They proceeded to charge our card another $570 and a 4% fee for eletric and spot fees. We paid for the spot upfront. When asked for an itemized statement " we don't do that ". If you want surprise fees and nightly fights and cops this is the place for you !!

It's a well established resort with large shade oaks throughout, roomy concrete rv pads, cottages, a motel, an activity hall, laundry, and showers. Everything is clean and the park is well maintained. Utilitities were reliable, cable TV was provided, and water pressure was good. Many of the rv pads have a patio extension and it looked like there were picnic tables at every pad and in front of every cottage.The cottages, judging by the one we stayed in, are roomy and well equipped with necesssities including a pod coffee maker, kitchen ware, TV, and robust air conditioner to keep you cool in the heat. There is no pool or playground, making this park more suitable for adults only, however, there is a shady fenced dog park those with furry companions. The activity hall has a large selection of books and cds, a TV, folding tables and chairs to support a variety of activities, and a well appointed card table. Best of all, BTB has a wonderful staff who are intent on making your stay as pleasant as possible. After staying a couple of months, we felt like we were leaving behind old friends when we moved on, and we wish them well.

It's a long read I know…read more The good - location, pool, on site golf cart rental The bad- too pricey for the lack of parking, cramped RV spaces, questionable power pedestals (our breakers kept tripping) At approximately 10:30 p.m., I was abruptly awakened by an older gentleman repeatedly banging on the door of our camper. When I answered, he immediately began yelling that my truck was parked too far over the parking line and needed to be moved. At no point did he introduce himself or identify himself as an employee or representative of Tropical RV Resort, so I initially believed he was super hostile guest. I tried to explain to him that the designated overflow parking area was completely full and asked where I was expected to park. His response was that I should park off the property on the grass behind the park. I informed him that those areas were also completely full. When I again asked where he expected me to park, he stated that he didn't care, that he would begin fining me $100, and then call the fire marshal so I could be fined an additional $500. I do not tolerate being treated with threats and intimidation. He continued yelling throughout the conversation and would not allow for a productive discussion. To end the confrontation, I simply responded, "Okay," several times and closed the camper door. My husband then stepped outside to understand what was happening after hearing someone yelling at me. Rather than attempting to de-escalate the situation, the gentleman immediately began yelling at him as well. A brief verbal exchange followed, as my husband was understandably unwilling to be spoken to in such a disrespectful manner by someone who had never identified himself or attempted to communicate professionally. At this point, I felt extremely uncomfortable around this person. His behavior was unacceptable for someone who works with the Public and no guest should ever be treated that way for such a minor parking in fraction. There were cars on your property marked with tow warnings because they have been parked there without parking permits. At least one car was there for 48 hours perhaps had those cars been cleared there would've been ample parking. Additionally, there were open spaces in the trailer storage area, but I was informed I could not park there either. I also want to express a genuine concern regarding the older gentleman who confronted us. I cannot speak to his personal circumstances, but based on his behavior that evening, he appeared to be extremely agitated and confrontational. His level of anger, the way he pounded on our camper door late at night, and the manner in which he repeatedly yelled and threatened us made me feel genuinely unsafe. Whether this was an isolated incident or a pattern of behavior, I believe it warrants attention. No guest should feel intimidated or fear for their safety while staying at an RV resort. I sincerely hope management addresses this situation, both for the well-being of the individual involved and for the safety and comfort of future guests. In the end, all this started around 10:30 PM and by 11:15pm we were packed up and ready to go. I would rather forfeit a night or two, than stay in the environment that I was in. I should also note that the angry gentleman sat in the dark on his golf cart, hiding behind a fence, watching us pack up the entire time... it was awkward. This whole mess could've been avoided. Had this gentleman knocked on our door, introduced himself and explained the situation (without yelling and threatening us with fines and the Fire Marshal). This could've been such an easy problem to solve. I feel that in this circumstance, an exception could've been made to allow me to park in the trailer storage area or over by the hotel rooms where there was additional space. I would've been happy to pay the $10 storage fee just to have a place to park on property and not risk being towed by parking somewhere I didn't belong.

