I am so disappointed in today's visit to this clinic. I made an appointment to get my dogs nails cut here. Admittedly, I should have come in earlier as my dogs nails were quite long... Especially his due-claws which he has one on each foot. After taking my dog to the back, about 10 minutes later, a technician who I've never seen there before comes out with my dog and from across the lobby says "WE NEED TO TALK" and a loud stern voice, with the two others in the lobby immediately looking at me. The technician comes out and loudly talks to me, and I mean loudly... Like she was very bothered.. and tells me that she could not use the Dremel on my dogs nails because he would not let them. She told me I would need to drug my dog with tramadol for them to do his nails. I was very confused and said I could give him some calming treats or melatonin, as it has a similar effect to which she says " IT'S NOT THE SAME THING BECAUSE THEY'RE TWO DIFFERENT MEDICATIONS". I told her I understood this, but I would prefer to try a calming alternative before having to purchase tramadol from them. She walked away and was still speaking very loudly to the front desk. And then the front desk acted as though they were doing me a favor by not charging me for the Dremel. I'm looking at his nails... No shit he would not let them use the Dremel because they took off over half of the nail in some cases, exposing the quick. My dog is having a hard time walking because his feet are very sensitive due to how short they went... I would've tried to bite them too if they did this shit to me.. Again, I should've taken my dog earlier... But they could've taken off just a little bit and told me I had to come back in a week and that I needed to start coming in more often. Not hurt my dog and say I need to drug him. I've had my dog for three years and I've never experienced this. Moving forward this will be a last resort. read more

Had a scare the other morning with my dog and had to find somewhere to take her quickly. Looked up places nearby and Bayshore was very close by and also highly rated. Couldn't be happier with the care both my dog and I were given. She ended up having to have emergency surgery for pyometra (kicking myself for never having got her spayed). It was a pricey procedure (~$1,800), but I'm sure that would have been similar at any other vet. The place itself is very nice. One feature I liked a lot was that they have partitioned seating in the waiting area, that could potentially deter any fighting or unwanted contact between other animals. The staff was super nice and helpful. Dr. Margarita Davila was also very friendly and helpful and took lots of time explaining things to me and going over potential outcomes, etc. She even followed up via email late the night I took my dog home, and again the next day on a day they were closed, to check up on how everything was going. Of course as with any human medical establishment as well, there are going to be negative reviews from grieving pet parents, people struck with the pricey bill, etc. but ultimately any medical procedure is likely to be costly and risky. I would definitely recommend bringing your loved furry friend in for whenever the need arises. read more

FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR BEAUTIFUL PETS AND YOUR MONEY I brought my dog to this place in the morning for a skin check and vaccines , my dog was inside for about 1 hour and half then a "doctor" came back without saying hi "your dog is having a heatstroke and having a kidney failure. They said the vet was closing so "take your dog to an ER" we paid for a lot of tests .... however I told them those results could not be possible because my dog was acting fine and normal, however we paid for all of those unexpected tests related to that "ALLEGED ILLNESS" they talked us about. We took him to an ER and retested my dog again . The doctor at ER said "every test we did was showing that your dog is perfectly fine (no kidney failures, no heatstroke) meaning this place probably has no calibrated machines, they are doing their job really bad, and are adding illness to the invoices that does not exist" I spent thousand of dollars going to this horrible place and then going to the ER when my dog was fine. I do not spend energy writing reviews however this experience has left me with no choice but to make fellow peers aware of the service from this establishment. I was inclined to take my female cat Pepper to be spayed at Bayshore Veterinary Clinic because it is close to my house. I submitted the request online through their portal and created a profile for Pepper. When I arrived at the time the app instructed, they were not open yet, when they opened and I showed the front desk their app and my appointment confirmation they apologized for the technical error and advised Pepper would need a prep appointment to determine if she was fit to be spayed. We did that instead that day at a later time they had available. I should have left and never returned at that time. My intuition was skyrocketing, the appointment was wrong, they had Pepper in their computer as a male, no one ever put her down as male in the app it always showed female, and there were children behind the front desk counter with a puppy who was peeing on a pee pad on the floor. I should have went to a different Vet at that time given all those things not seeming like a competent, clean, veterinary office but I didn't I stayed and went through with it hoping for the best. At the time of Peppers prep appointment the Vet was most interested in giving me information on pet insurance. Another red flag I ignored, why weren't they more in tune with Peppers needs not pet insurance? The answer is clear, this Vets office does not care about the well being of the pet instead it seems more about making money. The vet called during the week said Peppers blood test came back fine and she could be spayed, they never took the stool sample they asked me to obtain it was still in her bag so they didn't complete all testing they should have and went on with the surgery. I brought Pepper in a week later for Spay surgery which went well they said and she returned home that night. A day before her 2 week check up Pepper was lethargic and throwing up, I took her to her 2 week checkup in the am when they were open and they advised me she had 0 white blood cell count and had an infection, started her on an IV and monitored her progress for a few hours. I received a phone call Pepper would require Hospital assistance they could not provide there. I went to pick up Pepper to bring her to a hospital, they charged me $1,200 to take her, she then died a few minutes later in my car in traffic. It was the most devastating experience of my life watching her struggle to breath and die, and I have lost both my parents. I blame myself because there were too many signs I ignored ultimately leading to her death. I know in my heart if this vets office had done their due diligence with Peppers initial blood work and missing her stool sample to test, having her as a male in their system just because she was an orange cat, hard selling of pet insurance, over charging to kill an animal, I should have left at that initial intuition. I am writing this so you do not take your pet here, find another Vets office better yet use an Animal Hospital because if I had Pepper may still be alive. Peppers brother from the same litter passed 6 days after Pepper from cardiac issues, he was so sad she was gone he died of a broken heart. Now my heart is broken and I blame myself. Follow your intuition it will guide you and do not use Bayshore Vet Clinic if you want your pet to live. read more

