Whenever I am back in Indy I hit up Bazbeaux Pizza. The garlic bread with cheese is awesome and a must try. They have a variety of different pizzas and you can also make your own. I usually get Pepperoni with Bacon. They have multiple locations around Indy, but I have always gone to the Mass Ave location. It's the perfect place to get a slice of pizza before hitting up the local Mass ave pubs. I will continue going here every time I come back to Indy. read more

I have ate here twice and have had very different results each time. The first time I ate here I was not pleased with my pizza or the service. I sat outside and felt forgotten by my waiter. The pizza was lack luster to top it off. Tonight though, I ate inside in the bar area. I never had to wait long on refills. My pizza came out in a timely manner and was delicious. I love bazbeaux and typically order from the one on brodripple but moved and this one is closer, I had to do the curbside pickup because of covid but i order and went there when they said it would be ready, called them and let them know I was outside and what make model and color of car I was in along with my name of course but sat there for a hour and the runner said it would be out when it was ready. I ordered 1 large pepperoni and 2 orders of cheese bread and marinara sauce and they had turned one of the sauce cups over in one of the packs of cheese bread over without a lid so it spilled out everywhere (I believe to get back at me for keeping inquiring about my order after being there a hour extra) when I finally got my order the ticket said 6:30 and it was 7:45 had to microwave everything to heat it up. Long story short go to the one on brodripple they get a 5 stars this one gets 1 star because it is not right what they did. read more

When I was living in Bloomington (spoiled with Lennie's, Avers, and mother of all amazing pizza joints Ma Bears) I would hear people from Indy always compare these spots to Bazbeaux's. We went on my birthday and had the Tchoupitoulas on one half and the Quattro Formaggio on the other. I am not sure which was the more mediocre half of the pie. They had a BBC beer (Bloomington Brewing Company) on draft which was nice but the pizza does not compare to the pizza at Lennie's/BBC in B-town. Ordered two pizzas on a Friday night. The second pizza I requested was the Roma with light pesto. Both pizzas arrived warm not hot. I didn't complain as I realized it was a Friday night. However the Roma pizza did not have any pesto. Pictures below. I called the restaurant to notify them of the mistake and the manager was condescending and argumentative. He insisted that his cook put pesto on the pizza. When I told him it was not visually evident nor did I taste it he told me I was wrong to order light pesto and placed the blame on me. On my most recent visit, the waitress was super friendly and they have a great selection of gluten free pizza! I'm not gluten free, but my friend is and she absolutely loved the food. We were introduced to Bazbeaux over the weekend by our Indiana friends, and I think we will make this a regular stop! As a vegan, good pizza is not always as easy to find as it should be, but I loved this one. The whole wheat crust made a huge difference to me.....it has an excellent rich flavor. I also like that the toppings are premium, as in grilled onions (not raw), sundried tomatoes, kalmata olives, fresh spinach, etc. All that goes a long way with me. This was my first time for Bazbeaux Pizza. I came into town for the weekend and they were within walking distance from my hotel (JW Marriott). Being a vegetarian, good pizza places can sometimes be limited. I walked in and was greeted very friendly. I asked to sit at the bar and she showed me where to go very nicely. I say down and was greeted with a beer and wine menu and was asked if I would like a food menu. I ordered a beer and the Bazbeaux Special, a vegetarian option (their menu is separated for veg and non-veg) with some greens on it. The beer was great. My pizza arrives after a moment, hot out of the oven. So hot, I repeatedly burnt my mouth! It was delicious though. The crisp bottom of the pizza complemented the toppings perfectly. Overall, a very nice place. Good atmosphere, great employees, and awesome food. Highly recommended! read more

I originally came to the Indy Metro area to go eat at some other place, but didn't like the atmosphere, so I left. Leave it to Yelp Mobile to find me a gem like this! The atmosphere was modern and basic, which I loved. Too many places these days have over the top "flavor" and it takes away from the dining experience. I asked the waiter what his pizza suggestions were (always a good idea by the way) and he pointed me to the masterpiece that is the Quattro Formaggio. This pie was the perfect combo of traditional style pizza and American concoctions that you see at Pizza Hut and what not. The crust was thin and crunchy, which I normally frown at, but for some reason I loved it here. The ricotta and other cheeses played nice together and frolicked around gracefully in my mouth as the bacon and mushrooms sang sweet songs of bliss to lull my taste buds into a wonderful trance full of happy thoughts. This was a first time for both of us so we asked the hostess and our server for recommendations. One recommended the Quattro and the other recommended the Tchoupitoulas. The great part is you can do half and half on the medium or large. We ended getting both and both were amazing. As my mom and I continue down our list of new places to eat at, we decided to try our first pizza joint. Per usual, we ate rather early in the evening (around 5pm) and were seated at a booth right away. The hostess who sat us was rather abrupt, and did not even say anything as we got to our table, but walked the other way. It was strange. Our waitress then appeared and got our drink order right away, and was patient when we needed to look over the menu several times. My mom ordered a root beer to drink (not being a fan of coke products) and when she got her first refill, they had ran out of root beer. They offered her another soda, which she chose coke, despite not enjoying it too much. Even though it was unavoidable, it was disappointing she still had to pay for a type of soda that she did not really want. We also opted to start with some garlic bread, however it was disappointing. Not worth the money for a generic garlic bread. Too crunchy and not enough flavor for my liking. Being our first time here, my mom and I opted to get the 1/2 and 1/2 pizza. We ordered the genova (with bacon added, yum) and the mexcan pizza, with a wheat crust. When the pizza arrived, it did not look like we expected. I asked which was which, and it turns out they had made genova/margheritta pizza. They then went and made a separate mexican pizza, while my mom and I ate off the original pizza in the meantime. It was inconvenient, as we were already full by the time the mexican pizza arrived. The pizza itself was good. When we first started eating, we were disappointed by the crust. It was thin and just way too crunchy, even difficult to cut with a knife. Upon receiving the mexican pizza (they had not realized we had originally ordered wheat crust) I realized that it was the wheat crust that was terrible. The crust on the mexican pizza was better, not fantastic, but better. The margheritta pizza (the one we did not order) was not too great. My mom and I both love garlic, but it honestly had way too much garlic. Sad when we both say that. The genova pizza was good, I loved the edition of eggplant to a pizza. The mexican pizza however was by far the best, especially with sour cream added to the top. It was perfectly cheesy, with avocado and several other fresh toppings. With the mistaken half order of pizza, I ended up taking over a full pizza home for leftovers. Which made it feel worth the money. I do recommend the mexican pizza, and based off of other reviews, it sounds like the Mediterranean is a must as well. I will stop by again when I am in the area, but I do not foresee myself going out specifically for Bazbeaux. read more

