I believe it's been there for 56 years. The side I walked in you had a huge counter with the menus above. I'm not sure what they are famous for but burgers, roast beef, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches and more. I had the cheeseburger and fries which are baked like chips. Awesome touch. The orangede was delicious too. We also got a free pizza with our order, which I believe was from spending a certain amount. Seating is right behind the counters and they had tables and old school booths for the tables. Great spot and I can see why they've been around for so long.

The bread has a garlic butter spread, the steak is of high quality (far better than anything from the local bodega), and the cheese and onions bring it all together. My Wife's Birthday was July 3rd. Rather than Kennedys I decided to try the Bayhouse It has a beautiful WebSite. Reviews from people outside of Breezy. So I decided to go to the Bayhouse. Myself, Wife, Daughter,Son and his partner. 5 persons, 3 from Bound Brook NJ. I Called early afternoon requesting a reservation for 5 at 8:pm. We drove over, walked in, and a young girl asked "can i help you",? Why yes my name is and we had a dinner reservation for 5 at 8:00 PM. She disappeared, we waited, Then another young girl,arrived, same greeting, but nothing. Then another girl appeared, aclknowleged that we wanted our reservation. Well we have no tables on the porch but if we looked around and there was a table we could take it. So we ended up behind the glass-topped wall separating diners from the bar crowd. I could see out the entrance door or the backs of the bar patrons. Off to the side near the end of the bar was another family group from our Walk. I didn't notice any , air-conditioning, the place smelled of dampness, beer,and fry cooking. 3 of us had a drink, 5 appetizers and 5 meals (From a limited menu) yet quite pricey. The floor of the place looked the same as when it was Henny's, worn and dirty. Our table was sticky. Overall it was nothing, (Unless you could see the sun set over the bay.) My impression of the porch tables was:: If you got one yuou ate and kept drinks coming until the sun set. I had chicken Francais, thick chicken breasts with a heavy white sauce, AND a big gob of something the color of mashed carrots, or maybe it was turnips. I had no idea what it was.The outing was huge flop. My wife said why didn't we go to Kennedys? Even the Blarney, though noisy and crowded, hasbetter food and more reasonable prices. Our impression of the Bayhouse, Great view of the bay and sunset, (If you can sit on the porch). A Great Website, Average to poor limited menu. This place has great potential. But is headed in the wrong direction. With great views of the Jamaica Bay and even better sunsets you need to get the basics right. I stop in Friday no kettle one vodka but I was offered absolute no thanks not looking to drink my grandpa's vodka. I went with a corona instead it would have been nice if a lime was offered. I would have stayed longer but they didn't have the TV'S on so I couldn't watch the British Open. I would have asked but with the bartender not so friendly the waitress sitting down eating lunch and the owner running around the place it was just easier to go home. read more

Linguine flavored with chives, parsley extra garlic all balanced in a buttery white wine clam sauce. Light and flavorful, I tasted each shrimp, clam and mussel individually and completely. But before that three outstanding appetizers all with amazing sauces and dressings appeared. Lightly candied walnuts, fresh cranberries upon warm little delicate pockets of goat cheese with chilled green and robust light crisp leaves. My lady's Swordfish was top quality cooked to absolute perfection, a medium cook temp - light and flakey which reminds me of the Crab Cake as I wander back and forth from appetizer to entrees. I could smell the real crab as it was set upon the table - like the ones I caught here on the docks with killies (bait fish) in 1985. That salty and beautiful briny subtle kiss of the ocean. Someone is not checking inventory. We got there as it opened at five. No excuse for not having a listed wine and then serving a warm $65 dollar bottle. Each plate of food was delivered in a staggered delivery about five to ten minutes apart. Food should come out at the same time to all customers. That's probably on the chef with the mercurial temperament. That being said; the food was very good. The chef can really cook but get there soon because he might not be there long. Four televisions the dining room is unnecessary and very distracting. Turn them off during service. I plan on going back for the good food but will bring my own wine. I got three different answers when I asked about a corkage fee; so I don't know what the corkage fee is. The owners are new and need time to adjust to the place. I see the place improving as the kinks are worked out.
