Such a fun dive bar in OB! Love the ocean theme intimate light setting. Drinks are great, staff is awesome, fun crowd, overall a great spot to grab a drink & hang out!

The security guard wouldn't scan a LEGITIMATE California ID. Thought it was fake when it wasn't. His name is Tony. He doesn't know what the fuck he was doing. We are all bartenders.

Dive bar but not necessarily in the good way. Have gone in before for a quick drink. Not the quickest service even when dead but my LAST attempt left me ignored by the two female bartenders (one looked right at me and turned back to having a loud private conversation with a female customer sitting at the bar) without as much as a "be with you in a minute". I decided to leave after a couple minutes when it was obvious that the one was deep in conversation and the other had left from behind the bar. As I left, the doorman commented on me leaving so soon, so I mentioned I was ignored and chose to go elsewhere (at the bar a few doors down the bartender greeted me immediately). As I left I heard him scoff, "Uhh, get outta here!" To be fair I don't the he thought I could here him. Plenty of other places to get a drink in O.B. I worked in the bar industry for 25 years so I expect at least a minimum of service and know when employees are the bottom of the barrel or don't care. Both on exhibit here.

To get inside, you have to go through the hotel entrance and then take the elevator to the top floor. There was no issue going up or down, and everything moved rather quickly considering we visited on a Friday night. Up top it was a little crowded near the edges where everyone was taking photos, but people moved around pretty quickly so it was still easy to get some really good pictures from the rooftop. I didn't order any drinks, so this review is based solely on the location and the views, but once you're up there it's just absolutely beautiful. We stayed for about 20 minutes, enjoyed the views, took in the atmosphere, and then headed out. Definitely worth checking out if you're in San Diego.

As the night drew on it got cooler inside but just be aware. The decor is adorable and the DJ was super fun. Our waitress said most of their serving dishes and glasses are antiques that the owner has collected. Love that. We ordered a glass of Gamay (because it was served cold) and beer to start. We ended up getting a bottle of the Lester Pinot Noir also because it was cold. They will let you taste any wines even before you order a full glass and that's super awesome. Note they only have beer and wine. The food was good and as everyone else has said, the portions are small. We started with the pastrami gougeres which was definitely my favorite thing that we ordered. Very, very good and not nearly as heavy as I thought they would be. I was afraid to order them because I didn't know if they'd be super filling (they are just the right amount). The summer tomato salad had an amazing ginger dressing and I thought was a pretty decent size for a small plate. The salad changes and uses seasonal ingredients. The peach was great with the tomatoes though I wish the peach had been a little more ripe. The bbq potatoes were great, my boyfriend liked those the most. And we ended with the scallops which were good but only two pieces. Definitely ask for a spoon if you get the scallops so you can make sure and get all the sauce. Overall, it's a very cute spot. Not sure if we'll go back only because it is pretty costly for the amount of food you get. But I do recommend it.

Parking is a bit tricky since it's residential or you can park near the train tracks. Read the reviews before you go. Not all dishes are stellar. I made sure to look up the photos and reviews. I was happy with what I ordered with 2 glasses of wine, the tuna tostada, pastrami gougeres, fried mushroom, and pasta dish. The flavors were fun and the textures were fresh. I was surprised that their desserts are so underwhelming; you would expect more creativity from this place than fruit and sweet cream. We went to get ice cream in Carlsbad to end the night.

Our group was surprised as is was 2115, it's been open for about an hour and a half and packed. As you enter this old law office down a staircase one would find the "speakeasy statutes/rules" to maintain the 1920s atmosphere-- we loved the setting, the people, the drinks, and of course the live music!! One would not be disappointed. The cocktail menu was on an old record, which I thought it was so clever. Back to the rules, seems pretty easy! They mention to keep an open mind with the drinks as they do not carry vodkas, redbull, Budweiser or bulls**t. Mentioned a dresscode, more so be classic and states be respectful and don't be a di*k. I couldn't agree more with the rules. I don't think there is good at this establishment, as our group just came from dinner I wasn't looking for food. Just spirits, live music and a good time. Highly recommend if you are looking for live music and uniquely crafted cocktails.

A sponsor had rented out the whole place and all drinks were comped with food being passed around. We had cuban sandwiches and empanadas, which I think were all from the Havana restaurant upstairs. Food was great! Drinks were good, but the menu was so confusing to me. I didn't really like how they categorized them. Sometimes I feel like just being straightforward is better. Too cute with trying to do the prohibition/speakeasy menu. It did take a while to get drinks when it was packed. Understandable. But I had a few that were good, the boats and hoes, and keffir lime tequila drink were great. I would say that the bathroom had a bit of a stink to it...not sure what it was but smelled just like coming up from the pipes. May just be a basement issue. Overall, good experience. It didn't feel super special but just like any other speakeasy. I like False Idol better in terms of overall vibe.

I think IO more beautiful at night, so we were looking forward to it nonetheless. We arrived around 8 and ordered a bottle of wine in the waiting area/courtyard ramp. Such an interesting layout, but it works! We got to sit at a table right next to the waterfall and pond. Our server was very nice. Probably the only slip-up in service, was that our main came out when we had barely put a dent in apps. We were probably chatting and sipping on wine too much? The expo realized, kept the mains, and said take your time. Then he brought out mains when we were ready. Everything on the menu sounded amazing. My friend and I decided to both get the steak on the hot stone. It comes out raw and you have to keep track of time to cook it how you like it. You can choose flavored salts and butters and sauces for the side. We also shared the pickled strawberry salad. It had lots of toppings, flavor, and textures. The pozole verde was also excellent.

She recommended a milk punch cocktail that incorporated Sotol, which is kind of like tequila but instead of fermenting agave, it ferments Dasylirion and is made only in Chihuahua. Then she recommended a cocktail that leverages a Mexican produced corn liquor in a Negroni but with gin subbed with mezcal. Both of these cocktails are bartenders choice and not on the menu, but the fact that they can execute such innovative cocktails so we'll speaks to the level of dedication bartenders at this bar have.
