My son and I stayed here for 3 nights, 28-30 July 2023. I am a Disabled Veteran in a wheelchair. We had an ADA room, King bed with handicapped rails in bathroom and roll in shower. Also pedestal style sink in bathroom enabling wheelchair access. Movement within the room in my electric wheelchair was tight but doable with a little practice. There was a designated disabled parking spot directly outside of room. Had a microwave, coffee maker and mini-fridge (with freezer compartment) great for my insulin storage. This is a small older motel being renovated and upgraded. Has the feel of a "Mom and Pop" place of yesteryear. If you're looking for The Four Seasons, this ain't it You're in Da UP read more

We stayed at this hotel on a Thursday and Friday night for $400 total. It was not nearly as nice as the pictures on the internet. Our room didn't even have a place to hang clothes. I had to hang them on the shower bar. The air conditioner was so noisy we had to turn it off at night or to listen to the TV. The bathroom was dirty in the corners. The building was in a bit of disrepair. The bed was comfortable though which was a plus. The view was beautiful which was also a plus. The best part was the manager, Kara. She was wonderful and helpful. She did the best she could. She was even helping clean rooms. She explained that they were very short of help and that it was difficult to get people to work, like everywhere these days. read more

FRAUD: Do NOT give them credit card information. Charged me for a stay I didn't commit to and not even the same month I planned to stay. Never had a bad hotel experience until now. They do nothing to compensate don't admit to making any mistake whatsoever, blaming me for a 'no show' which is very obviously possible to do when they make whatever date they want me to show up without any receipt, email or contact to me and no reason they should have charged me for a random day way before I'm actually local. They had my card information from when I requested a quote for my actual trip date which I cancelled and never committed to. I was quoted $140 for a month I didn't want, and before cancelling it was raised to $239 for the month I did request (they acted confused about their price quotes being this high and said OK about not reserving a room at this point). I was still charged for a date in a month which I never requested. And you wonder why there's a no-show? Making up the fact I committed after asking why I was charged and making up assumptions it was all my fault for the 'no show', no effort to contact me (even when I tried calling them there were plenty of days I couldn't get ahold of anyone at all). Have been given plenty of excuses for everything on their end (not working that day, can't call people certain days, out and about for reasons, doing chores), and not one single ounce of words will be taken from your side for whatever reason. This is the only bad experience from any hotel I've ever had just for the record to date. Nobody I know will reserve any place even near your place again, way to assume everything about someone else, I'd not be surprised if they assumed my whole life story as a matter of fact. Edit; When actually getting ahold of them about their mistakes the manager and the worker team up together and not hear you out. They will also make up things about you as you're defending yourself when they're blaming you. I was told very unreasonable things such as being too young to understand how credit card transactions work and too young to know what I'm doing, they also said lied and said they called me and sent me emails about this random hotel reservation date. They have no email from me on file to prove this, and neither do they have proof of literally anything on this random commitment date. They just downgrade you on a personal level and expect you to believe everything out of their mouths which has no evidence backing up their statements. The fact they make up stories about you when it's their mistakes (or intentional mistake) just goes to show you what kind of people run this place. And this is just the tip of the iceberg - to even fathom this customer interaction and business behavior exists is far beyond what my scope of reality has ever been. read more

Found this place on Hotels.Com Total cost for a king size room was 234.00 which at the time of booking was reasonable for water front until we checked in. All the pics on line was cute cabin like rooms We did not get a cute cabin like room We got a 12x12 room that was in dire need of being remodeled, clean, dusted, vaccumed The boot one sheet that cover the box spring was filthy with dust the mattress was probably still from when the bought the place every corner was full of dead spiders smashed into the paint. Multiple spiders in the tub the bathroom is so tiny you have to walk in shut the door to sit on the pot, no shelves in bathroom so clean towels were on back of toilet you can tell the furniture hadn't been moved in god knows how long to vacuum the edging. It was for sure a old style upper penninsula room that I would stay at again but not for no 234.00 a night the room we were in should had gone for 50-75 a night read more

Nice friendly older motel. Has had some updates. The beds were comfortable and the room was pretty clean. Window air conditioner worked well. Refrigerator did not work. The bathroom was tiny but the shower was hot and the towels were fresh. . II got up at 6 am and sat outside waiting for the sunrise. It was soooo peaceful . The only thing missing was a hot cup of coffee. This motel was bought and under new ownership for the past year. Maybe next year they will have coffee. I paid $112 for 2 adults and one night in Room 18. Kind of pricey but peak season in August. read more

