Slept on Hotel bar and restaurant that doesn't feel or taste like a hotel bar and restaurant. Plenty of TVs, reasonably priced menu with more options, no bland food, and more. Love the gaslit fireplace patio, with activities surrounding the gated pool. Staff is friendly and knows the area. You can be a local in here without being a guest. No need to pay the inflated prices at the tourist traps nearby. Connected to the legendary Point Loma Cafe, so you know the food is solid. read more

This hotel bar:restaurant has surprisingly good food. The fire tables outside made for a lovely evening with colleagues at the end of a long weekend seminar. While my salmon was def overcooked (see pic) it was still tasty and the service was friendly. My salad was super fresh and tasty also. read more

The establishment has to be one most misunderstood Patio dining/ Sports Bar I've been to. Service was the best anywhere I've been to in Pt. Loma vicinity, located right Behind Point Loma Cafe, on North Harbor Dr. Extensive menu for a sports bar, they told me that the kitchen is open till 10 PM. But near closing time they will make the food to go. Why five stars? It's not very common for hotels that have a restaurant/bar at the facility now day's, so if your travel weary there's this facility that has an absolutely beautiful patio to enjoy your meal and cocktails at. I can't comment on all the food but they made the Cobb salad the way I like it . My friend ordered the pork ribs they were good but in my experience there not winning any awards. I'll be looking into staying at this property's hotel in the future for the above convenience, when flying or long range fishing out of San Diego. It's also Adjacent to Ace long term parking lot that's $12 a day, way cheaper then many lots. Enjoy read more

We were staying at the Holiday Inn Bayside. The on-site restaurant/bar is Bayside Bar. We decided to stop in for an after dinner night-cap prior to heading back to our room. First off, Bayside needs to embrace the hard seltzers. They are all the rage right now and Becky is on that bandwagon. She would have really enjoyed an Ashland on tap or even a can of White Claw or Truly. She settled for a light beer. Minus one star. Outside of the lack of seltzers we really enjoyed Bayside Bar. There was plenty of seating indoors and the outdoor patio seating was fantastic. We were with another couple and we found a great table with a firepit. It was perfect for a chilly night. The bartender and staff were friendly and engaging. The prices for a hotel bar were not too horrible. If we stay at the Holiday Inn Bayside again, we'd return to the Bayside Bar for sure. read more

Service is great but the food not so good. We had the beef pie, carne asada, stir fry. All dishes were horrible. Someone said it's a hidden spot..... well it's not. It's the hotel restaurant. The same person that reviewed del taco said this was a hidden gem. Maybe other dishes are good but we didn't like it. I do recommend the breakfast at the cafe. It's was delicious and big portions. Service is great there too. read more

Had an opportunity to visit Bayside Bar in mid December. I would recommend it on several accounts. The food was delish and the outdoor seating very comfortable - right on the other side of the pool. The service was exceptional. Eric - our server went above and beyond to make sure we had all that we needed despite the fact that someone had called out sick, leaving him to cover all of the tables. His personableness made us feel at home. A great place for those staying at the Holiday Inn as well as those living in San Diego. Will visit again - thank you Eric and hats off to the chef! read more

The food is spectacular, the service wasn't so great. I believe the guys name is Eric he was terrible to staff and would ignore tables. If he's a manager he shouldn't be. I believe Ole and Sara the bartender are the people who attended guest and they were spectacular. I hope the next time I stay I get their shifts and not Eric. Other than that food there is off the wall amazing. read more

This restaurant was among the first few results when searching for a kid friendly place in central San Diego. I have to say they fully delivered on that part - lots of space, comfortable seating, kid's menu, friendly and helpful service staff. So if you're looking to dine with young children, this is a good place. The staff were friendly, but super slow. I picked the lobster pasta, which tasted flat and one dimensional and the only flavor was salt. Lobster pieces were overcooked and even though the pasta was cooked al dente, that alone couldn't carry the dish and at just under $40 it was just poor value. If you find yourself near Liberty Station, or west Harbor Dr. and looking for a break from the crowds, look no further than this little gem. Situated behind the Cafe on Harbor Drive at the Holiday Inn. You can sit in a comfortable dining area or out on the patio around the fire pits. Horrible service. Point Loma Cafe is closed at night. Traffic is instead diverted to Bay Side Bar. We ordered to go and it took 1 hour to get the food. We waited for the food, the waiter kept ignoring us. They waited on another table who got there later than us. There was another table who came earlier than the family who got serviced first. The staff pick and choose who to service first. Poor management. read more

We had planned to dine at the cafe, but we were a little early and confused by the "closed" sign until just after 5pm when we strolled into the bar. They explained that the regular menu would be offered and our t mobile discount would be honored. Happy Hour is from 5-7:30 and they do offer apps and have a rotating HH menu. Craft pints were $5. We ordered the sesame crusted salmon and shrimp with tortellini in cream sauce. The fish was well cooked and both presentations and execution was excellent. I think next time we'll visit for HH and split a sandwich or another dish along with the HH apps and featured menu items. read more

