'm in Marin, this proved to be no issue on either occasion. The people who work on all aspects of radiant heat systems are few and far between, some so booked up that they won't even put you on their already crammed schedule. Adding Hydrotech to your arsenal of solutions to whatever radiant heat problems are bound to dog you is a smart idea.

I called Dave on a Friday around 2pm to discuss ducting replacement in my crawlspace. I had flex…read moreducting installed there by another Novato HVAC contractor during a furnace/central AC installation. I wasn't happy with the other contractor given they knew I have a shared crawlspace and keeping rodents out of it is a losing battle. Regardless, the contractor recommended flex duct for better insulation and noise control. The contractor said I didn't really need to worry about rodents because they probably couldn't jump and reach the ducting. So, that contractor removed my perfectly good metal ducts (rodent-proof) and installed flex ducts. My mistake, it was a few thousand dollar lesson learned. Rodents ended up chewing several holes through and into the flex ducts (repeatedly), camping out inside my ducts. Yuck. That's why I called Raven... So, Dave was at my place about an hour after I called him that Friday. He had a quote to me for insulated metal ducts about an hour later. The price was very fair for the job and I knew Dave came recommended by another contractor whom I trust. Given that, I agreed to the price and work. Dave's work crew was at my place the following Monday to install the ducting. Dave's four man work crew: Jacques, Isaac, Josh and Lucas is awesome. They arrived early, performed their work well and professionally. They were genuinely nice folks and communicative during my ducting installation. Given my experience I will definitely be using and recommending Raven's services in the future. Thanks Dave, Jacques, Isaac and Josh!