We stayed here for 4 nights the week of 6/18. It was our fault for not saying we needed a better room right when we got there but my husband went to office and paid right away. The lake was beautiful!! That's all I can say was good bout our stay there. The grassy area and sandy area at the water was so full of goose poo that you could not even take a step without being in it. Must never be raked up and disposed of. Disgusting!! Our room was dirty,couldn't open blinds because windows were filthy. She said when talked on phone to her that bathroom was really small, however she didn't say it was micro mini! It too was disgusting!! Had to walk in sideways and hardly room to turn around. Seriously! Why would she ha e put us there? We were the only ones there for 2 nights!! Other rooms were bigger with bigger bathrooms. We looked around through some of the other rooms windows. I turned 70 the 1st of June and have been coming up to UP since I was 5. My aunt and uncle had a resort in Rapid River many years ago. I know what a rented space should be like and how clean they should be. This was in no way anywhere near that! Yuck! It was so disgusting! The bathroom was deplorable! Only good thing is I could see Lake Huron every day! I love the great lakes! They have always been my happy place!. But you should think twice before staying here. God it seriously is not a good stay! And she charged us more than rates were showing online. Ugh!! read more

Stayed here for 3 nights. Overall experience was nice! Rooms were updated and we had a view of the lake which was perfect. Motel does have free WiFi but our room had a poor connection, so we never did get WiFi at all. Room/bathroom were little but just perfect for 2 people! Only complaint was, the ice machine was broken. Told the front desk clerk about it and she said "yes it's broken. I go next door to get the ice for our machine." I told her we needed some ice, and she laughed and told me she hates the rain so she wasn't going to get us ice. Told her once she does get ice If she could let us know. She never did get ice. Pretty poor management, for a paying guest asking for Ice. We just walked next door and got some for ourselves. read more

It's a great little motel with fantastic views and very pet friendly. It's definitely older and in need of updating however it's operating room clean, staff is amazing and it's quite the little gem. Very inexpensive, but worth it. read more

I'll start with pluses first. Cost -- very reasonable. View of the lake -- wonderful; there's a nice beach area with chairs, a fire ring and wood if you want to make a bonfire. The manager was very friendly. The rooms were very clean; small and no amenities except for wifi but with vaulted ceilings that made the space seem larger. Pets are welcome. Unlike many mom-and-pop motels, the room temperature was also nice and cozy on a cold fall day. The motel is very close to Java Joe's, one of the iconic eat spots of St. Ignace and about the best place ever to have breakfast. What was not so great for us: The teeny-tiny bathroom, only a bit bigger than an airplane bathroom, that we literally had to enter diagonally in order to squeeze between the door and the sink. (We are sturdy women of a certain age, but we're not obese.) The beds were also very small and not all that comfortable. We also found the entranceways into the rooms a tripping hazard -- it was as if the step was too short or the bottom of the door too high, but in any event we had to keep watching our footing as we entered or exited. We were also frustrated by the lack of outlets for electronics -- and what outlets there were were straight out of the 1940's -- no three-pronged outlets anywhere! Finally -- most dog-friendly hotels either provide potty bags for dogs or keep the dog runs maintained themselves. This motel's walking area for pets was a minefield of feces; not pleasant taking the dog outside in the dead of night along this path of poo. Our stay was -- okay. It wasn't a terrible motel, but it wasn't the best of its type we've ever stayed in. If you just need a place to spend the night and aren't picky, you could do much worse; but you could also probably do better. read more

Our family stayed at the Bayview in August for one night and we'll come back again next year. It's a small, quaint, and old-fashioned place with a friendly manager. Our room was clean and simple, with no alarm clock, fridge, coffee pot or microwave. The rooms are on the small side but have vaulted ceilings and ceiling fans, so you don't feel cramped. The air conditioner worked great when it was hot in the evening. There's an ice machine outside the office so we could get ice at any time. The room had 2 double beds and was set up for 4 guests, but 4 adults in one room would be a squeeze, and the bathroom (shower stall, no tub) is functional but tiny. (We were 2 adults and a young child.) One nice thing was that the rooms have windows on both sides, across from each other, so the cross-breeze was very nice. The price quoted months ago was EXACTLY what we were charged when we checked in -- I was very impressed with this since I expected the typical add-ons or surcharges or whatever. The office was open early in the morning, so we could get coffee before we left. The owners own an open field next door so we were able to park our truck and trailer in a convenient location. They have a small and private beach area. Pets are allowed, and there was no additional charge when I called just before our stay to inquire about bringing our dog. We were very happy with our visit and will be back again. read more
