For breakfast: French toast For lunch: Asian salad with shrimp Everything on the menu is amazing. Food is presented great. Staff is wonderful and attentive. The place got a face lift which modernized it with calm blue accent walls., fresh decorations, and great music! Oh, and the menu went through a face-lift as well offering a lot of great new options. Jesus was my waiter- such a sweetheart. And Manager, Daniel came to check in with me. Had very pleasant conversation with him. Will absolutely be coming back

We ordered the Grande Breakfast burrito and it was tasty. Good portion- we split it and we're plenty full. It does take awhile to get your food. It was at least 30-45 minutes and the restaurant was half full. I'm sure there is 1 waitress/host and 1 cook. But overall I enjoyed my breakfast and the waitress was very nice. We will be back while staying at the hotel.

We stopped in here during our WhoCon convention which was held at the Handerly Hotel. This hotel is in the Hotel Circle area of San Diego. It is a nice hotel and offers a lot of room for conventions, but this review is not about the Handerly Hotel. It is about one of the restaurants within the hotel called Postcards American Bistro. This restaurant is one of three within the hotel as the other one is seasonal and the other is seemingly only used for events. So, anyways, we stopped in here for a lunch during a convention and to kill some time before a panel. The service here was quick and responsive and the food was tasty. We were seated at a table and right away were got water and I requested some iced tea with lemon while my girlfriend had water. For food, I ordered a Caesar salad with chicken and my girlfriend had a turkey club sandwich. The Caesar salad was well dressed and quite a large helping. It was terrific and the amount of chicken within the salad was overwhelming and made sure I didn't forget it was a chicken caesar salad. My girlfriend's turkey club sandwich it was about two sandwiches put together and served with fries. She loved the sandwich. The helpings at this restaurant were huge and worth it. I would recommend going to this place to get some big helpings and some decent food.

The buffalo wing saucy was very tasty. It wasn't spicy or strong just flavorful. One of the best I've had. Happy hour is 4-7, 20% off app, $4 well, $5 wine! Exceptional service

Great restaurant quiet, awesome service and pizza its my favorite tried the fish and chips and its great and the club sandwich its good too. Servers are polite and attentive.

I ate at the bar area. The bartender was welcoming and gave me the low down on their beers on tap (all local breweries) along with the menu for food. I ate the chicken nachos (edible and filling ) and had a bud light. The tab was almost $20 for two items. A tad expensive but hey I needed to kill a few hours before a wedding reception. The funniest part of this experience was there was a Oakland Raiders convention. A couple of Raiders fans tried to intimidate the bartender into playing the pre season game. A manager stepped in and told them flat out the game isn't being showed. They were not happy to say the least. But they fit the mold of the typical Raider fans.

We stayed at the hotel this restaurant was in, so we came into it purely for convenience. The main purpose was to feed the toddler since us adults were going out later for dinner. We ordered her the chicken fingers meal, ended up getting the nachos for us to share, as well as two drinks (Basil Vodka Lemonade and Old Fashioned). The toddler's meal was the best thing we ordered, great chicken and a variety of fruit. Both drinks seems really light on the liquor and not really worth the higher prices. The nachos were ok, but after you ate the top layer, you were just left with chips and salsa. Overall, convenient location if you're staying at the hotel and need to feed your starving kid rather quickly.

Had to put in our names, as there is only so much space on an early Saturday evening. Took all of 10 minutes before entry was granted. Led inside to a standing room-only table. Lady friend got the Saturn, myself the 151 Swizzle. I probably did the wrong thing and didn't allow the ice packed on top of the swizzle to melt thoroughly enough into the drink to dilute the 151 overproof black Demerara's rum. Nae worries, brah. It was delicious. Affordable tiki-theme cocktails, decor(!) and atmosphere is why this place will remain popular and a must visit when in Sandy Eggo. Top notch!

