I wish I could gate-keep.. and this may seem premature, but I'm confident from trying only one dish that this place is incredible. I'll be returning (maybe tomorrow) with my husband to get several other dishes. The flavors, portion, customer service, charming (outdoor) space. Truly the perfect neighborhood street food spot. You can tell the family working here really cares about what they do, and it shows in the food. The menu is also small yet very thoughtful with something for everyone - beef, pork, chicken, tofu, fish dishes are all stars. One entree is easily two meals for me, and the location is super convenient if you live in the neighborhood. Definition of a hole in the wall. Nothing to go on other than the little pig sign you see hanging on the building- Little Pig - never heard of that before.. Well, I'm here to tell you - don't sleep on it. I got the choo chee banh mi and I was extremely impressed. This is a little counter servicee takeout spot that has some outdoor seating that you can help yourself to. I ordered online and walked over to pick it up. I got there a little early based on what it said my pickup time would be and I ended up getting it a minute or two after it was done - I didn't want it sitting because the breading on the fish would have probably gotten soft. So, the fish, cooked perfectly. It was a piece of white fish and it flaked perfectly, stayed moist, the breading was light and it was topped with a slightly spicy, slightly sweet thai chili type sauce. It had some fresh pickled daikon and carrots along with some cilantro- that was it. Simple. No bells and whistles just perfectly executed. What really separates a good banh mi from a great one, the bread. The bread on this sandwich is what I noticed immediately. Glass-like shattering exterior that lets you into a pillowy and slightly chewy interior. From start to finish, I was thinking about how good that bread was. This is a small place that is a bit receded from the main street and offers Vietnamese cuisine with distinctive flavors, given that the choo chee curry is a Thai flavoring but here it is offered as a banh mi. There are only a couple of outdoor tables, so depending on weather, takeout may be the only realistic option. This does expose one to passersby on the street as well. The banh mi with tofu I got was bursting with flavor, both from the curry, the crisped edge of the bread, and the abundant fresh herbs. My friend and I got takeout from Little Pig and it was truly delicious! I can't comment much on the ambiance or the service since takeout orders are picked up at a window so you don't even go inside. I will say that everything was ready just about on time (we scheduled for a 5:35 pickup and I got the text that it was ready around 5:45). The woman at the window was very friendly and even threw a couple pieces of candy into our bag. The food was all exceptional. I ordered the tofu banh mi and it was everything I want in a banh mi - crispy bread, crunchy veg, flavorful tofu. There was no spread that I could detect but the tofu had this delicious spicy peanut-y marinade that added a ton of flavor. My friend got the Tom Kha Gai (chicken soup) and GraPow Gai Kai Dow and loved both. I can't wait to go back! read more

Only had time for a quick bite, but what a bite it was. I had Piyathida's dumplings and the chive cakes. Both loaded with flavor, sweet, hot, delicious. It is best to order online in advance. When I was there, I was able to score a parking space and my food was ready in about 10 minutes. There were a couple of tables outside, but others had taken them. I happily inhaled my dumplings and cakes in my car. I've been meaning to return and try the bahn mi and sausages. On my '26 eatery bucket list. This is one of Portland's hidden gems. Absolutely phenomenal food! We got the dumplings and panang nuah, the pictures do not do it justice. So much flavor, and a great portion for the entree. The woman who cooks was very kind and took our orders, and a very sweet young man brought the food out for us. Others note the seating as a downside, but I found it charming sitting out on the patio. We went to Little Pig while we were on Vacation in Maine. It's amazing and some of the best Thai food around. Probabaly even better than lots of Thai food in Thailand.
