Perfect spot before or after your flight. The views are unbelievable. Four of us came here for drinks after landing back in San Diego and the bartender was fantastic. Our drinks were strong, the place was very clean, and an easy going atmosphere. Had we stayed longer we probably would've grabbed some takeaway food, everything looked fresh. The BTL really surprised! Yes, it's a hotel restaurant but do NOT let that stop you. We had a few meals there while staying at the hotel. The service was warm and friendly and prompt, especially Arturo. The setting is lovely - lots of big windows and light, views of the bay and a welcoming patio with fire pits. On top of it all, the food is delicious and creative. We tried different dishes every day and each was yummy! Notable were the breakfast burrito and the oatmeal with caramelized bananas. I'm not a frequent reviewer but I had to shout out this time. The BTL's rating has suffered from some outdated reviews. Pay attention to the more recent ones and you won't regret it. read more

No one answers the phone either .. and after an hour of trying to get through I went to the restaurant only to be greeted with an attitude when I asked why no one has bothered to answer the phone. Mind you the bar was not busy at all at, I think there were maybe 3 people in the whole place at 3pm .. no explanation was given .. I proceded to order two appetizers, the guacamole app and the quesadilla app the total came to $38.00 that's including an airline employee discount and tip. SMH I had them add shrimp to the quesadilla in which only three pieces of shrimp was added lol not worth the extra pay !! Two days later and while checking my bank balance I noticed that I was charged a total of $45 dollars instead of the $38 I signed on my bill. Wish me luck .. I was in town for conference. The Sheraton is where I stayed for a week. Bay Tower Lounge has a way of making you feel rich, making you feel: "Royal" (by Lorde) I'll let my pics do the talking for me on this one. But I must add, food and beer is very delicious, customer service is excellent and they keep a very clean establishment. Eat outside and enjoy the spectacular view of the harbor! (If you stay @ the Sheraton, do not get room service. You will be rewarded with $5 vouchers per day you do not get service and you can apply it to food and beverage @ BTL. I saved 4 vouchers and the breakfast buffet costs me $6. The price w/o the vouchers: $27.) One star subtraction for not having any form of a continental breakfast for Sheraton guests. read more

As you can expect from any hotel, the bill will be hefty.. but the food is good and the beer list is great! The Parmesan Truffle Tater Tots were delicious and crunchy. I love ketchup but I didn't use any of the spicy ketchup because it overwhelmed the truffle. My fiancé ended up using it on his fish and chips, which he enjoyed. Now, they have a short tap list but it is mostly local beers. I had a wonderful Gose from Modern Times and I think it is now one of my favourite sours. Fruitland with passionfruit and guava, where you at?? Sometimes you are 'trapped' at the hotel and you need a place like this. And I assure you, it will get the job done. read more

This place is beautiful! It's a nice chill place to sit down. The food though... My entrée was the blackened Mahi. This was probably the driest fish I've had this whole trip! It was not seasoned well and was definitely overcooked. Also the bun was just an odd flavor with the fish. I think it was brioche and the flavors overall didn't complement each other well. I also had the ceviche and pita with hummus. These were good... With the quesadillas. The guacamole was pretty standard but tasted store bought and not fresh. Definitely not chunky. After reading the reviews I was skeptical to try this place. I am staying the night at the hotel with my girlfriend and we didn't feel like driving into town. We walked in and we were immediately greeted and seated. We were offered drinks and got them a couple minutes later. We then ordered the buffalo wings as an appetizer and the fish and chips and the cheese burger for dinner. I was please with the amount of buffalo wings and they were a little spicy for me but still good. After a few minutes of getting the wings we got our meals. After getting the burger and fish and chips I was incredibly surprised how delicious they were. Our drinks were topped off frequently and I was incredibly surprised by the bad reviews. Food is beyond terrible. ---Seafood salad: Hahahahhaa....Seafood as they throw 3 boiled shrimp from the freezer on a half avocado and put some salad leaves under without much sauce. Did the chef use to work for hospitals? ---Roasted chicken sandwich: Chicken meat have a powdery texture and it tasted bitter. It's kinda strange, because there are only 3 charcoal burn marks on this entire piece of white breast meat, yes they didn't cut it. but the entire chicken tasted bitter. The bacon will break your tooth and they use sliced bread for burgers. This is not a sandwich in the first place. The only edible thing on this plate is the fries. ---Fried chicken sandwich comes in croissant. They cut the croissant in half and put the fried chicken inside. My friend also finished the fries and left more than half fried chicken on the table, He said the chicken is old and chewy. ---Fish and chips should be renamed as bricks and fries. The dish is giant, the fish is coated in a super thick layer flour and it looks square, you can use that thing to injure people. My friend didn't touch much of the food. We came to the Bay Tower Lounge for lunch on the day we arrived. We were hungry and needed to find a gluten-free option. The menu had several items with a GF logo next to them, so we felt pretty good. Service was slow, both to get seated and for the food to come out, even though the place wasn't busy, which is the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5. We decided to make our own tapas-style lunch. We got two appetizers - shrimp cocktail and steak skewers - a salad (kale with goat cheese) and a side of brussels sprouts with pancetta. July 16, 2019 my wife and I took a walk of Harbor Island and decided to stop in at the BTL for lunch. It's a nice place, neat and clean, bright and airy, with seating inside and out. Since we had our wedding reception here 23 years ago, we thought we would come in and reminisce. We were promptly seated and our waiter Alberto got us some beers. We placed our lunch order of fish tacos and a veggie burger. What seemed like 30 minutes went by, it could've been 15 (much too long...is the point) before our food came out, and the tacos were fried, and cold ! My veggie burger came out fine but the salad that came with it had lettuce that was wilting and dry, must've been in the fridge for 2-3 days ! I would give the place 5 stars for ambiance, but the food only 2 stars because what is very tasty came out cold and wilted. No excuse. The place has potential but it did not produce for us. Hopefully we'll be back again in another 23 years ? Sooner if it gets more 5 star reviews in the future. read more

Typical expensive hotel breakfast but crap quality. You'd think it would be hard to screw up oatmeal but they did as it was cold and mushy. Coffee gets cold since they leave in thin open caraffe. Service is horrible to top it off. SPG going downhill these days overall as hotel is dirty as well. read more