It's hidden behind Craft & Commerce, and once you step inside, the immersive tiki atmosphere really sets the mood. The decor, lighting, and sound effects all come together to make the experience feel fun and memorable. Just know, if you are hoping to sit down, good luck! A lot of reservations are made in advance. However, at the bar, if you see a reservation sign and they're not there yet, staff will let you sit down once it's time to get up for the reserved party. DRINKS: 9/10 The cocktails were creative, well crafted, and definitely strong enough to make you feel like you were getting your money's worth. I also loved how much attention they put into the presentation. Every drink looked like a piece of art and added to the whole tiki experience. SERVICE: 9/10 The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. They took the time to answer questions and made great recommendations without making us feel rushed. AMBIANCE: 10/10 This is easily the highlight of the experience. The entire space is beautifully designed, and every little detail makes it feel like you've escaped into a hidden tropical bar. It's cozy, intimate, and unlike any other place I've been to in San Diego. Reservations are definitely worth making since the space is on the smaller side and fills up quickly. The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is that, while the experience and ambiance were amazing, the drinks are definitely on the pricier side. I understand you're paying for the craftsmanship and atmosphere, but it's probably not somewhere I'd visit regularly because of that. It's common for tiki bars to be pricey so it was to be expected. Overall, I'm really glad I finally got to experience False Idol. If you're in San Diego and enjoy creative cocktails in a one-of-a-kind atmosphere, I'd definitely recommend checking it out at least once!

We went to Forbidden Cove, then after hung out in the brewery side for a bit because my boyfriend wanted to have beer. I still got a cocktail! The atmosphere was great, drinks were on point, and the service really stood out. I especially wanted to mention the bartender on the brewery side. I watched him handle a situation with a customer whose ID wasn't valid, and the guy gave him a really hard time about it. Even with all that, he stayed completely professional, kept a positive attitude, and never let it affect how he treated anyone else. It's easy to be friendly when everything's going smoothly, but seeing someone stay calm and respectful under pressure says a lot. Huge respect for the professionalism and hospitality. Definitely looking forward to coming back. Wish I remembered the bartenders name or I would definitely mention it.

I came here again last night with friends and began to check in for our reservation with the bartender (the same bartender who had let me in the last time I was here). He spent a long time inspecting my CA REAL ID before going into the back. He returned and said he can't let me in since he doesn't trust my ID. He said store policy is that they have to be able to feel the imprint on your license's signature, which even he admitted that he could, but it was too faded so he wouldn't let me in. I showed him matching credit cards, Costco membership, and CA DMV mobile drivers license, but he still refused and pleaded ignorance. He gave me my driver's license back and said I'm lucky because he normally keeps fakes (thanks for the empty threat). In reality, he knew my license was legitimate and didn't want to have the cops called on him. This place really needs to update their policies and train their staff better on how to identify legitimate IDs. I'm definitely not gong to bother coming here again and will make sure I recommend others not to come here.

We called in advance and the person we spoke to said we couldn't make a reservation unless we could guarantee 20 people, but we could walk in with a smaller group no problem. Of course we got there right when they opened and they told us they couldn't seat us for an hour. We joined the wait list and walked to a bar a couple doors down waiting for the text that our table was ready. We received a text that our table would be ready at a specific time and then 2 minutes before our table was supposed to be ready we get a text saying we were removed from the wait list with no clarification or follow up. I understand being busy/booked up, but I would have liked to have received accurate information. We could have made reservations online if we had been told. Dessert was the biggest letdown. The mango sticky rice was honestly one of the worst versions we've ever had--poorly prepared and lacking flavor. It's just enough food for one and gives you a sampling of different menu items. The Korean-style wings had good flavor and just the right level of spice, though I wish they were a little crispier. The sliders were straightforward -- nothing groundbreaking -- but well made and satisfying. Fries came out crispy, which I always appreciate. My wife had the poke nachos, and those were the sleeper hit. I was skeptical about the pico at first, but it actually added depth and balance. The sauce tied everything together nicely.