My wife is in the veterinary management industry and knows every veterinary practice in Miami-Dade, so the selection process for where we would take our pets was THOROUGH and quite the endorsement. Dr. Davila saved my dog's life. After limping for a couple of weeks, we finally took her in and almost right off the bat Dr. Davila mentioned a few things it could be and said there's also a chance of cancer. I thought she was crazy (my dog is extremely active and healthy large breed 8 yrs old). After an xray, she took her time to let me know the signs were pointing to that...she called the nearest 3 cancer centers to help us make a fast decision and get her treatment ASAP. When called out, Dr Davila says that she cannot honor those online prices because she won't be making money. The best vet I ever went to. I have a little Shih Tzu and I kept going to this one vet who kept saying oh his skin is flaky and his hair is falling out because it's the breed and would give them a shot and send me home he had dry eyes and his eyes were all pussy and you couldn't see. I was so sad. My dog was only nine years old and I was losing him my neighbor kept saying go to bayshore Dr Crespo, so I finally went. It wasn't cheap, but it was worth every penny. My dog is his own self. He's running around he has no place in his eyes. His skin is beautiful. I wish I had gone sooner. He's not scratching hates. Decided to save time and took my two chihuahuas to this clinic which is closer to my house than my usual one in Hallandale. The invoice for dental they gave me was for over $3000 and noted "likely to increase". The same services at the Hallandale clinic costed me $1300 last year. I picked up my dogs, paid $105 for an estimate (!), and drove to the old clinic. What a waist of money and time (the check-in process took hour and a half even though i made appointment in advance and they didn't have anyone else at 8am...)! Update: Thank god they gave me inflated estimate! When I warned dr Barbosa at the hallandale clinic about being careful of not breaking my chihuahuas jaw when doing dental extractions he laughed and asked how old that doctor I just saw was... I love Bayshore Veterinary Clinic! Dr. Crespo is the best vet we have ever had. She treats our cats like family. Prior to having found Dr. Crespo, we had been to several vets who I felt really violated our cats. They always seemed so distressed and we were never happy with the level of service we received. Yes, any vet is going to be expensive, and Bayshore isn't an exception. But Dr. Crespo takes the time to thoroughly explain every single procedure, every single reason. Let me preface this by saying that the vet staff is amazing. We LOVE Dr. Crespo. She goes above and beyond. This review is unfortunately about the grooming. We took our dog for a drop off time at 8:40am for a groom. At drop off, I asked the groomer what time she thought our dog would be done, and she replied that he wouldn't be done until after 12, but would call if he was done earlier. At 3:00, as I was driving my child home from school I called to check in so I wouldn't have to make a second trip out to pick up my dog, and I was only told the groomer would call when my dog is ready (per the groomer via the receptionist). At 4:45 I was contacted to pick up my dog by 5. My dog came in and immediately went to his water bowl proceeding to drink his entire bowl of water. I can only imagine the lack of care he was given. I communicated with the groomer that my dog is older, has hip issues, and anxiety. I will warn pet parents that if you don't want your dog being locked in a groomers cage for the day, with limited communication, and the expectation that you are ready when she's ready- Do Not Take Your Dog For Grooming Here (Charlotte is the groomer). Extremely disappointed. But, otherwise, his haircut looks good read more

