I never really went in to Lee's as it wasn't my scene. Although the location is conjoined like a duplex to another place I do often frequent, and frequent still, The Tiki Bar. I just hardly ventured, nary set foot into Lee's. And that's probably because I'm not, and still not, in my 70's or even my 60's. Lees was a geriatric gin joint. And I guess, once I got used to not going in there, I just stop seeing it. Like, literally turning the proverbial blind eye to it. So, it's been Lucky Joe's for a minute, and I still haven't acknowledged it. I just forget about it. Last night, while smoking a stogie outside the Tiki, I could hear the music booming out of the open door of Lucky Joe's. It was rap. But it was good rap. The kind of rap I like. Old school 90's. 2000's. Stuff you can dance to. I dig it. So, I popped my head in there. I liked what I saw. Reminiscent of Lee's but just a hint of it. Not the AARP card crowd but the layout and the lighting, which I vaguely remember from an equally as brief visit yeeeears ago. I will return in the near future more focused and on a fact-finding mission. This is an easy one-two hopscotch bar hop between the Tiki and Lucky Joe's and I will do it. They have a kitchen but I've never eaten here but the word is the food is good...They used to throw a Steak Night special on Thursdays but I'm not sure if they still do that or not and in season they boil up soem crawfish and people have told me they do it right... The owner, Dee, is one cool cat...I enjoy smoking a cigar with him when I drop in...last time in I think I was the one doing the owing so I stepped back out to my truck grabbed a coupla stogies and we fired them up and enjoyed... They have quite a few TVs and I know it's called a Sports Bar but I think it's more akin to a lively dive with TVs...Not sure on Thursdays but I know on Friday and Saturday nights they typically have a DJ or some live music act playing...pretty sure they do karaoke just not sure when... It's a local's kinda bar cause let's face it...if your in Shreveport/Bossier you're most likely gonna be spending your time downtown or at the Casinos instead of driving out to the thickets of Benton, LA for your drinking and musical pleasure BUT if you do decide to venture out I think you'll be made to feel welcome and you'll probably have a better time than you imagined...I always have!!!

Only a few ppl inside but it was kind of early in the day. Robin was the bartender. She was nice and helpful. We played a few games and had a couple of mixed drinks. Huge pool hall with a good selection of games and plenty of TVs and seating areas. Outside patio was a great touch. Cozy establishment. Staff was overall friendly but I just felt like the bartenders or at least my initial bartender at the beginning of my night could've been a little more enthusiastic given the fact I'm spending money on cover, food, drinks, and left a tip. Fried okra were great and I feel like they cover all preferences when it comes to drinks. They even have a drink special menu written down on a board featuring cheaper options. That's helpful because I think you can really price your self up by ordering drink after drink here. Flies around some trash cans and various inside areas of the building were a little annoying. Not every spot in Eddie's is the cleanest. I think you could come here and have a great time though...with friends or even make new ones.

Oh, goodness. I…read morereally thought I had left a review for this place a long time ago, and am shocked to realize I haven't. Oh well. The review would have been a LOT better then, anyway. Let me preface my review with this: we (my boyfriend, our friends/co-workers) have been going to Ivan's for about two years now, on a..... let's say weekly basis. There are times we go multiple times in a week, and occasionally skip one or two. It probably evens out. I loved Ivan's. It's the quintessential dive bar-- which is to say, perfect. No one is there to hassle you, everyone seems to be a regular, there's a jukebox, and the drinks are dirt cheap. There aren't many places I go to here on the regular, but Ivan's is one. BUT. Not sure how often it's gonna be now. And I'm editing my earlier review to eliminate some details but the gist is this: one of the "newer" bartenders came in on her night off last week, and she and a female friend proceeded to get so hammered (possibly arrived drunk, which would explain the deterioration of their states) that they walked over to the table my friends and I were sitting at, and essentially pick a fight. It had started with the two girls leaving their own group to walk over in order to pointedly started putting things on our table, or elbowing a few of the guys with us "accidentally". The rest of us would exchange confused glances but carried on, because it seemed the girls were playing darts and too drunk to realize they were being kind of rude. But we assumed they were harmless. A friend at my table accidentally sloshed some of her drink onto one of the girls-- largely because the tabletop was small and crowded with not just the drinks of the people sitting at it, but also the cigarettes and drinks of the girls who had just wordlessly reached past us to set them on there, which was all they needed to explode in a torrent of expletives. They challenged my friend, then one of them started mocking my confused expression, and started trying to provoke a reaction from me (I really and truly believe the bartender's friend LOOKING for an all-out brawl); virtually ALL of us at the table, male and female alike, were called "the b-word", and they started screaming that our table was THEIR table (newsflash: this is not Central Perk), at which point the bouncer yelled at them and dragged them away, then assured us he knew the girls were in the wrong, not us. That's it in a nutshell: There is someone that works there, and on her night off, comes in and gets so hammered that she tries to pick a fight with an entire table of people for zero reason. Like, this is someone who comes in with her friends to her place of work, and then proceeds to be incredibly rude and abusive towards existing customers. Never mind how bad that looks for the bar itself, and the owner (who by all accounts seems like a nice guy), let's consider how staggeringly horrible it makes HER look. It goes beyond unprofessional. She--and her hotheaded friend-- looked like complete imbeciles... though it's been hilarious to make fun of them since. I think I have a new catchphrase, ("What's with your face? It's f----ing STUPID.") and for that I will be forever grateful. I mean, I still like the bar and had NEVER had a problem with the patrons before. But if I were anywhere and a psycho barfly accosted me, I wouldn't really want to go BACK. I'm not a child. I don't have the time nor the patience to put up with children. So it's especially off-putting to me that one of my favorite and preferred bars in town has someone in its employ that acts like such a fool. So it's worth noting; someone who acts like that has probably acted like that before, and will continue to do so, and who's to say it won't happen while she's behind the bar? Blegh.

I was excited to return for my first pride event of the year or event at Central Station in general to celebrate my coming out and just as soon as I was at the front doors I was assaulted by the bouncer after he snatched my phone from my hand and I had to shout at him to please leave me alone and to get away from me and told him not to touch me. He shoved and grabbed and verbally assaulted me as well. Afterwards I had to be calmed down by my friends because I was trembling from the experience throwing me into a fit because of my diagnosed PTSD. I and many others steer clear just to avoid being harassed by this one man who makes you nauseous at the thought of going in or out through the front door. Needless to say what was supposed to be a moment to take in the atmosphere of my new truth was tainted by a malicious man. I'd like to thank the owner for listening to my grievance, I and many others would love to have this resolved. The last Pride Month Drag Show was amazing and all the Queens did a Marvelous job! I hope everyone had a better experience than I! I would also like to thank the bartenders for being so cool with my new non-drinking lifestyle!