This review is not based on food or drinks since we did not get a chance. A friend & I saw a picture of fish tacos in the elevator & it made us wanted some. We agreed to quickly put our bags in our rooms & dash over since there was about 20mins left til closing. Walked in & the bartender said he already made last call. It's all good - we just wanted to order food. "Only take out". That's fine by us. Took him a few minutes to hand us the menu as we stood there. Then he said the kitchen is closing& to hurry up & order. Normally, all that would be cool, but it was with the tone & attitude the way he said it. I understand it's late & you want to go home, but dude, there's still like 10 people sitting around nursing their drinks & what not. We decided it was best to just let him finish up his deal so he can head on home... he definitely needed to chill! read more

So I found this place by sheer happenstance. Came here on a work trip and flew in on a Sunday…read moreafternoon when I really just wanted to watch my Redskins play on Sunday Night Football. Found out there's actually a Redskins watch party at this place called Winston in Ocean Beach really other side of America and there's a group of Redskin fans signed me up. These are my people here's what Winston's had to offer: Ambience: literally a dive bar in the middle of Ocean Beach security and everything. Guess they do a lot of events here live music parties, etc. actually quite a cool freaking place. Service: fast friendly and fun not only because I was here for the game but because they decorated up for the Redskins and literally had like 40 to 50 Redskins fans. Seems like they do a lot of live events and music which is super cool and I'm sure they do a great job as my service was fantastic. Food: I ordered a pizza. Some other guys had nachos. Everything looked good. My pizza was actually pretty good for a dive bar. Beer was cold. Tasty had some local flavor added in. It's not a Michelin restaurant but for a game night perfect. The summit all up I had a fantastic time. Parking is a nightmare down in Ocean Beach, but you know what it's a small price to pay for having a great couple hours watching a team celebrating with others that love the same team singing the same songs I eat the best fight song in NFL and doing it on the beach in California. I don't think it gets much better than that. Thanks for a great time Winston's hope to see you again. Keep munching, and HTTR!!!

This spot has both and more. I bring every single person who hasn't been here or heard of it and make them a lifer. Hands down one of my favorite places to eat some of the absolute best food and best cocktails with always nice staff. It can get super crowded so pick your time to attend wisely, however even when they're slammed they manage to go around and check on you. This is a quick service restaurant with a bar so to have someone come around is pretty rad. Fun games, clean restrooms, somewhat decent parking. Don't. Change. A. Single. Thing. Ever!!!

adding another review...brought the husband back to experience Ponyboy at golden hour…read more we literally got almost everything on the golden hour menu. here's the list food (half off during happy hour) brussels sliders chips w/ pickle dip cornbread w/ butter Birthday (comp treat) birthday banana split drinks...(not on happy hour) bubblegum margarita root beer flip each and every item was over the top amazing! we started with the chips and pickle dip...i had to force myself to stop eating so i wouldn't fill up brussels and sliders came next then the cornbread. the sliders have sliced beef and horseradish...so yum!!! brussels were flavorful and not too wet (love!) cornbread...oh that cornbread! so delicious served in a cast iron dish with butter in the shape of corn on the cob. the butter was drizzled with honey ...so damn good! i had the bubble gum marg previously and loved it...i know it sounds odd but try it! then there is the root beer flip...it tasted just like a rootbeer float...its the best drink ever!!! looking forward to a return visit ASAP

Happy Hour (starts at 4) had an amazing selection…read more These were by far the freshest Oysters I've had EVER in any restaurant, no grit no odd aftertaste was pleasantly surprised Another noteworthy dish was the pickle dip was trying not to eat it by the spoonful lol The Service was great everyone made us feel at home The vintage decor was classic and lovely..the ambience reminded me of a diner scene in a Quentin Tarantino movie and I friggin loved that ! I also observed that there were alot of reserved signs placed on the tables pool-side so this would be a cool date night/ girls night out place .. I also saw there was a large projector screen so I'd love to do more research about that since it peaked my curiosity.. The only thing that would worry me next time around is parking but if you leave early enough to make happy hour on time/plan it out I'm sure things would run smoothly We willl definitely be back!!

Not alot of seating but also depends what time of the day your down here especially on the weekend. All the bartenders I've gotten here overall are pretty pleasant. Place is decently clean inside but place itself is a tad run down but still a spot to hang out. What I'm not a fan of is sometimes you'll get a normal size glass depending on the bartender and other times you'll get a small glass which looks like a shot glass and all I'm saying is if am paying full price for a drink i'd like a regular glass not my drink in a shot looking glass.