Every time I visit the Indianapolis area I make it a point to stop by one of these establishments. My family and I love the pizza here. It is always perfectly cooked and delicious. I love trying the more exotic flavors and the rest of my family stays safe and usually gets sausage and ham. None of us have ever left disappointed. This last visit I had a Firenze pizza. We ordered dinner for the Yelp's White Night event. It was in walking distance of the circle. We got the Mediterranean with chorizo, pepperoni, feta cheese, spinach and house roasted red pepper. The chorizo was a little spicy, but I liked it! It added a good kick to the pizza. The Large was plenty big for the 4 of us. We also got the antipasto salad which was really good. It had shrimp, salami, prosciutto,pepperoni, artichokes, onions, and hearts of palm. The 4 of us split a large and all got a decent amount as a starter. It had a lot of the toppings. I was surprised at all the meats and veggies in it. We had wanted the fresh mozzeralla plate, but I guess you can only get it at the restaurant and not for pick up. But the salad more than made up for it. Bazbeaux has so many great things going for it. They have a great lunch special that I can't recommend enough but what I really want to talk about is the Quattro Formaggio pizza. Lots of cheese, bacon, and mushrooms. It is by far my favorite pizza there. The cheesy garlic bread is a great starter as well. They also have a great selection of local beers and a super friendly staff. Once our pizza was "slightly" burned and the waitress was super apologetic and even took a bit off our check at the end of the meal even though we insisted everything was fine. This location might not be the best "family friendly" type of place, but is pretty good considering all of the other places on Mass Ave. When we went, it wasn't too crowded and we were able to walk around with the little one that was part of our party. My family was in town for a basketball game and wanted pizza - my first thought was Bazbeaux... because it's been too long! We were immediately seated and greeted by our waiter. We started off with their award winning garlic bread with cheese which was phenomenal! I recommend every try it - you will not be disappointed. There were 5 of us so we ordered 2 Large Pizzas ... and we had plenty of leftovers! (Not because it wasn't delicious though) we ordered the Colossus and the Mexican which were both so good! I first came to this place when I was freshly hired at a new job with three others and our insanely charming boss and super down-to-earth trainer took us here to eat a little za. When I put the slice of that gooey meat lover's pizza into my mouth, I about passed out from how good it was. I then decided to one time to come on my lunch break and pick some up to eat during the day time training. However, now I am on night shift and I think they have that little food bar shut down at night, so unfortunately I haven't been able to get some. However, when I get a chance, I am not only running, but SPRINTING to Bazbeaux to get some of that unbelievable pizza. The only downfall is that it is a little pricey. #ohwell read more

Not sure I really need to say much of anything considering everyone else covered it all. But I wanted to reiterate how good the pizza is! My boyfriend is from Germany and he appreciates a good Italian pizza - lets just say when he first traveled to Indianapolis for work - 5 days a week - he ate Bazbeaux at least 4 days. We have tried various appetizers, salads, and pizzas and have yet to have any complaints. Sometimes you may get stuck waiting for a table, but if you go by the bar, the beer selection is stellar. Not sure what all the rage is. The only good pizza we tried was the chilope. The Quattro fromagio wasn't great, colossal was decent (the only one with sauce) and the veggie was so so. Our most recent visit was after an Indian's game when the restaurant was busy, but not packed. Even with a dining room full of people our waitress did a great job keeping drinks filled and our food came out quickly. They were even willing to accommodate half and half of two of their specialty pizzas, which some places won't do. We had a great dining experience that cemented this as a favorite on Mass. Took a staff member to lunch at the Mass Ave location on 4/30/15. It was busy all over Mass Ave because it was Dine Out for Life (not really relevant here but just a note) I love pretty much all pizza so Bazbeaux is always great for lunch :) I gave it 4 stars because the guy working the pizza counter on this day was quite possibly one of the rudest people I have ever encountered. At least he was consistent - he was equally horrible to everyone in line. Seriously - this guy snapped at everyone and basically threw their food at them. I'm used to standard hipster angst but this guy was a total douchebag. Ugh. read more