Brought my elderly cat there for not eating, the same thing happened to my other cat last year, but I went to a different clinic. Dr. Davila took x-rays, blood work and fecal test. Said the cat was dehydrated and thin, she proceeded to say he had a mass near his intestines. But he is not in pain, she said short of doing surgery, which she didn't suggest for his age, she said try to feed him and if not put him to sleep. Last year, when my other cat had the same problems, also due to age, I paid about half for the same tests, and when I asked that Dr. about putting her to sleep, because it was breaking my heart watching her get weaker, he said to me, she is not in pain, bring her home, feed her as much as she will eat and just let nature take it's course. Much more compassionate, little harder on me, but she passed at home, where she was comfortable. read more

Even one star is too much to rate my experience. I brought Bob on September 26, 2018, he was wining, retching and pooping blood with an extreme foul smell. I explained Dr Margarita Davila my experience at the emergency room the previous night and I was hoping she could help curing Bob. She left, and her assistant came in with a $2000, - dollar bill. It was very disturbing Dr Davila did not came in with the bill herself to explain since I was already overwhelmed with my baby being sick. Also, the bill already contained medicines without her even knowing what was wrong and X-rays on day 2! Not too lose time I specifically ask Dr Davila for the first best steps to take and that my concern was he had parvo (after doing online research) She told me she would run those tests and we would go from there. I left thinking Bob was in good hands. She was supposed to call me back soon as she got the results which she never did. I contacted her, and she told me that the tests came out negative. I was relieved and asked her for the next steps. She told me bloodwork was not necessary because that happened the night before at the emergency room. I agreed but realized later this was a big error she made! As doctor she should have known that it is very important to keep track of the bloodwork at all time, since white blood cells are a must to fight any infections! After running some other tests and not calling back again. I started to get frustrated and called again myself. She then mentioned Bob had a lot of pain in the belly. Instead of calling me about this she just waited for my call and tried to force feed him, while he could not even drink water, he had to be on the IV. Imagine him being able to eat! I suggested to make an echo to see if something was stuck in his belly. Friends advised me this after talking with them. She said that there could be something in his belly and that we could make an X-ray! After informing she said the X-ray service, she provided had no direct result. She would have to send the result to an external company and then she would receive the outcome the next day!!!! It's crazy that she even was thinking in terms of days while Bob was nonstop crying, still pooping blood and retching. Off course we did not agree and decided to pick up Bob and do an echo. She referred us finally to VCA in Hollywood. We already paid 400 something dollar and now she wanted to bill us another 200 something for basically doing nothing which we not agreed with. We rushed to the other hospital were the doctors were very professional. In the hospital they asked for the results of the tests that Bayshore Veterinary Clinic ran. She was supposed to send me the results by email and even after me calling and specifically asking Dr Davila did not even care to send them over! Resulting in VCA having to lose extra time doing additional tests. The echo showed that Bob had liquid everywhere in his belly and additional tests showed that he had parvo virus. While the parvo test at Bayshore Veterinary came out negative. It is really a shame that Dr Davila is a veterinarian. In all these lost hours at her office the virus was basically destroying all Bobs intestines Dr Davila did not care about Bob at all. I'm not an expert I trusted her expertise but knowing he had so much pain in his belly and she didn't do nothing, just waiting to collect money. Really makes me sick to my stomach. Bob died the next morning, when he arrived at the VCA hospital his white blood cells were so low his body had nothing left to fight the virus. Dr Davila was supposed to run blood test to keep close eyes on Bobs levels and propose an echo right away instead just waiting and pushing food in his mouth! It's been 2 months, but I cannot even describe how I miss him and how painful it was to cremate Bob. A part of me died with him. Bob just turned 1 year and was a little bundle of happiness and melted everybody's heart. I still cannot believe Bob is gone. read more

I love Bayshore Clinic. Everyone who works there loves animals and it shows. The place is spotlessly clean and the staff are sweet and gentle with your pet. I've been going there for two years now with my pets and I completely trust them. So do my pets, you can tell if an animal is nervous and frightened and my animals don't show that when they're being handled by the Bayshore staff. In fact one of my cats always kisses everyone there, so I know he feels comfortable! I had to have one of my cats euthanized last year and Dr. Crespo made the experience as gentle, serene and respectful as possible. They did exhaustive testing before we decided to end her suffering. I felt they were as sad as I was. I've had vets who were really uncaring put an animal to sleep and Bayshore is the exact opposite. They are totally dedicated to animals. They're not cheap but neither are their prices as high as some veterinary offices I've checked out. I'd say they're probably medium in their pricing. There's plenty of free parking at the clinic. The waiting room is pleasant and you aren't crammed next to other people, they have little booths you sit in so you can keep your pet calm. If you live anywhere north of the downtown area, I'd highly recommend you go to Bayshore. Well, even if you live south, it's worth the drive to entrust your pet's health to kindly, professional and caring people. read more

