The chicken was very well flavored and moist; it ended up being the star of the show. The rest of the platter included rice, a small salad and hummus, all of which were filling and plentiful but nothing extraordinary. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Oh my god! New favorite. My husband had been here with his friends for lunch a couple of times and loved it, so we came for dinner tonight. We snagged the last open table at 7:30, and saw some people come in with reservations while we were there, so noted for the future that a reservation for dinner is a smart idea. The food: I'm always on the lookout for baba ghanouj with the perfect balance of smokiness and garlic, and this is that. I had the shrimp kebabs, which had a great charred flavor, and the spices were perfect. Great flavor on the rice and grilled veg sides too. I rarely finish a dish but this was so good that I had to keep eating it long after I was full (generous portions). My husband is a kafta enthusiast, and his was spot on. The baklava looked good so I got one to go since I was maxed out on food intake at that point. The atmosphere: casual, cafe style setting with a few shelves of Lebanese items for purchase. Warm, friendly and attentive ownership (I'm assuming)/ staff. Three people stopped by at different points to ask how we were enjoying everything. This is a family-run establishment at its finest. I am 50% Lebanese and 50% Irish (What??). I was raised by the Lebanese side of the family. When I walked into Bayroot the aromas told my brain to look for my grandma. It thought it was in her kitchen. This place serves authentic Lebanese cuisine. Everything is fresh and delicious. They offer traditional dishes made with lamb, or beef, for those that don't like lamb. The spices are spot on, the bread is fresh and the rice is just like grandma use to make. Go there. read more

I ordered two kabob dinners, one beef with potato wedges and one lamb with rice. Both meats were overcooked and dry. The potato wedges were more like steak fries. There was more rice in the lamb meal than actual kabob and it kind of reminded me of Uncle Ben's boxed rice. Both meals had very little meat for the price. Wanted to try some new place around. Found this place on yelp hot new businesses. Hidden place in a small strip mall, but really awesome food. Tried Shish Taouk platter. Rice cooked with a little vermicelli was awesome. Chicken was very juicy and great tasting. But the best thing was some sort of garlic butter they served with the platter. We loved it all: black tea, Lebonese soda, mouhammara (red pepper spread), mananek sausages, lamb shish kebab platter, garlic sauce, etc. The mixed grill for 2 was fantastic and could have easily fed more people. I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious food and attentive service. It was our first time and there were no other patrons. We ordered hummus and pita which is thicker in consistency than Greek hummus. A mixed grill platter which included filet mignon kebab (my favorite), chicken kebab, lamb chop, Kafta and beef shawarma (my least favorite) with rice and vegetables. What a gem! This was our first visit and we will absolutely return. The hummus appetizer was smoothly and garlicky and the kebbeh was flavorful, crunchy on the outside and delicious all the way through. We ordered the mixed grill for two so we could get a wide sampling of the dishes and we would recommend them all... shawarma, shish kebob, shish taouk and the lamb chops (especially the lamb chops....they could make me wax poetic!) For example, there was three of us - just two drinks brought out; sampler platter came with rice - which we got at the end of the meal despite asking twice. Can't believe we found this gem of a place on yelp and decided to go after shopping at the outlet stores. The food here is very tasty! The vegetable soup was a little disappointing as it seemed a little watery and the seasoning I did not quite care for but it was still pretty good. Then I had a falafel sandwich - dee lish and my wife had a chicken sandwich double dee lish and the salad that came with her sandwich was perfectly spiced. Desert and tea did not disappoint and loved the food so much we took home an appetizer and dinner platter for tomorrow night I am so delighted with this food. as is my wife, that we will be returning on Friday with another couple to celebrate my birthday, can't wait. Finally my hats off to the owner, Maher, for being so nice to let us try some other dips and pita bread as an additional complimentary delight to enjoy with our meal. We recently heard about Bayroot and we're very excited because we love this type of food. We tried it for the first time tonight and I think it will be a regular stop. Started with the lentil soup and a sampler appetizer of hummus, baba ghanouj, a yogurt dip, and another egg plant side. All were excellent. We also got a falafel appetizer and the chicken shawarma platter. Both were excellent as well. We topped it off with the pistachio baklava. It was super fresh and delicious. When I first walked in it was very clean, warm and the guy behind the counter was very charming. I ordered a Greek salad with chicken, the falafel appetizer, babaganoush, this cheese wrapped in some kind of dough and this interesting salad. Not sure what it's called. The reason why this is getting two stars instead of a higher score, is because this is the first time that I've ever been to this restaurant and the food was extremely expensive and subpar. after all the reviews here on Yelp, I expected a very good meal. I used to live in Brooklyn and they have a lot of Middle Eastern restaurants that could be pretty difficult to live up to. For starters, I only got three pieces of shish kabob chicken on my salad. That is a pitiful amount. Then, the falafels were extremely hard. I am not sure if they were old or that simply how this establishment makes them, but that's not the way they're supposed to be prepared. I can't say for sure if I'll ever return, but it's a shame. The guy up front was very nice, I wish the food was just as good and was worth the amount of money we paid. I'll give it a thought about coming back. read more