Rates were decent the guy that runs the place is nice and laid back, there aren't many rules if any, not much of a need for them because everyone here has common interests. There's cable and wifi, power (although seemingly high) is price comparable to parks in the area. water pressure is great, concrete lots with extra parking across the road, you don't get nickeled and dimed for extra cars, dogs or overnight visitors.

They do have wifi (we had a great signal, but we were told it can be spotty); they have cable ( but you need to pick up a receiver from the office, it's not as simple as just hooking up a cable). Your satellite dish probably won't work, the trees block the signal (unless you had a dish with a long cable that you can position so that it points towards an opening in the trees. There is a laundry room. And, it appears they may be building a small shower house ( but I won't swear that is going to be the buildings intended purpose). So why four stars? It is one of the most peaceful campgrounds I've been to in a very long time. The sites are surrounded by live oak trees, the rv pads are all concrete, level and good sized. The location had the feel of years gone by - if a peaceful, quiet campground is what you're looking for you've found your spot! The campground is not very big, maybe 15-20 sites, and many of those are taken up with long term campers - maybe a few snowbirds. The owner is as laid back as the park feels. We had called ahead, so he greeted us when we arrived, then he told us to just pick the site we wanted, get set up and we'd settle up later. It was the next day before we connected up again - and we're the ones that had to track him down. Once we did, he came to our site to settle up. The rate was $35 a night, most in the area are a lot higher! So if you're just wanting to get away from it all - this is the place for you!! If you want or need extra bells and whistles just keep on going, this RV Resort is not for you!!!

The…read morelocation is super close to all the local restaurants and nightlife, everything is just a quick golf cart ride away. Golf carts are available to rent nearby, but my friend and I got lucky and linked up with some of the locals and they were kind enough to let us ride around with them while they showed us their beautiful island. The locals are very hospitable and make it a point to show visitors a great time. As for the cottage itself, everything was super tidy and presentable. The kitchenette comes in clutch for folks that maybe want to cook a meal or two for themselves opposed to spending tons of money at restaurants. Also, my friend and I were very impressed by the service we received. My friend accidentally forgot her bathing suit in our cottage after we were checked out and well on our way home, so we called up the office and they very thoughtfully let the bathing suit dry out and offered to ship it to her home. 10/10 recommend!

Even if a guest interrupted her chain smoking and socializing with the men outside, you'd think she would have self control to not THROW her cigarette at the office door in a way a toddler would throw their toys during a tantrum. Brought up an issue we had the previous night with so much dust and dirt in the room that it was causing a health risk to the occupants and was met with a very rehearsed and and aggressive response "that she inspected the room herself after the best maid they had turned it over" before we checked in. Why would I lie? I have nothing to gain. Screw me right, for asking for the bare minimum. Nevermind the fact that they put us in a room with STAIRS to get to the room, for someone that usually needs a wheelchair. Keep in mind I called like over a month in advance to explain that we were with a disabled senior and needed a ground level room which we were assured of. I was however offered a room on the 2nd floor (because that totally makes sense for a disabled person) that we would then have to pay again for because her personal idea of clean is dust caked walls, tables, lamps and everything else. dishes in the cabinets with caked on food, live bugs in the bed, and dirty hair covered sinks. Honestly I'm not even upset with the maid. if anything the woman at the desk with the shoulder length black box dyed hair, glasses, Monroe piercing (or mole idk) chain smoking with a chip on her shoulder is probably hindering their work with her personal idea of clean. Gross room even grosser staff. Emailed manager for a partial refund. Of course no response. Long story short: total health hazard, not accommodating to disabled, and also get charged a cleaning fee of $34.15 for no maid service and upon check out are told to empty the rooms trash in the properties dumpster yourself as the guest.. get real. Our full trash can upon checkout is clearly up to her personal standards so she can deal with it.
