Delicious & comfy cafe for Lebanese food. I seriously recommend coming here. The man who served us was so kind and helpful with the menu. The appetizers were all so flavorful and we enjoyed every bite. Ended the meal with delicious dessert and coffee. Stop by!

My wife and I paid Bayroot one of the highest compliments you can pay a restaurant, we ate there two nights in a row! We were enjoying a weekend away nearby in Sea Bright and I had seen Bayroot on Yelp. We had it on Friday and it was fantastic. We considered some of the overpriced beachfront restaurants for the next night but after hearing the 90 minute wait and no reservations, we thought "why not go back to Bayroot, they had tons of dishes we wanted to try". The owner is very friendly, knowledgeable, and proud of his food. Everything we ate there was some of the very best Arabic food we've had. We tried to sample as much as possible. The mint lemonade and cardamom tea were nice. The foul, moussaka, and dandelion greens made for a great appetizer round. The mixed grill for 1 was plenty to share for 2 after the appetizer round. The kunefe was awesome, sweet and tender with melted cheese! Night 2 was another set of hits. The dip sampler was great, hummus, baba ganoush, muhammara, lebneh, and moussaka all at the top level. The sujuk was a tremendously flavorful sausage with pomegranate sauce. My wife loved her lamb chops. Even the brown rice was flavorful. We also noticed the attention to detail, the mixed vegetables were a highlight as opposed to being a flavorless mush. That's a sign of a quality chef. I had a zaatar and cheese bread that was also quite good. Great hospitality and food took our weekend getaway to the next level. After two nights, there's still a ton of things to try on the menu.

Another great night of take out from Bayroot! We ordered two Bayroot salads, a Shish taouk platter (double veggies - no rice or fries) & a Grilled lamb chop Platter (double veggies - no rice or fries). It was all absolutely delicious. The salad is so simple but the dressing & fresh herbs really make it special. Both the chicken & the lamb were grilled perfectly. We will definitely order both again. I placed my order for pick up online (which was super easy), my husband hot a text when it was ready & pick up was a breeze.

We came to this place after looking for a middle eastern restaurant in the jersey shore area. My friend chose this place for its good reviews. I would say the food here is more of a 3.5, but rounding up because we had such great, attentive service. They had a couple of tables for outdoor dining, but we were the only table eating outside when we visited.

8/11/20- UPDATE: the owner was kind enough to call me and let me know that the tomato soup is not on the menu any longer- so that's why it wasn't included in my order. So I am most appreciative for that. ************************************************************************* 8/11/20 Delivery of lunch is the theme these days- and I saw Bayroot- looked over the menu and knew my co-worker and I were in for a treat. She ordered Shawarma Beef Sandwich with side of hummus- she said nom-nom it was delish and they did a nice swirl with the hummus so - presentation was really pretty. In ordered the same but with a side of tomato soup. I received mixed vegetable soup- it was good but I would have preferred tomato. I asked for extra pickles, (I was hoping for *pickled turnips) but did not receive any extra pickles- but that just makes me want to head over on my day off, and shop at the cute onsite store! I have to say we are pleasantly surprised and very full!! the portions do not seem big, but they are deceivingly hearty. *Pickled turnips are amazing, so easy to make and I always make them at home. Definitely be ordering again from Bayroot.

One of the best places in the area for Lebanese food. I've ordered from here a few times now. The food is always fresh and ready on time. The owner is very friendly and appreciative of your business. I've had the Mixed grill - Kafta, Shish Taouk, Shish Kebab, Chicken Kafta, And Shawarma with veggies and rice. You can absolutely get two meals out of this even though I demolished it in one. I've also had the shawarma beef lunch special with hummus which is a good bang for your buck. I have yet to dine in but am looking forward to spending some time inside as the restaurant is very welcoming and well lit. Worth the trip whether you live close or far!

It's one thing to find a restaurant with good food but when the owner is sweet and welcoming, it makes the experience so much better. For this reason, It's worth the 45 min drive from my house. I love the mint lemonade so much I always take some to go (and yes, I spike it when I get home ). For the vegetarians, this place fries the falafel separately from the meat. So for the junk food junkies like me, this place has a french fries sandwich !!! yes!!! french fries, smothered in homemade garlic sauce and wrapped up for a perfect bite. FYI, This place closes early and the timing on yelp are not accurate, we drove here one day only to find out they were closing.

    Zaatar Manakish Pie

Driving by the area and found Bayroot. We had a great breakfast, manakeesh (pies) Zaatar, cheese and meat and of course Lebanese coffee. We loved the food so much we took more sandwiches for the trip. the owner is very friendly and welcoming. Thank you Maher.

Mix Bayroot Mezza: Hummus, 2 sides of Babaghannouj, Labneh, and Mousakka. Left out Mohammara because I'm allergic to walnuts.

My parents love Lebanese food, so I found this place after a quick search on Yelp. We shared the mezza and grill platters, and both were outstanding. They use fresh, high quality ingredients. The food is pretty simple but very authentic. The mezza platter was the perfect appetizer. It's served with warm pita. My favorite dip was their version of mousakka. It had some very tasty Middle Eastern spices in it that I couldn't identify and meant to ask about. The grill platter is the way to go, as you're able to sample all their delicious meats. It was more than enough food for the 3 of us, and we even took some home. The owner is very friendly and proud of his restauant. We talked to him for a long time. Really looking forward to coming back the next time I'm in the area!

This time we tried the fava dish, lentil salad, rice pudding, sausage appetizer and falafel. Surprised and delighted with how light and crispy the falafel was! We learned Egyptian falafel is made with fava beans and not chickpeas. The sausage appetizer came with a very flavorful tomato sauce for dipping homemade pita bread. Hummus was also very creamy and delicious. The evening was rainy and cold so we were the only customers making it feel very cozy. The owner and chef was accommodating and shared memories of growing up in Egypt. We enjoyed our time very much. Food is a step above typical Mediterranean. p.s. updated review to add pictures from our first visit. We fell in love with the mint tea, lentil salad, French fries, and pita wraps with tahini dressing.

This place was quiet at 5:30 on a Sat night. At 6pm a party of 4 came in and at 6:30 a party of 2 came in. I don't know how this place was not PACKED because this food is INCREDIBLE! Truly. This gem is hidden away in a plaza right off of the highway. The chef is also the waiter, and likely the owner. You can tell he takes pride is his food and knows exactly what he is doing in the kitchen. Although we don't eat meat, both the lamb and chicken specials sounded delicious and I am sure they are! Do yourself a favor and have an incredible meal here. This guy deserves to have a line out of the door!

I ordered the lamb chops while my husband had the chicken shawarma, and both plates came with rice, vegetables, and a fresh salad with a homemade dressing that was incredibly tasty and unlike anything we've had before. We were served by the owner, Elias, who was warm, personable, and provided impeccable service the entire time. Even though we didn't order dessert, he surprised us with baklava on the house - delicate flaky layers topped with honey and pistachios that were absolutely delicious. Then we were served Pita bread; not the soft & fluffy kind but more of a thin pita pocket type. This pita went so well with the spreads! Recommended! ~ Fattoush Salad ($15): very good; fresh veggies with a fresh herb dressing. Another great palate cleanser ~ Samboussek Jibneh (feta cheese dumpling) ($12/4pcs): loved these! The dumplings are deep fried but weren't greasy at all. This was a treat! ~ Lahme Meshwi (grilled filet mignon cubes w.rice & veg) ($40): I thought this dish was a tad bit overpriced but great nonetheless. The filet mignon was so tender and prepared perfectly.