I've been taking both my dogs here for years, and even though there are cheaper alternatives, I would never think of changing to another vet while I still live in the area. The staff is always exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the office itself is clean and spacious, and never seems to be overrun with other animals. Dr. Crespo is phenomenal. Not only is she an excellent vet, but she's kind and accommodating, and is always transparent about the costs of any treatment that she recommends. Like any good pet owner, my dogs are like my children. There are dozens of places that are qualified to perform tests and administer treatments,but the peace of mind that you get from a place like Bayshore - where you can be confident that the staff has your pet's best interests at heart - is rare. read more

Bayshore Veterinary Clinic is a great place to take your pet knowing you'll get great service. The front desk personnel are extremely nice, especially Barbara.The vet assistants are also very nice and always willing to help. My dog has been seeing Dr. Crespo since I rescued her as a 6 week old puppy, who was very sick. Although the prices are a tad high, I can't complain due to the great service and help that the staff offers. My dog is now 2 years old and as healthy as can be. Dr. Crespo takes the time to sit and explain anything and everything you need to know. I have also been getting my dog groomed here since she was a puppy. They do a great job as well. I don't even worry about leaving my dog here. She comes back how I asked her to be groomed. The groomer is only there Sat, Mon, and Tues. This place is very professional and very helpful with anything you need for you fur baby or babies. I don't think you can put a price on that! read more

Dr. Crespo is beyond amazing and the vet tech Liz, too. They go out of their way to do everything to help you and your pet child. My petchild went in with an extreme case and Hollywood Animal Clinic said there was no hope. Dr. Crespo took my petchild and in 10 days he came home and that was over three years ago!!! The front office staff is great too especially Barbara and Melissa, those are the two I know the best. I highly recommend that if you have a cat to see Dr. Crespo. I came here based on recommendations by fellow Yelpers. Being new to the area and seeing how expensive pet boarding alone can be around Miami, I was dreading the search for a new vet thinking of how exorbitant the prices were going to be. I called around and Bayshore's prices were about the same as my last vet and I liked the fact that they got good reviews. I love my dog to death and as important as price was, I wanted to make sure I had a vet who was thorough. Dr. McCoy saw my dog and as Ann H. mentioned, he can be a little intimidating. He's an older gentleman so I can understand his down to business demeanor. I didn't find him offensive by any means and he seems to like to throw around that "I'm not trying to be a police officer, I'm just asking questions to..." line. Interrogate away. I have no problem with it. I think it's a good thing to ask owners all the necessary questions to know whether or not the animal is being taken care of. Within reason of course. You don't want to feel like you're on an episode of Law and Order either. Dr. McCoy was very thorough with my dog. The only thing I found odd (but maybe I don't know any better having only been to one other vet) is that he did most of the tests in another room where the owner isn't allowed to go into. I saw my dog get her shots and the general examination, but if I'm paying for all those expensive tests, I want to see them happen. Overall I was pretty satisfied. The lady at the front desk who was helping me out was very nice and helpful. One of the other ones at the front desk could have used a slight attitude adjustment or perhaps she hadn't had her coffee yet. If your dog needs meds/special food, etc., Dr. McCoy told me that his prices match those of 1-800-Ped Meds which is where I usually get my dog supplies from. My 12 year old dog Austina had to have a large mass removed from her neck. I was definitely nervous about having this done especially because of her age but she is doing great! Plus the price they charged me I felt was a fair and reasonable price for the surgery! Dr. McCoy and his team did a wonderful job and Austina is Recoverying beautifully. I could not be more pleased with how they treated her and their professional behavior. I also appreciated the coutesy check up calls I received once I had her home and recovering. My dog Louie had not been feeling to good. I suspected an earache / infection and I also was concerned about "hot spots " I couldn't get rid of. I called and got a next day apt. I saw Dr. Davila. She was so helpful as was her assistant ( a tall guy w dark hair). I was right about the ear. They went over different options for his treatment. I ended up having them clean out his ear and administer the ointment into his infected ears. I also bought antibiotics they prescribed for the hot spots, They went over options for flea control. A few days later they called me to check on Louie. I also noticed that most of the people that were bringing their pets in were regulars, they knew the staff by name ect. as far as the prices go, it was more than I thought it would be, but I really don't have any other vet experiences to compare it to. Although I cant imagine another vet would be much less expensive. I will be making this Louies vet for sure. read more

My first time bringing my cat, he had a bad reaction to one of the meds. For the past 6 weeks they have been caring for him on a weekly basis and calling throughout the week to check up on him.
